Martha Plimpton - Draped in sparkles. This is my favorite dress of the evening. This might be my favorite dress, ever! I love the train of the dress, the way is drapes and the color. This deep red is elegant. Everything about this dress is perfect. If I were a dress, this is the dress I would be. When she was on stage the light hit off the sparkles just so, that it gave me chills.
Pure Perfection. I wish I could've seen her shoes. I'll be thinking about this dress for a long time.
Grade = A+++

Emily Blunt - She wasn't nominated for anything and probably just came to support husband, John Krasinski, but she dressed for a win. The color is rich. The Sparkles are the right amount and the neckline is plunging in an elegant way.
Grade = A+

Kelly Osbourne - I'm not entirely sure why she was there. Not being nominated or dating anyone who's been nominated, but she showed up in style. This dress is simply beautiful. It fits her like a glove, showing off all her curves. This color is great. Again another rich and deep color. The style of the dress isn't usually my favorite, but it's gorgeous. The one strap on the shoulder and the one of the arm, makes a most elegant dress seem very modern.
Grade = A+

Evan Rachel Wood - The train says it all. Yes there are sparkles, but it's the train that makes this dress. It's dramatic and elegant. There is a very old Hollywood feel to it. Particularly in the shoulders. I wish she would've gone for some color with her pale skin. The black makes her look that much more paler, but I still love it. Especially with her dramatic short haircut.
Grade = A

Kate Winslet - She's becoming a legend and her style is one of the reasons. This dress is simple. Elegant. Sexy. Her hair is the same. Simple and elegant. Nothing flashy, but she doesn't need to be flashy when she's a winner!
Grade = A-

Claire Danes - She's always so put together. Lately, she's been wearing a similar kind of dress. But if it ain't broke, don't fix it. The color is different and I love the shine. She's always looks quite elegant and stylish. The color and shine make it quite modern as well. Her bare neckline is quite sexy, as well.
Grade = B+

Kaley Cuoco - It's all about the shoes. The dress itself is cute and flirty. The polka dots on the shoulder is very cute. It's a great length and the splash of color is really done right.
Grade = B+

Kerry Washington - I wish I could've found a better picture, but this is the best one. There are an abundant amount of sparkles and I really like the bottom of the dress as well. When she walked on stage it was very dramatic with it swishing between sparkles and see through. Very elegant.
Grade = B+

Nina Dobrev - Very sexy. Very modern. Very Red. The bottom of the dress adds a very modern element to this red carpet piece. It feels very dramatic. I'm not crazy about her hair, but she's a very beautiful girl with a gorgeous figure and this dress certainly shows it off.
Grade = B+

Jennifer Carpenter - I thought the only woman to pull off the two-toned hair color was, Lily Aldridge. But I was wrong. The length and the color suit her. The dress is very pretty, sheer, sparkly and sexy. The high leg shows off her incredible legs. She did a really great job with this dress. It's nice to see her gussied up.
Grade = B+

Connie Britton - I was hesitant to put this dress on the list but I love her so much that it made me like her dress. She has a great body and I wished she would've worn something to really show it off. There is some nice leg action, but the bottom is a little bit too messy for my taste. She was rubbed of the Emmy, and she should've showed up dressed as a winner. I don't want to be mean, but her dress says, "runner up" to me.
Grade = B-

Jayma Mays - I like this dress. But it should've been on someone who was very young, like a teenager. This dress would look so cute on Hailee Steinfeld. She should be dressing more her age instead of a confection.
Grade = C+

Gwyneth Paltrow - Worst dressed EVER! This was just an epic fail. Out of a night of mostly winners, she surely was a loser. I don't know what she was thinking with this dress. She is thin as a rail and this dress makes her look like she has stomach fat. The skirt is horrendous. The color awful. I really don't understand what she was thinking when she picked this. I don't like her (she thinks she's better than everyone), but I usually like her style. This one was way off. Epic Fail!!
Grade = F

On to the Men of the evening.

John Krasinski - There were no pictures of him alone. But I can add them to my best couple list. He's a handsome man and is wearing a handsome tux.
Grade = A

Michael Pitt and Jamie Bochert - Again, there were absolutely NO pictures of him alone, which is just sad because his girlfriend looks coked up. I also don't have cropping software, but if we can turn our attention to Michael Pitt, you can see he deserves to be on this list. The black on black is very dramatic. He's another good looking man. This suit was a great idea. It was well fitted and makes him seem as dark as he probably is. He would've looked much better with Evan Rachel Wood on his arm than this lady.
His Grade = A Her Grade = She gets no grade.

Ian Somerhalder - Oh Ian, be-still my heart. You're so pretty you get two photos. You would look good in burlap. The tux makes me weak in the knees. You're one handsome fool. With Nina Dobrev on your arm tonight you were another very good looking couple. It's too bad your show will never be nominated for anything at the Emmy's. But who needs Emmy's when you look like this???
Grade = A++

David Boreanaz - You're hair is too short on the side but the tux is working for me. One of my most favorite things about a tux on a man is the line of satin on the side of the slacks. It just makes me happy. That's why he's on the list.
Grade = A-

Adam Scott - I don't watch your show, but I might start to because of the way you look at that tux... and because 2 of the Followill's will be on soon. His hair is also quite nice. You look confident and cute. Well done, sir.
Grade = A-

LL Cool J - You are a hot man. You have muscles that go on for days and your smile could kill me. I don't watch your show either, but who cares. Go on with your bad self. You are one hot mother. I love the hankie in your lapel and the newsie hat. Very well done.
Grade = A

Peter Dinklage - I'm so happy you won an Emmy for your show. You are the best thing on it. I think you are a fantastic actor and so great in everything you do. One day you will get an Oscar. You suit is also fly. The hair is good, the messy look is always sexy. You are a sexy man. The end.
Grade = A

Jeremy Piven - We go way back, so it would be re-missed if I didn't include you on this list. You're looking quite good Mr. Piven. I don't watch Entourage and if I did, it would be because of your character. The hankie in the lapel adds a nice touch to the simple suit. It brings it to a higher level of fashion. It almost reminds me of something Tom Ford would wear. Well done, indeed.

Kings of Leon at Coachella

Though I wasn't actually at Coachella, I got to see Kings of Leon on the Youtube live stream from the festival. The setlist was quite phenomenal from that night because the band played a lot of older songs. During the start of Crawl, Caleb has been kicked in the pants with a little vigar as he slightly gyrated to the beat. It's always nice to see him have a good time.

What was amazing was the ability to be able to watch this concert at all. The streaming was so great. I would never been able to afford a ticket to the festival let alone the airfare, so it was fantastic to watch from my bedroom!

My KOL family from around the world formed a "virtual team barrier" while we all watched together and talked through twitter. It was an amazing experience. I had my friend's from Spain, Scotland, England and Austria all together, all awake at the same time watching our band play to the world.

Kings of Leon - Izod Center

This was my first time seeing them play, so I was expecting a lot. The tickets were for free, as I had won them from 95.5 They weren't the best seats in the world, but I could still see the tight fitting pants and flannel Caleb wore.

His voice was perfect. To hear it live for the first time send chills through my whole body. It was raspy and sexy. Just perfect.

Every song was great. They started with Closer and I could've listened to that for an hour. They played Cold Desert and Knocked Up, some of my favorites.

It really was a great show!!! I was so happy to be there!!

I love this band so much!

kings of Leon - Camden, NJ

This was my first time seeing them this close and the first time I had front row center for them. I freaked out when we got to the barrier.

I hate to admit it, but I cried when they came out because they were so damn close. It was incredible. there are no words to describe that feeling.

It was the first time I realized Caleb mashes his mouth together to keep time. It made me love him more, if that was possible.

The band was tight, the music was awesome, they looked amazing and it was so great.

Caleb's pick hit me in the face, almost poking my eye out!! Jake, the security guard handed it to me and I'll always treasure that pick. I got Nathan's drum stick also. REALLY INCREDIBLE!!

The amazing thing is that during the show, Caleb, Jake, my friend and I shared a private joke together. I don't want to share it because somehow it'll sully the memory.

Kings of Leon - Bristow, VA

The venue in Bristow, VA is one of the worst venue's on the east coast. There was complete disorganization and it was terrible. The ONLY thing that made it better was that the Kings of Leon put on a fantastic show.

Caleb was in a great mood and there were a lot of smiles.

The band sounded great and played some new songs.

It was a fun night and the band were so tight. The poor opening bands were having some technical difficulty, which was a shame. But everything just seemed like an impediment to get me farther away from the kings show.

MSG Nov 16, 2010

I was going to this show alone. I've never been to MSG alone and was a little scared, but I asked to be adopted for the day on the KOL boards and some very nice people took me in for the day. Not only were they nice, but I will be friends with them for the rest of my life.

It was a long day waiting on line, then getting inside finally there was more waiting. Manchester Orchestra played but all I wanted to do was hear Kings of Leon, see Caleb, make sure Jared's hair was good, see Nathan's muscle's, and see if Matt was wearing anything other than black.

Once we were let in I got separated from my group, but eventually made my way back and they held front row center for me. right in front of Caleb.

The security guard remembered me from a few months before hand and when Caleb through out the first pick, Jake gave it to me!!! awesome.

The night got better. The set was amazing and they sound almost unreal.

Sometimes you can forget that Caleb really is a good musician because he's so attractive. Once he starts playing it's pretty incredible. It's hard for me to even concentrate on the other three in the band.

I teared up during The End and I think Caleb saw. This band is amazing.

Review ~ Talihina Sky ~ by Yetta Wood

SPOILERS!!!

We love this band, we know this band so there was a lot of anticipation when the announcement came that Kings of Leon had made a documentary. Nathan said in an interview they've shown "warts and all". As a fan we've seen and known about many of these warts.

But unlike Some Kind of Monster (the Metallica rock-doc) which showed one uncomfortable moment after another, ‘Talihina Sky’ was about family, Jesus and the way the guys grew up. It was not a Behind the Scenes episode either. It wasn’t about the rise of a band. It was simply a recollection of the way these specific people evolved, setting a new course for themselves in the world. It could’ve been about any family, it just made it that more interesting that it was about our beloved Kings.

I knew their family was poor while they traveled throughout the south spreading the word of G-d. But the film really made it clear how little they actually had. Like the fact that Nathan and Caleb had to share the only two pairs of pants they owned.

I knew they were very religious, but they were like holy ghost, bible thumping, speaking tongues kinda religious, which I’m not sure I really knew. I suppose it’s hard for me to imagine them coming from that kind of strict background. Seeing it on film, is no joke.

Especially when BettyAnn told a story about her sons speaking in tongues as children. Later in the film, she spoke about a moment when she prayed for Caleb, prayed that he would be calm in his heart. The emotion of that memory made her cry, she couldn’t speak for a minute. Once she composed herself she said G-d came to her and said “It’s done”. She said it was clear as if anyone was talking to her.

I liked the movie immensely, but in some ways I feel like it barely scratched the surface. And yet they showed an incredible amount of footage from the families younger days before they were big rock and roll stars. The more they showed their family the less it felt like a band documentary or a rock-doc. I wonder if a casual fan would have thought the same thing. Since I know so much about them, I wanted more.

There was little surprise about their personalities, or stories about them growing up, their very southern family, their drug use, drinking and sex. Having said that, I couldn’t turn away for a minute. I wanted to soak up every second they showed. When the DVD comes out I know I will wear a hole in it and I can’t wait for the inevitable deleted scenes, the director hinted there would be.

If you know the band (as a fan), you know they have a sense of humor and it shows even more so in the movie. Caleb starts the film talking about the first time he got to 2nd base. The funny moment comes when he revealed it was with a cousin, and no he wasn’t kidding.

One of many scenes that stuck out to me was what looked like outtakes from the Use Somebody video. Caleb and Lily waking up in a bed and she reachs out to him. Gently, Lily grabbed the back of his head and ran her fingers through his hair. Then pet his bare shoulder while he was on the phone. That will replay a lot in my head, until I can see it again.

He was in the studio and his phone rang. Like any boyfriend he played her the music he just recorded and told her about his schedule and where he would be when she arrived. When they hung up the phone, Caleb said a quick prayer to keep her plane safe and have her returned to him safe and sound. It almost broke my heart to see him be like that

Another scene that left an impression was a fight involving Nathan and Caleb. It was tough to watch. It was an ugly berating of Caleb by his older brother, Nathan that seemed relentless. I found myself feeling bad for Caleb, and yet you knew in some way he deserved it.

I asked the director, after the film, if he was the one behind the camera. He said he was not on the bus at the time and Nathan had filmed it. He told me he knew it was coming. The fight had been brewing the whole day and he stayed clear.

Their parents were fairly candid about their divorce as was Jared. I think Jared and Nathan were the most open about it. Nathan said, “seeing his parents he always knew what not to do.” Something I think so many can relate to. Ivan was very open about his own demons. Mentioning that “Caleb took it the hardest,” referring to his fall from grace.

Something I thought was perhaps missing was, Matthew. He hardly spoke and I asked the director about that. He said, “sometimes it says so much more because he doesn’t say anything.” It’s true but there was a part of me that seemed like he was disinterested. Certainly, in the fame part of what he does.

Susan, Matthew’s mom, disclosed he cried the night before he was to leave to be with the band, because he was going to miss his friends. She told him, “you’ll be back in a couple of weeks.” Matthew’s mother admitted to not understanding, like he did, that he wasn’t coming back.

There were a lot of scenes with family at the creek in Oklahoma. The film spent a lot of time with the family at their yearly reunion. As a rabid fan I’ve seen footage from the same day, but everything they showed was something new. It never felt recycled, which is something I was afraid of.

One of the funniest moments was seeing Caleb and Nathan as teenagers singing in their church clothes, hair short and awkwardly singing with their microphones. It was a promotional video for their singing services and to contact BettyAnn for bookings. No matter how funny it was there was no denying they both had (and still have) incredible voices. There is a reason they do what they do for a living.

Thinking about it, the things I wanted more of would have turned the film into a rock-doc instead of what it was, a movie about boys with a difficult childhood, growing into men with brilliant futures.

In the end it solidified the way I feel about this band. I instantly tweeted after, “Is it possible to love a band more???”

I thought it was appropriate to announce that I am going to 2 Kings of Leon concerts and will be basking in their greatness... in the pit... both times. Nothing could make me happier. So, to the two venues that I said I NEVER wanted to go back to... Here I come!

I've been writing a lot.

I'm going to The Gossip at the end of the week and am really looking forward. Also, I'm seeing Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros in July. It's shaping up to be a good concert listing so far for the summer. Muse tickets are going on sale on Friday, so here's hoping for some pit tickets to see them too. Even though it won't be in MSG, I guess I live if they're pit tickets.

I haven’t written a blog in quite a long time. Things have been very up and down lately in life. Let me start off with the sad news first. My stepsister Jen, passed away. It’s very sad. I miss her. She was an amazing woman. She taught me how to play dutch blitz (which is a Mennonite card game). She gave me real competition when it came to celebrity knowledge. When the family got together we would play those DVD trivia games and kill the competition. There was a lot of laughter. I love her and will miss her forever.

In happier news in the past few months, I’ve met Daniel Radcliffe twice, and I met Richard Griffiths, and hung out with Lisa Hannigan and band. Some of the pictures aren’t yet developed and other pictures haven’t been scanned in yet. I saw Eqqus and Daniel Radcliffe was amazing in that play. I know that he’ll win a Tony for his performance. It was a really, really weird play. But it was really good. It was really weird seeing Harry Potter naked. But he got lost in that part. When you watched it, he wasn’t Harry Potter anymore. He really was quite good.

I’ve been watching a lot of television. Brother’s and Sister’s is so great. I can’t wait to watch the tv movie they are going to show on Sunday. House has been all right. How I Met Your Mother hasn’t been on in a while. The Bachelor has been really, really good. I know I shouldn’t like this show, but I do. I stopped watching Heroes. Medium is great. NCIS is ok. Dinozo is hot. I’m excited about Reaper. American Idol has NOT been great. The contestants really aren’t that great so far. There are only about 3 I like thus far. The Mentalist has been really great. I like Simon Baker. I look forward to some hot man crying. Lost has been soooo great. It’s really going out with a bang. This season is so good. I look forward to seeing how everything ends. I love that Lindloff and Cuse!!! Life has been really good as well. I agree with Honey about the music that they use for this show. It’s all perfect in all the perfect parts. Criminal Minds is still awesome, even though I missed an episode. I haven’t really been watching Ugly Betty. And I know, I know, I know that Grey’s Anatomy has not been good of the late, BUT, and there is a big BUT, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and McScotty are so hot that it doesn’t matter the show is dumb. Jeffrey Dean Morgan is so hot that he makes me want to cry. The man crying he does is brilliant. McScotty has had a freak out almost every episode. It’s so wonderful!!! 30 Rock is really funny. I love Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey. The Sarah Connor Chronicles have been really good. But they really missed out on a good man crying opportunity with John Connor. That was disappointing. The Doll House, we’ll see. I hope it gets good. I love Joss Whedon. I hope that if you stick with it there will be a big payoff. Through Netflix I have been watching The Sopranos, which is a good show and Weeds, which is also a really good show. Honey got me into watching Veronica Mars as well and that’s also a really good show. I’m sad that the show was canceled. Wow that really is a lot of television.

The Academy Awards this year were so nice. Everyone looked beautiful, including some of the men. It was so respectful this year to have past winners speak about all the nominees. It let everyone have a moment. They were touched and I felt that it really softened the blow when they didn’t win. It was such a lovely idea that should be done every year. I also really liked how they made the middle awards a bit more interesting. They told it like a movie. Going in order of the way a movie is made and giving the awards in that order was interesting. It kept me interested at least. Hugh Jackman was a great host. I usually don’t really like him, but he was great.

Now Let’s get to the dresses:

The best dressed all night was Anne Hathaway. She looked AMAZING!! Her dress was flawless. I loved all the sparkles and she looked great. Her hair was great, her earings were pretty and she just took my breath away. A+

Kate Winslet – She looked beautiful. I loved her pewter dress with the black sparkly overlay. Her hair was a throw back to Grace Kelly. Her jewels were perfect as well. She looked like an Oscar winner and I was so happy that she won. She really did well. A+

Sarah Jessica Parker – I know that she wasn’t nominated for anything but she looked like a princess and just beautiful. When she and hubby passed by Gayle in a hallway (she was with Oprah’s show) Sarah Jessica and Matthew Brodrick had a moment. They looked at each other with complete love and respect. It was a really nice moment to see, and just for that she’s high on my list. A

Taraji P. Henson – She looked quite pretty. Her jewels were out of this world. Her dress was also quite pretty. It felt like a “moment” dress. The segments of fabric made it a very rich dress along with the gathering in the train. A

Penelope Cruz – The dress was 60 years old and it was also a “moment” dress and it was her moment that night. She looked lovely. Her diamond necklace didn’t hurt either. A

Angelina Jolie – she was just ok. But the reason I am putting her so high on the list is because of her 180 carats of Emerald. That’s my birthstone and besides diamonds my favorite jewel. I love the Emerald City in the wizard of oz bc it’s all EMERALDS!! Dress: B- Earrings: A+

Evan Rachel Wood – I was reading entertainment weekly and they made a good point that a girl that pale shouldn’t look good in that light color. But she did. Her dress and hair were very old Hollywood, but with the dark, dramatic nail polish and the lines of the dress made it very current. She looked very pretty. A-

Robert Downey Jr – he looked happy, healthy and hot. He wasn’t wearing sneakers and he really looked put together. Well done: A

Freida Pinto – Some didn’t like her dress. But what’s not to like? It’s a pretty color, which not many people wore vibrant colors. She had sparkles in her dress and it was like a sari, but not. She is just a very pretty girl and it looked nice on her. A-

Amy Adams – I think I might be the only one that liked her dress and her jewels, and the fact that she wore them together. I LOVED IT!! Her dress was modern with the geometric shapes on the bust and the chiffon hanging from the front. I loved her necklace, even with the many colors. The necklace was 669 Carats of rubies, emeralds and sapphires. What’s not to like? It was different and such a nice touch to her dress. It was all good in my eyes. Dress: B+ Jewels: A

Mickey Rourke – I liked his look. It was very appropriate and it wasn’t fake. It had a lot of touches of him in that tux. His dog just died and he wore a pin and necklace with the pooch’s image. As an animal lover I thought it was really touching. I like the chains hanging and he looked good. I really thought he was going to win, but at least he looked great. B

Hottest Couple – Diane Lane and Josh Brolin – Josh is gorgeous. I have always been attracted to him, even back in the 80’s when he was in The Goonies. Same with Diane Lane, she’s gorgeous. Together they make a gorgeous sandwich. A

Natalie Portman – A spot of color was nice to see and she really looked very together and very pretty. Her hair was nice with a clean sweep up do. She went with a dramatic nail also, but it didn’t really go with her dress. B-

Viola Davis – She was great in gold. Her hair and boobs looked great. I don’t think I have ever seen her dress up, she always plays such serious characters and it was nice to see her looking pretty. B-

Marisa Tomei – I know some people think that this dress was best make over from the Golden Globes. But I LOVED her dress from the golden globes. It was all very Anne of Green Gables and she looked so pretty. On that note, this wasn’t a make over for me. I just liked this dress a lot as well. She’s a pretty lady and it’s nice to see her getting some recognition. I loved both dresses and was going to post a whole blog about the last dress, but I didn’t get around to it. This dress was different and I loved all the pleats. The GG dress: A. This dress: B

Halle Berry – As per usual she looked amazing. She’s always pretty and always uses great designers. My favorite all time dress of hers was when she won the Oscar in Eli Saab. That was so pretty. B-

Jessica Biel – What a mess!! I was so disappointed in her dresses that night. She wore a different dress for the parties and that dress was also a mess. It looked like she was wearing a big bib. It was not a good color, even though the muted colors was the Red Carpet fashion statement this year, it just didn’t work on her. She is one of, if not my favorite, stylista. That’s why her dresses were that much worse for me. But I was thinking that maybe she’s pregnant with JT’s baby and she had to wear something to cover a baby bump? Who knows? Oscar De La Renta, my absolute favorite designer in the world, did her second dress and that was triply disappointing. It was a rough night, style wise, for her. At least her face looked pretty, but that she can’t even help. C-

Miley Cyrus – I think everyone probably hated this dress. I can see their point after closely looking at the dress. She definitely could have had a lot less half shells around the bottom. Apparently the dress was 12 pounds. But I loved the sparkles in the dress and it really reminded me of a Barbie dress and in my eyes, there is nothing wrong with that.

Reese Witherspoon – Honey did not like this dress. I can see her point, but I LOVED the color. In a night when there were so many different color whites, ivories, egg shells, silvers and other wall pallet colors of white, it was nice to see a jewel colored dress. Her makeup was not great. Entertainment Weekly gave her dress and “F”, I’m still not hating the dress so I give it a C.

Alicia Keys – Pretty in Pink. I loved her jewels as well. Very well done. I wish she was singing bc John Legend sang one of the Oscar nominated songs and he looked hot. She would be hot with him… ooohhh and Common. She was with Common in a movie that I saw and that was super hot. Back to the dress: B-

Jennifer Aniston – She looked beautiful and was so happy that John Mayer went with her. Her dress was almost like Anne Hathaway’s with the sparkly goodness and she looked relaxed and tan. A-

Virginia Madson – No one really paid any attention to her and her great red dress. The color was great. It was the perfect red. Not too orange, not to pink. The architecture was modern and well fitting. The material was good. She had a cute little matching belt and a nice size train. Everything about this dress was good. She looked great, I’m not sure why she was there, I don’t know if she was in anything that was nominated. But I’m glad she was there bc it was a great dress. A

Robert Pattinson – Do I really even have to describe anything? His hair was great, he looked great in a tux and there you have it!! A+

And there you have it, my wrap up of the Oscar’s and everything else. I’ll be going to Honey this weekend and we’re seeing Lisa Hannigan and band. I always look forward to these 2 things. I am also looking forward to U2 and their new album. They are going to be on Letterman every night this week. I’ll have to get my music tape ready so I can record that.

update: I saw U2 on Letterman last night. And they were AMAZING!! They are one of the best and biggest bands in the world!! The Edge looked super hot, actually they all looked super hot!! I can't wait until tonight!!

Also - Jimmy Fallon Late Night premiered and it was NOT good. Justin Timberlake was funny as always and cute and hot. I think it's really weird that the roots are his house band. Aren't they better then that? Jimmy wasn't funny and he was really awkward. I don't know if it's going to last. But maybe people said that when Conan first got started. We'll see.

One last thing - I am soooooooooo mad at Jason Mesnick, the current bachelor. I can not believe what he did last night. On the show he got engaged to Melissa, who's a great girl and she got along with his family and his son. She had been through so many awful things and then on "after the bachelor" he dumped her and asked the other girl for another chance. She stupidly said yes to him!!! I AM SO ANGRY!!!! Mostly for Melissa because she is so good and he really is such a complete jack ass. She called him a bastard and I couldn't agree more. No one says that he should have stayed with her if it wasn't working. But the fact that he dumped her on tv and really didn't give what they had a chance is just disappointing and my heart broke for Melissa. UGH!!!

Lisa Hannigan, a wedding and other things

April’s wedding was so amazingly beautiful. I have never been to a non-Jewish wedding and everything was new to me.
I really had a fun time. I did April’s hair, Honey’s hair and makeup and I have to say they both came out really great. The first dance they shared was so sweet. It was at a really nice place and I was just really nice. I’m glad that I was there. It was great to see them getting married. The Reverend they had was so nice, I ended up sitting at her table and she was great. There was a lot of dancing and it was fun. Chantal (Honey’s other bff) is an amazing dancer. She was teaching me some moves. She really knows how to move that body.

The next day Honey’s Aunt Julie hosted a brunch that Honey and I cooked for. It was so much. I really love doing that type of stuff, bc well it’s my background. I really love doing that cooking thing with Honey. Aunt Julie has a cute dog, named Allie and she’s a mush mush. It really was a great day.

The next day Honey and I made our way to April and Patrick’s to cat/house sit. From there we went to see Lisa. But we forgot the directions but we knew sort of how to get there, but then we had to get off the beltway bc there was way too much traffic. Then we really had no idea where we were. I was just following Honey’s instructions. I don’t know how, but we actually made it to Constitution Hall with plenty of time to kill. Honey and I hung out on the stairs near the buses and saw Tomo and Shane. Shane called us kids (which was sorta cute) and Tomo was just great.

Honey and I made our way in and we had
10th row. It was so great of Lisa. She went on and she was so beautiful and the band sounded great. They did that Iron and Wine cover that she sings with Donagh. It was a great show. Jason Mraz went on and though I think he’s ok and his voice is stunningly beautiful, the show really was boring. It felt like adult contemporary, especially with the horn section. It didn’t help that girls behind us were so annoying, they were screaming and singing along LOUDLY. Finally, I had enough and so did Honey and we left.
We hung out inside for the show to finish bc it was a bit nippy out. Then we went outside and hung out with Lisa, Tomo, Una, Donagh, Tomo, Gavin and later Shane for an hour or so. It was a lot of fun. Una and Donagh were particularly awesome. I mean of course beside Lisa. We talked to Tomo for a while and he said some pretty funny things about Keane that I don’t think I will be repeating out loud, but every time I think about it I laugh to myself.
Honey and I bought a gift for Lisa earlier in the day and we gave it to her. It was a compact mirror, made of a black pearl like cover and a cameo over that. It was very pretty. Lisa was really touched. She said, “you already gave me a gift.” I wasn’t sure what she was talking about, Honey knew right away what she meant but it took me a minute to realize she was talking about our MSG after snow patrol meeting. She was touched and so were we. There was a lot of hugging when we said goodbye, Donagh kissed my cheek and that was swell.

We freaked out all week bc we were both sick and it was sinking in slowly each day what happened. I think it’s still sinking in and it’s been weeks. The rest of the week we just vegged out and watched a million NCIS’s. That really is a good show. I’m watching the premiere of “The Legend of the Seeker”. The concept is good. It’s part Lord of the rings, mixed with Harry Potter and Xena warrior Princess. But unfortunately, as of right now the acting is more like Hercules or Xena equaling not good. That’s frustrating. I wish it was good. It would have been better if the actors were British.

Sad to say, “The Ex-List” has been canceled. That makes me sad. It was a cute show, but I honestly didn’t know where it was going to go after a year. Pushing Daisies might be canceled bc it costs too much money, that would suck bc Lee Pace is so cute and it’s such a great show. I am really liking the Sarah Connor Chronicles and the Mentalist. Some say it’s like that show Psych but it’s really not. That show is kitschy and this one is more serious. Life on Mars, though I am still watching it, I’m not really sure why. It’s NEVER going to be anything close to the original. Without John Simm and Phillip Glenister it’s really just dumb. Though, the actor O’mara is quite hot. He’s like Kevin from Brother’s and Sister’s but straight. Matthew Rhyse and Jason O’mara could be in a movie together and be brothers. But the sad thing about Life on Mars is that the people think it’s good and have NO idea how much better the original is. Most of them won’t even try and look to watch it. They should bc they are really missing out.

I watched a bunch of old movies that were really rather good. Sunset Boulevard: Gloria Swanson was a super freak in that. She was really great. On the Waterfront: Marlon Brando was really hot. It was a bit boring though. Deer Hunter: I thought this was going to be dull as sin and it really wasn’t at all. It was quite good and Robert De Niro was hot when he was younger. His acting was really good and subtle. I enjoyed this movie a lot. All about Eve: This was a great movie also. Bette Davis was great and Anne Baxter were great. They played well against each other. Anne Baxter was some kind of crazy in this movie. I really liked this movie a lot. I watched Love’s Labours Lost and that was NOT a good movie. I love Alessandro Nivola but that is not a good movie. I could see that Kenneth Branagh was trying to do but it didn’t work, not even a little.

This awesome woman, Penny that works with the accountant that our office uses just came back from Prince Edwards Island, yes the place where they shot Anne of Green Gables. I’ve been slightly obsessed with this movie trilogy for a few months now and she knew that. Penny brought me back from the Anne of Green Gables store this “Kindred Spirits” pin, a mug of a painting of Green Gables with Anne, A calendar of Pringce Edward Island and Marilla’s Truffles for G-ma. It was so sweet of her. I couldn’t believe it and I can’t believe that they actually have an Anne of Green Gables store. I need to go there.

This blog is certainly a long time coming. I haven’t written anything in such a long time. I have just been completely unmotivated. I blame the state of the financial situation in the world. The Jewish Holidays have also put a lot on hold. I haven’t been working as much and that makes me nervous but I’m trying to stay upbeat, especially with all the awesome things that have happened lately. Hopefully they will continue to happen throughout this month. I was telling Honey last night and last week that EVERY single day in my October (except for 2 days) is filled with stuff. It’s pretty crazy. So much has happened already that I really should have written a blog sooner but, what are you gonna do?

Let’s start off with the end of August. I went down to MD to help out with April’s Shower. I was the sous to Honey’s Executive Chef. I have to say that though it was a lot of work and Honey had planned on way too much food, it was so much fun preparing everything with her.
We laughed so much. I will be sousing again for the brunch after April’s wedding and I have to say that I am looking forward to it. I even had a dream about it last night. It’s just nice to be able to stretch that culinary muscle every now and then, besides when I do it every Sunday for G-ma and myself. The shower was a definite success. I was very pleased.

Then Honey came home with me and we went to a Times Talks Event with Daniel Radcliffe. It was amazing!! He was amazing!! Honey and I were able to sit in the front row, which was crazy bc there were a lot of people in front of us on line. But once we got inside, EVERY SINGLE person was going to the right and I went to left and so did Honey and we went straight down to the front row. It was pretty excellent.
Then Dan came out, he looked amazing. His hair was great, he was wearing his jeans just right and he had a great jacket. Definite A+ for clothing, though I will take away the plus for shortness, but I will re-add it for his character as a human and another plus for his ability to give a great interview, another plus for his ability to answer questions from the audience and one last one for being awesome when we met him!! So that’s an A++++. That seems about right. During the question answer period I went up and asked 2 questions. I was the second one to ask questions. They were: “A few weeks ago Gary Oldman was on Conan O’Brien and he told a story about a time he made you cry and I was wondering if you could please tell the full story?” and “If you could choose five bands what would be your concert line up?” He answered the questions fully and perfect. I will also mention that I read 4 different articles about his time at Times Talks and EVERY single article mentioned the questions I asked to DAN!!! How fantastic is that?!?!? I say pretty fantastic!! The second question was actually Honey’s question that she gave me. I was going to ask another question but I thought it would be rude. I wanted to know what scene he is looking forward to filming in the last movie and if it’s not the walk down to his death I will never speak to him again!! But he mentioned it later. He said he was really looking forward to filming that EXACT scene!!! I freaked out and was so happy that he mentioned it!!

After he was finished Honey and I rushed to the front, though it wasn’t that far away, we had to make sure that no one got in front of us. I got my short sharpie and the movie covers I brought for him to sign. I gave Honey the 3rd Harry Potter movie and I took the 5th Harry Potter movie. So we got to him and almost at that exact moment the Times people called him over for a picture with the interview lady and he said to me, I will be right back. So I was thinking what if he doesn’t come back. But he finished taking the picture and he walked back to our direction, he scanned the audience and was looking. HE WAS LOOKING FOR ME!!! And as soon as he found me he come right back to me and Honey. HAAHAAA I was really trying to keep it cool, I introduced him to Honey (which is something I don’t really). I gave him the pen and he kept dropping it. I thought it was weird but we looked up that displaxia (whatever it is) and it’s some sort of motor issue that he has. So it was funny he dropped the pen. He signed both of our movie covers and we thanked him so much. I also told him that it was important to ask the Gary Oldman question bc we both love “Man Crying.” Then we went outside to see if we could get a picture. I took one and thought it for sure didn’t come out but it did. And I ended up on TMZ for a split second, which was kinda cool, but kinda stalkerish. His security rushed him by and put him in his awaiting car and they drove off. It was a great experience getting to meet him and talk to him.

I’m remembering that I think I forgot to blog about meeting Stephenie Meyer. It was crazy. We met her for 3 seconds flat. There were too many teenage girls there. But it was an event and nice to meet her. Then Honey and I went to get the book at midnight at the upper west side Barnes and Noble. That was fun also. The B & N people were really nice. We spent most of the next day reading.

Which brings me to the amount of reading I did this summer. I read Twilight (twice), New Moon (twice), Eclipse, Breaking Dawn and The Host all by Stephenie Meyer. I also read, The Other Boleyn Girl and The Queens Fool by Phillipa Gregory; the Unthinkable Thoughts of Jacob Green by Josh Braff; Vanishing Acts by Jodi Picoult; Sunflower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See; The Eye of the Needle by Ken Follet. All pretty good books and all VERY different by extremely different authors. I really enjoy Phillipa Gregory’s writing and her take on historical fiction. I obviously like the twilight series, but in many ways “The Host” is better written then her other books. I didn’t really enjoy the Jodi Picoult book (meh) and the Josh Braff book was just all right. I very much liked the Lisa See book and the Ken Follet book. Now I am reading Beloved by Toni Morrison and next up is Revolutionary Road by Richard Yates.

Back to the schedule: After Honey went home I went to Dylan and Dana’s house and we went swimming all day on Sunday. It was so much fun. I hadn’t been swimming in forever. It was really nice to be in the pool all day long. I turned into a prune. I loved it.

The following weekend was Labor day and I went back to Honey bc we were going to cat sit for her sister (I had off from work). I left Thursday night and I got a flat tire. It totally sucked man, but it worked out I suppose. So whilst enjoying being taken care of and watching TV my brother calls and says G-ma had to go to the hospital bc Muffin bit her and her arm got infected. I had to come home early but G-ma was fine. Her arm was quite infected. I think Muffin was sleeping and G-ma reached down and she forgot where she was and bit G-ma bc she got scared. I yelled at her when I got home and then sat down with her to talk about her behavior. I really think she responded bc she hasn’t acted badly since then. Though she did knock over my full cup of soda water with ice on the floor and last night I was laughing really hard and she didn’t like that I was laughing so loud and she bit me, which was really funny. But it wasn’t meant to break skin or anything. It was just like a “ugh stop laughing you crazy person”!! it was too funny. I digress. G-ma is fine. I had to change her bandage and clean the wound for a couple of weeks but she’s like brand new now.

I’ve been getting into the swing of things with TV. Chuck is gone. Fringe and Sarah Connor Chronicles are so in. Both these shows are really good. I hope people are watching. SCC is really great and there was some major HOT man crying with a very hot Dean Winters. They are both great Sci-fi shows that I can’t believe I actually like them this much, but I do. I actually made this awesome TV Chart that has Velcro on the back of shows and a little pouch for mid season replacements. It’s very exciting. I also very much like the mentalist, Simon Baker is quite cute. It’s kinda like that “psyche” show but not as kitschy. There are some old favorites too like, Brother’s and Sister’s, Criminal Minds, CSI, How I met your mother, House and Pushing Daisies. I hope people are watching all these shows so they can stay on the air.

Honey came back to town bc we were going to see Sigur Ros. When I met Honey she told me that she saw trailers for Law and Order: Criminal Intent. So we parked near there and made a purposeful walk by the trailers. The one that we walked by happened to be Goren’s trailer.
That meant Vincent D’Onofrio was somewhere in the area. I saw a production dude and he told me that he was sleeping on that very trailer and gave me a time line of when he would come out. So we waited for maybe an hour and they opened the trailer door and Vincent was standing right there and I just had this instant reaction that was so stupid. I got the biggest, goofiest grin on my face that he totally saw and made me look like a complete moron. So Honey advised me to say some words to Vinny D and when he finally came out I said those words VERBATIM. How I remembered them in the perfect order in the correct tone is beyond me. I said, “About 5 years ago I had met you and I was really, really sick. You were so nice to me and it was amazing and it made my month.” While I was saying it to him all the crew were STARING at me and it was so weird bc they all had smiles on their faces and I could see them all thinking “oh what a nice story.” Vincent was again amazing. He took a picture with both Me and Honey together. I wish he was smiling with his teeth bc his teeth looked great. We also told him that we watched “Guy,” a really obscure Vincent movie. He was mildly impressed with us. Then we called some people and freaked out on the phone to them. Oh also while we were waiting we saw Sherri Shepard walk by and I told her that she was funny. Then we headed up to the show.

During the opening act there was some sort of seat debacle with the guy behind us. He was supposed to sit in the front row with his girlfriend and he was mistakenly sitting in the second row but he was willing to give up his seat but the seater didn’t let him. So he moved up and Honey was starring at his face and I took one look at him, leaned over to her and said “ya that’s Haley Joel Osment.” Her eyes went huge and she was like OMG. It was really funny. Bc then we ended up sitting next to him and his girl.
Sigur Ros went on and they were amazing. What a great band. The drummer was so amazing and the base player was also so great and he was hot. (I’m mentioning that now for a story that will come soon). During the last song and the Encore everyone got out of their seats and headed towards the stage and it was amazing. 2 dudes got on the stage and were dancing and it was like “WHAT’S HAPPENING?!??!” It was so great! They were really amazing. I was so glad that I finally got to see them. I can’t believe that we had front row for that show. It was so great. So after the last song I went to get my bag and talk to Haley Joel Osment. Honey was behind me so I tapped him on the arm and said, “I couldn’t help but notice that you are Haley Joel Osment and wanted to tell you that it’s awesome that you like great bands. I know you love Muse as well and so do I.” And he was so nice and was like ya muse are great. And this band was great. He told us that he flew in and came straight from the airport for the show. Which is so crazy. But he took picture with us and he was just such a sweetheart. We later found out that he's in NY bc he's doing a Play on Broadway. After that we were headed outside and I almost walked right into the wall bc there were so many hot guys, I’ve NEVER seen anything like it in my life. They were everywhere. I was looking so hard at them all and trying to get honey’s attention at the same time that I narrowly missed the wall. They were seriously everywhere. I don’t know if they were American or all Icelandic but they were certainly ALL HOT!!! It was like a hot man convention. We went outside to meet the band and while we were waiting there were these people from Ohio and they were talking to the opening band (the parachutes) but I was pointing them out to him, “he’s a parachute, oh so is he and she is too.” It was amusing. But then the drummer from the parachutes ended up talking to this guy for almost 30 minutes. It was so crazy. But what was amazing was that this dude was so cute and so nice. Very blond, very thin, very tall, very gentle. I kept staring at him (I couldn’t help myself). At one point I said something and he moved so close to my face with his face – it was weird but hot at the same time. I told honey that I don’t think Icelandic people know what sarcasm is bc they are just too nice. Then Uri (Ory?), the drummer for Sigur Ros came out and he signed our stuff (I managed to get a set list), took pics with us and I told him that he shared honey’s birthday bc she wasn’t going to say it but then she said, ya and we are also the same year and he was like me too. It was really cute of him. He was pretty quiet otherwise and I also told him I liked his shoes. They were some sort of crazy moon boots. And he was like apologizing that we were waiting bc he didn’t know we were outside. It’s like huh, YOUR apologizing to US?!?! They were so nice it was very cool. We also met Jonesy (sorry to Sigur Ros for mis-spelling your names) and he was really quiet and kinda scary. But it was still really cool. He also took pictures with us. The whole night and day was really rather ridiculously awesome. Thanks to Honey for coming up and sharing it with me.

My mom lately has been acting cookoo. I think she was having some sort of “episode”. It was hard bc every time I would visit her she would freak out on me and cry and scream. It was very frustrating for both of us and disheartening. I would think that I would get through to her and she would say ok, but then she would cry again. Thank goodness the last time I went she was actually very calm and took a nap. The nurse also told me that she’s been better. And on Yom Kippur she was very quiet and the nurse asked if she was being reflective and my mom shook her head yes. So there’s that.

The holidays started and it was really quiet I wanted to get as much sleep as I could and worked out pretty well. I was slightly reflective and hope this year is a good year. And actually the mail came b4 Yom Kippur and in it was something from the loan place. My loan has been fully discharged. I am very excited about that and it’s such good news.

But b4 that happened I went back down to Honey to celebrate April’s bachelorette party. Which was at a MattyNay concert. The concert was great and it was so nice to see him. We haven’t seen him for a year. He made a comment about Twilight and it was too funny our whole group screamed and hooted at it. It was me, Honey, April, Ashley, Amy, Katie and Amy. It was in Towson MD, which was a bitch to get to bc of all the traffic. But it was worth it bc of MattyNay. It was funny b4 the show I saw Matt by accident and I was fixing my sock in my boot and he was looking at me funny for a second then we tilted our heads up towards each other to say hey. It was funny. After the show we waited outside for him and there were a bunch of people. I wanted to try and be first, so we could leave first but we were 2nd to last, which was awesome bc he remembered Honey and me, more Honey then me. But that’s ok. He tried and that’s what’s important. We talked to him about so much stuff and he’s seriously the best. We all took pictures with him and he made so many jokes. He really makes you feel so special. I said that some joke he made was really funny then he told a similar one. He said that he was meeting this fan and the dude was like “in the picture we take together are we gonna be all gay and put our arms around together?” And Matt said to him “what would be gay is if I stuck my cock in your mouth.” And then someone took the picture and the dudes’ eyes were bulging out of his head and his mouth was on the ground. AHH MattyNay you are too funny. The joke he told at the show was, he was sitting on the plane from San Francisco and the guy he was sitting next to started talking to him. He asked Matt what he did for a living and he said he’s a musician, so the guy was like “I watch American Idol. That probably makes me gay.” To which Matt replied “what would make you gay is if you enjoy cock in your ass.” And there you have it. The rest of my visit was pretty low key and then home I went.

I’ve been listening to a ton of that new “Kings of Leon” cd and they are fantastic. The lead singer is really quite gorgeous. Honey told me that the drummer is marrying the girl that opened for Matt who wasn’t great, not even really that good. When I got home I got sick and so did Honey. (Feel Better Pooh!!)

Which brings me to the last bit of awesomeness for this blog. On Tuesday of last week I went with Cara to see Lisa Hannigan and band, which includes SHANE Fitzsimons. Who if anyone actually reads my blog knows that he is the man I should marry but unfortunately he has a fiancé already. Cara was great bc she treated to food and a drink. She’s so fantasgreat. Also, Lisa was quite the topic of a controversy on my blog (read here and here) sometime ago when Honey and me saw, met and talked to her after a snow patrol concert they played at MSG. We were waiting for the band and Gary Lightbody and we got Lisa the day after Damien Rice let her go. I think it was fate.

Back to the present: The show was at Joe’s Pub at 9:30pm, which is really late for a weeknight and the day b4 Yom Kippur but I would do anything for Lisa and Shane. Cara just got back from Barcelona and she saw REM there. She told me about her trip and you could head over to her blog to look at some pictures. What was funny was that Cara reserved us a table but I think since she did it so late we had the worst table in the house and we could have sat on the couches in front but the place is so small there really isn’t a bad seat in the house. I noticed (more so later) there were a lot of friends and family at this show. They played for about 50 – 55 min bc there was an 11:30pm show they were also playing, which we did not stay for. Lisa was beautiful. She was soulful and wistful and just amazing. I have some pictures but did not develop them as of yet. She really looked great, the whole band sounded great. Tomo looked so frakking happy, it was quite a change and I told him so after. If anyone is seeing Jason Mraz they are opening for him and please GO and see her. She is so wonderful and the band sounds amazing!!!

After the show I went and found Shane right away. (bc I love him) Cara wasn’t with me bc she was in the corner and couldn’t get out but I went to the bathroom b4 the encore and stayed outside the booth for the encore so I wouldn’t get stuck in there. So I had to talk to him, Honey wasn’t there to save my ass and Cara wasn’t either. So first off he remembered me right away and gave me a big hug. Then I found out that he didn’t get married yet, which I could have sworn that he did already. I told him that I finally saw Sigur Ros and he didn’t know what I said bc Shane pronounces it SIGGGUR RUS, he really gets that’s “G” sound out and rolls his “R” a bit. So I said it the way he said it and he was like “ahh their awesome.” Honey thought that was very funny. I was just proud of myself that I was able to talk to him. Shane said that he loved the bass player, i told him that we only met Uri and Jonsey. I also told him I wanted to meet the bass player bc he was really quite attractive. But we didn't get to. then we talked about Radiohead and his cousin was at that Radiohead show that I was at in Bristow, VA when it rained like crazy. He asked if the show was good and if it sounded all right, he actually thought he saw me in the front, and I told him that I was in the back and the show was amazing. Lisa was amazing and so was the band. He’s was so hot and yummy. I can’t take it. Someone interrupted us and then he said he had to go find his family so they wouldn’t leave, but that he would be back. Then I waited for Cara and gave her my camera. I saw this really pretty girl and said to Cara “I think that girl was on my stories.” After explaining that my stories are my soap opera’s she said, “no she’s not.” But I was concentrating on whom to meet next. Tomo was in the hall and he was talking to a bunch of people. So I went and started talking to him when some of them went away. I got to tell him how incredibly happy he looked bc the last time I saw him he was with Damien and he wasn’t looking happy. Tomo was so good, he said that it was a really long time ago but at the same time he was sort of finishing my sentence. I asked if we could take a picture together and he said of course. But b4 we did that girl that I noticed earlier offered to take it, I said it’s ok bc Cara was going to but b4 we got ready for the picture I turned back to her and said “you look really familiar to me where you on One Life to Live?” Her mouth fell open and she said, “OMG! How do you remember that? It was like 15 years ago?!” Even Tomo and Cara were like wow and I heard Tomo say how did you know that? And I shrugged and said, I’m just good at that. As I was looking for a picture on the internet of this actress I realized that she is REIKO AYELSWORTH!!!! Damn it, she is Mrs. Tony Almeda!!! I could have taken a picture with her but I was too worried about meeting Lisa. We took the picture and waited for Lisa. I was getting worried bc they had another show and I didn’t want to miss her. So I went to talk to Shane again, I asked him if we could take a picture and he was like of course and right away just squeezed me into all his stuff/nook area. It was so great. Oh man I love him. So then I also told him that I would be going to the DC show but I didn’t have tickets Honey and I were just going to go so we could say hi and see them b4 and after the show. He said you don’t have tickets? And I said no, and he said I’m not promising anything at all but if you get there early enough I’m sure that we can arrange something. I was like that would be totally awesome and he reminded me again that he couldn’t promise. He’s so great we hugged again and I also know that I touched him a lot, but I can’t help it. Then I asked if Lisa was coming out at all and he said, just go back there (to her dressing room). I said I couldn’t and he said just go and I said, if anyone bothers me I’m gonna tell them you sent me and he said ok. So I went.

At first her door was closed so I went back to stand where Cara was waiting. Then this other woman was like should I go back there (to her friend) and they were like I don’t know. So I said, I’ll go if you go, so we both went. The door was opened this time and there were 2 people talking to her already. Then this woman started talking also, I was in the corner telling Cara to come over to me, at first she wouldn’t then she finally did. It felt like forever until it was finally my turn. But it finally was. But b4 it was my turn she hugged the woman that went b4 me. Lisa closed her eyes. She was so pretty in that moment. Right in front of me with her eyes closed her face was calm and angelic. She’s so great. So it was my turn and I took a picture with her first bc I didn’t know how long I had. The interesting thing also was that I was the ONLY person taking pictures with anyone. But anyway, so I realized that I had a few moments with her. So I said, “I don’t know if you remember this but about a year and a half or 2 years ago after,” at that point she interrupted me and said, “Ya. After the Snow Patrol Concert.” At which point I lifted my arms in the air as if scoring a goal and I heard Cara say, “Oh My G-D, she remembers.” I said, “You remember, I can’t believe you remember”. She said, “I absolutely remember. It meant so much to me the things you said (even though I think Honey was saying most of it) and especially at that particular time.” I told her that it was fate and we were meant to be there at that time for her. I told her I was also have a full circle moment bc she’s here and Shane’s here and I’m here all at the same time. Bc she told Shane and she was like that’s right he told me and ahh Lisa. It was such a great moment. So then I also told her that Honey and I were going to the DC show and that we didn’t have tickets but we wanted to come and see her and say hi and bye. She said, “wait you don’t have tickets?” I said “no.” So she told me to wait where I was and I said ok. She was looking for her tour manager, but couldn’t find her. So she came back and found a little notepad in her luggage and said, I’m sure we can find some extra tickets for you and your friend, I told her that we didn’t have to even stay for the Jason Mraz show, we just wanted to see her. At which point Cara laughed. But Lisa said spell your name and your friends name. I did and I had an internal freak out watching her spell my name and then Honey’s name. Oh man, she’s so awesome. There was an Irish guy in her dressing room who was totally cute and he was happy for me. I told Lisa and him and the guitarist, it’s sounds really stalkery but it’s really not. And they laughed. Cara took another picture when I was talking to her and it was funny, she wanted a candid photo. I thanked her profusely and new that she had to get ready for the next show, so we hugged and I don’t know if it’s an Irish thing, but that hug was so strong and sturdy and yummy and great. I told her I would see her in DC and said goodbye. On the way out I saw Shane again and I touched him one last time and said that I would see him in DC. Then we left. It was so awesome.

That was pretty much the craziness of the past couple of months. I wanted to also send my condolences to Cara who recently lost her grandmother. I send love to you and your family.

The things that I am looking forward to are April and Patrick’s wedding this weekend, the brunch Honey and I are cooking for, and staying in April and Patrick’s apartment and cat sitting for Lizzy or as I call her Lizzy Borden. I am also looking forward to doing April’s hair for the wedding and Honey’s make-up, Miriam’s 30th B-day which I will be at her house for that Shabbos, seeing my apartment mate from Israel Gutis and seeing Lisa and Shane again. I almost forgot I am also very much looking forward to Twilight coming out. That should be really exciting. That Robert Pattinson is really hot and this movie is going to change his and Kristen Stewarts life so much.

I never posted this picture that Brook from "All My Children" sent to me. I met her at the eye dr's office and she said she would send me something and she did!!! She was really great to do that.

I hope it doesn’t take me as much time next time to write a blog. Until next time….

Leroi Moore Dies at 46 - 8/19/2008

I don't even know what to say really. Maybe I am still in shock. I have grown up with this band in my ears, on my clothes, my walls, in my eyes. They have been through so much with me. I think one of the reason's why I am alive today is because my brother put a poster of theirs in my hospital room and it gave me perspective. It made me realize that I could get better. I could get better because I would want to see DMB in concert again and forever. I would want to stalk them and meet them, again. So, I got better, I went to one of their concerts 2 months after being in the hospital for a month, then I went to their free show in the city, then I found out where they stay when they are in the city, then I started stalking and that is why I have this great picture with this great musician whom I love at 3 in the morning. It feels like a family member has passed and I will miss him very much. Thank you Leroi for the music. You will be missed by your friends, family and your fans who feel like family. I send my deepest regrets to your family and my prayers.

On a lighter note, I totally met Daniel Radcliffe yesterday with Honey. I was able to ask him 2 questions: The first was about when Gary Oldman was on Conan a few weeks ago and he talked about how he made Dan cry and I asked him to describe that in detail. which he totally did. It was awesome. Then I asked him if he could have 5 bands in a concert line up who would they be. I remember he said, The Henry something band (can't remember), The libertines, the pixies, sex pistols and someone else. IT WAS SO COOL!!! Honey and I sat right in the front row 5 feet from him. he's totally gorgeous, which was a surprise and so articulate. I was amazed by him. After we got to talk to him for 3 extra minutes and he signed the movie covers that I brought. I got him to sign the last movie and Honey got him to sign the 3rd (her fave) movie. Hopefully I will have time to go into greater detail soon.

It's been a while since I have written anything. There is so much that has been happening; personally, concerts, books, tv and birthdays that I have been overwhelmed with it all and haven't had a chance to think about it so I can write about it.

My birthday was great. I was very lucky that I got to share with all my loved ones and that's really all i wanted. I did get good gifts though.

I wanted to wish Honey a very happy birthday and I hope she has a great day tomorrow. You are so special to me and I love you. Your an amazing best friend. Happy Birthday Honey!!

Also - Everyone read Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse. Stephanie Meyer is swell. Her lead Edward is amazing. I love Robert Pattinson and that's all I really have time for.

I am so happy that David Cook won American Idol last night. The fact that he cried made it that much sweeter. I really am so proud. I felt the same pride watching Kelly Clarkson a million years ago. I knew from the beginning that he deserved to win and I am glad that America agreed. Enjoy the win David!!!

I just wanted to write a little something about "six feet under". I just finished season three and I think the show is brilliant. Peter Krause is amazing. He has depth as an actor, the character he plays is messed up and he just is brilliant. The writing is brilliant. I am going to start season 4 when I get home from work. It's such a good show. I wish there was more then season 4!!!

On another note David Cook was great last night. The man crying was an added bonus. I would love to see that up close and then wrap my arms around him as he leans his tear streaked face into my neck. aaahhh... ok, that might have been a bit too much information. it's my birthday next week and I am desperately trying not to turn into my parents. I don't want to be like either one of them and whilst avoiding becoming one of them, I might have turned into the other. I hope that's not true. But sometimes when I talk to adults I think, that they think I am my mom. They are always asking where I am working. As if I am my mom floating from job to job. But I am telling the world NOW, I AM NOT MY MOM!!!! I AM NOT MY DAD!!!! ok, that felt good.

David Cook was amazing last night. There has not been a better "America Idol" contestant since Kelly Clarkson. He was so amazing. His brother, AJ, was in the audience last night, who happens to be suffering from brain cancer. David was blown over with emotion and starting crying after the critiques by the judges. Every time that I re-watched it after i was also overcome with emotion. I did something that I haven't done since season three. I actually voted for David more then once. I can't wait until he's finished with American Idol so I can see him sing his own songs with his own band. It's good stuff people and he does have that squooshy tushy that I love so much.

Muse slowly takes over the world

So last night i went to see the H.A.A.R.P. Muse concert when they played Wembley Stadium sometime last year. It was amazing. It made me so jealous that I wasn't there on the floor in the thick of it with all the fans. Chris looked so hot!! There really are no words to describe how good he looked. Matt's voice was amazing. His guitar playing was so obnoxiously good. The second they were coming out of the ground with the classical music playing and the crazy amount of confetti I new that it was going to be at the top of my list of shows that I wish I was at, right next to U2 at Slane Castle. Dom was on fire on the drums. The whole thing was incredible. I went with Cara and we had both won to be there from a contest we entered. It wasn't sold out but it was pretty full. It was nice to spend the time with Cara. Everyone should go buy this DVD. Here's a clip from the show:

On the way home it was incredibly dark and rainy. It was a little unnerving. And when I was about to go onto Route 4 I saw an accident right in front of me. It made me nauseous. It was only slight accident, but it was really scary to watch.

The New Hotness

I haven't written a blog in a really long time. There has been a lot going on with my life. Some good, some bad, some of the usual shit that happens everyday. I was dating someone and now I am not. I've been working a lot lately and not really going to any concerts. The last show I was at was The Foo Fighters at MSG. The seats were very far away but they were amazing anyway. The mosh pit was a real mosh pit, i don't think i would have been happy on the floor with people running into each other. But it was a great show and Dave was amazing and playful. I love that guy.

Honey came for a long visit and stayed with me and some other friends. I was sick with the flu in there somewhere and i had a really high fever. it wasn't pretty. but honey totally took care of me, which is funny bc she was in my house, it was supposed to be the other way around.

But nothing has made me want to write a blog up to this point. Last night I was home late from work and watched Idol when I got home. But thank goodness i taped it bc I was on the phone at the actual time of this performance and i would have been so pissed if i missed it. David Cook sang "billie jean" the chris cornell version last night. i was completely and utterly blown away. I would pay money to see this guy. That's really saying a lot from me. Bc i don't like spending money and I will only spend money on a show that is worth it. and I would think he's worth it. He's got an amazing voice, he's got that squooshy butt that I like, has good hair for now, and he's just awesome!!! It was a proud moment. please watch it here!!!

Also, there is a movie that should be coming out soon called "the fall" with lee pace directed by Tarsem Singh who made the visually amazing movie "the cell". Here are some stills from the movie that moved me. The colors are vibrant and tell a story of their own. I really can't wait to see this film.

In other news, Dave Matthews Band is going back on tour and I am not going. Sad i know... but there really wasn't a convenient show to go to. Ticket prices also went up a bit. I've seen them 34 times so I figured i could miss this tour. Though it makes me a little sad. I am definitely going through concert withdrawal. I need to see some good live music. So Damien, Franz, Muse, U2 anytime you want to put out some new albums I would really appreciate it so I can see you somewhere.

I wanted to wish Dave Matthews a very happy birthday. Yes, i know it was yesterday. But I didn't feel like writing a blog.
I can't believe he's 41 years old. That's crazy to me. I am sure he had an awesome day and got drunk. Maybe not, maybe he actually had a nice family day.

On another thought, I hate this writers strike. It's effecting my tv habits. I actually found my self watching One Tree Hill of all things. The show of musical montages and barely any dialog. It's awful.

Though last night I do appreciate that Vincent D'Nofrio is back on network TV. Criminal Intent was great last night and so was Criminal Minds. so at least there's that.

I can't wait for vacation. I made a deal with Honey: I'll watch her battlestar gallactica if she watches Degrassi: The next generation. So that's what I am going to be doing at Honey's and i can't wait.

They should play long lost brothers in a movie and when they finally see each they can run to each other, embrace and both should start crying!!! Who wouldn't want to see that?

Last night I saw DMB at the IZOD center (aka continental airlines arena or Brenden Byrne Arena) for my 35th time. It was a really stellar show. Dave pulled out : "The Dreaming Tree" which was the first time I have ever seen that live. Robert Randolph opened the show with his family band. His sister sang back up and was amazing. She blew me and Honey away. They had so much energy. He joined Dave on stage for "watchtower" which is probably the 20th - 25th time I have seen it. I wasn't that excited to be seeing it again, but it was one of the better versions of theirs out there. Then he also had Eric Krasno who played on #41 which was nice. He played guitar and had a nice outfit.

Dave looked like he gained a bit of weight but he looked HOT!! and stefan also looked super hot. He grew out his hair a little and it was so yummy!! Carter had a smile on his face the whole time and wore batter gloves, (maybe to prevent calluses). Leroi even seemed to be in a good mood. Boyd looked great as well... nice jeans with a great belt. Butch was lookin all hot also with his salt and pepper hair!!! It was nice just to be in dave's presence. I missed being at a dmb show. I haven't seen them for a while (a year and 3 months) so it was just so nice to be in the same room with them at long last. When they played "Grey Street" I almost lost it. I was telling myself, "come on Yetta keep it cool. Get yourself together." I love this band and have now for 16 years... shit that's a long time. Thank you to Dave, Carter, Leroi, Stefan, Boyd and Butch for a great time. Another plus Honey and I made it home in record time. From the time we left our seat at the venue to the time we got home was a record 20 minutes!! We literally ran to the car. We even saw Robert Randolph's tour bus on the highway. When Honey gets back to her house she will post her 18 minute "dreaming tree" on youtube. I can't wait for that.

Honey came up for the show and it was really great to see her. We went to brunch one day and it was sooooo yummy. We saw "American Gangster" which was a great freaking movie. It was very violent. Denzel was amazing and I am sure he will get a nomination for it. Josh Brolin was in the movie and was a real ass. He did a great job. We also saw "No Country for Old Men". I did not like this movie. It was quiet and gave me a very isolating feeling. Even though the cast was amazing. Josh Brolin was great, Javier Bardem (hotness) was terrific. I am sure he will get a nomination as well. I read "the Road" and I didn't like that book. Cormac McArthy wrote the book "No Country for Old Men" so I had a feeling I wasn't going to be crazy about that movie. I wanted to see Martian Child but the theater wasn't showing it... meh. But we saw "AG" instead and it was a great movie.

TV this week so far has been really good. House last night was great. Reaper makes me happy. I love that show. I am still in the middle of "Beach Music". Hopefully I'll finish it soon bc I have 3 books waiting for me at home. "these lovely bones", "wicked" and something I took from Miriam's bookshelf.

Alright, I am ready for details about this crizazy weekend. My drive down to Honey was really very uneventful. I left very early bc we were going to the early show at the 9:30 club in DC to see Matt Nathanson… or as I refer to him MattyNay. Ingrid Michaelson and Melee opened for him. Ingrid wasn’t great and Melee was only a little bit better. Honey liked them but I wasn’t into them at all. Patrick and April met us there. Which was nice, I haven’t seen them in quite a while. Matt came out on stage and looked as adorable as he ever has. I miss him already. He was amazing. The only thing that was annoying was that he kept having to stop to tune his guitar. I understand that he wants to save money were he can, especially bc he is with a new small record label but it very distracting that he has to have it EXACTLY right in tune. I think maybe it’s time to get more guitars or higher a guitar tech. But it really isn’t such a big issue bc he’s just so darn cute. He played a lot of the new stuff that I love. After the show we were waiting amoungst the late show WallFlower fans. Thank goodness for Patrick’s sharp eye bc otherwise we would have missed MattyNay. Patrick saw him get into the waiting van, but the rest of the band didn’t even see him, so he was sitting there waiting. I went right over to the van deciding whether to knock or not, but mid knock MattyNay turned and saw me. I gave an innocent wave and he was surprised that someone was waiting for him. He opened the doors right away and I gave my “GET THE HELL OVER HERE NOW!!” wave that Patrick was NOT understanding. So when he opened the door no one was there and “Pooh Pooh” Came out of my mouth. MattyNay hugged me and said “Hey! It’s so great to see you. Thanks for coming to the show.” Finally Patrick, April and Honey came over and everyone hugged MattyNay. Honey had a few presents for him and he gave her an extra hug… LUCKY!!! It was really hot, bc he pulled her into his arms by putting his hand on the back of her head. It was good stuff Mary Sue!! We were able to take a picture with him all together bc he was running late. You could tell he wanted to get out of there. We talked about MSG and he said that it was amazing to play there. And that was really pretty much it. It was so short but at least it was…

We got home at 10:30pm, which was awesome bc I was soooo tired. I didn’t get much sleep at all the night before watching “Soldiers Girl” and the rest of my TV. We ate an awesome kick ass sandwich and talked about the Shnay. I slept for 10hrs that night and it was great. I was so well rested for our trip to Baltimore. I have just a quick note about “Soldiers Girl” with Lee Pace. Lee Pace plays a transgender entertainer who falls in love with a soldier at a military base. It’s based on a true story and is really devastating. Lee Pace was amazing in this. He really was so believably as a woman. It really messed with your head that he was making out with a guy.

The next day we were able to go to Target, Kohls and Staples. We headed to Baltimore and it was a really easy drive. We had dinner by the bay. I love the water and eating by the water. It’s really very relaxing. Before we headed to “Sonar” to see Mute Math this homeless man asked us for money and when we said no he said, “Bitches”. Which Honey and I shook our heads and said “ya, pretty much.” Then not less then 10 feet another homeless person harassed us. It was very weird. But Honey said now that we have that out of the way we are going to have a great night and she was right.

Once on line to the club the security guy came around checking IDs. When he came around to us he was saying that his sugar was low, so I remembered that I had some cookies in my bag. “I have a cookie.” He couldn’t believe it and I gave him one. Then he asked if I had some milk. “Don’t think so. Sorry.” He was so appreciative and every time he saw me that night he thanked me for the cookie. I became the “cookie dude.” In the venue which was dank, dark and had a small stage Honey and I leaned against some pillars near the back. Eisley opened for Mute Math and I was thoroughly bored. Finally Mute Math came out and they freakin blew me away. They are known for there live shows and I see why. It was amazing. Paul Meany (lead singer) was flipping all around the stage and over his instruments. He plays a mean Keytar. And at one point he went into the audience and let the fans play the keytar. Then went back to the stage and the keytar made it’s way around the front of the audience then back to Paul. It was insane. Next time we are so in the front!!! The drummer was crazy also (Darren King). He was really phenomenal. They just turned the place inside out.

After the show we headed to the bathroom. Then I realized that maybe I should steal something from the stage as I always do. The last set list went to the kid next to me. Then there was a drumstick that I totally tug of wared with the same kid and I won (of course). I shamed him into letting go. Being that he got a set list and I didn’t and no I did not want to trade!! I made my way to Honey with my prize and she was shocked that the kid didn’t get punched!! It was too much. I saw the security guy that I gave a cookie to. I triumphantly said, “Look!! I got a drumstick!!” He looked proud and said, “It’s bc you gave me a cookie. It’s Cookie Karma!!” Honey and I both laughed bc we were both thinking the same thing.

When we were outside I saw Paul Meany across the street and ran over to him, I asked if he could sign the cd and he said that he was going to come out and sign and do whatever soon. So I asked (nicely!!) how long he was going to be bc we needed to get home. And he was so nice and said that he would be 2 minutes he just wanted to dry off. It really was a short wait. When it was our turn to meet him he remembered me from a few minutes ago and was so sweet. He took pics with both Honey and me, really everyone. He introduced himself to everyone and got everyone’s names. It was so cool of him. There was a van full of church kids (they used to be a Christian band) and he stuck his head into the van to say hello. It was so cute. Did I mention that he has excellent hair!!?? Bc he really has excellent hair. I even told him that he has excellent hair.

Once we were home I was in a really weird mood pointing out every single thing that was annoying or different about everything on TV. “She’s ugly, the direction of the camera is different, look at his pants, she almost naked, he needs a haircut, his acting is awful, why didn’t they just make her British?!?!” Finally I started laughing bc I realized how annoying I was being. The sleep came and all was good.

The next day we went to see “Across the Universe” with the hotness of Jim Sturgis. Who reminds me so much of a young Henry Thomas. Sturgis has a band and I look forward to stalking him a bit. Bono was in the movie and was completely ridiculous. But the rest of the movie was rather good. Weird at some parts but I would give it a B-. We hung out at Starbucks and talked and wrote some stuff; Then dinner (sushi) and off to the next concert. The normal drive to 9:30 club usually takes 20 minutes. This night it took over an hour. There was some sort of Homecoming for Howard University, which caused horrendous traffic. We would have gotten there quicker if we walked. Mid car ride I started to not feel well at all. Finally when we got there we were able to get close parking, but I had Honey go in b4 me. I think I will just skip to seeing Nathan and his girlfriend, Sara. It was nice to see him. He’s very nice. Nathan is over 6 feet tall and we stood in the front so the Stars totally saw Nathan the whole time. It was an amazing show. I don’t know their stuff as well as everyone else, but it didn’t take away from the show at all. They were all amazing. They were fun and jubilant. They make you feel like you are part of their family when they are on stage. Torquil came out for one song and wore a jacket covered in lights. It was very cool, very Bono.

After the show Nathan got a set list bc he’s taller then everybody and he caught it when it was thrown. Everyone was screaming out, “I want, I want, I want.” I saw a kid that had the last Set List, somehow I made eye contact with him. And said “please can I have the set list.” He looked right back at me and pointed and said yes. Everyone was trying to grab the set list but he made sure he directly handed it to me. We said goodbye to Nathan and Sara. Honey and I decided to stay only for a bit bc the bus was right on the side. We were sitting and waiting. I saw the guitarist and had him sign my set list. Then after a bit I saw the kid who handed me the set list. As he passed me to get onto the bus, I called, “Thanks again for my set list.” He pointed at me and said, “wait there 2 minutes!” Honey was like, “what was that about?” and I thought well maybe he’s going to bring me something, a drumstick, or a guitar (ya right!!). When he came out of the bus he said, “come with me.” Honey was up b4 I was. I didn’t understand what was happening. I was almost jogging behind him and he turned back and had a huge grin on his face. It dawned on me what might be happening so I caught up to him and linked arms with his. “Are you taking us to meet the band?” Grinning even more he said, “Yup!!” I tried to look back at Honey but I knew that I would lose it if I really caught eyes with her. He led us to the back of the club, through a door, up some stairs, then poof we were in THE BANDS DRESSING ROOM!!! I was shaking. I could not believe what was happening. Owen was the “kids” name, who turned out to be the bands tour manager!!! He took me right over to Torquil and it was like I was meant to be in the dressing room, liked I belonged there. I told Torquil that I loved him in SVU and he told me that he made Marishka cry in that scene. Honey came over and we all started talking. It was amazing. We got our pictures with everyone separately and then Owen took a picture of the guys in the band on the couch. OMG!! I was totally freaking out the whole time. Silently talking to Honey with our eyes and smiles!! We were both beside ourselves. We hung out with them for over an hour. We could have stayed until 3am (when their bus was leaving) but we didn’t want to overstay our welcome. I asked Amy if I could steal a champagne bottle and she said of course and quickly emptied it for me. We were offered refreshments and other assorted things that we shall not really mention. When Amy offered I said we don’t do that and she said “good!” and proceeded to suck the “apple refreshment.” I was on the couch with Evan talking about stuff and it was crazy. When were saying goodbye it was like they almost didn’t want us to leave. I hugged Owen and thanked him so much. I went to Amy to thank her and re-tell her that she’s awesome. Then I said goodbye to Torquil and he kissed my cheek. Then I went over to Evan who was sitting on the other couch. He was going to shake my hand, and I said, “No, no. You need to stand up and give me a hug.” He smiled and said, “alright since you are the only one who knows my name.” Then gave me a hug. The whole night was ridiculous!!! I couldn’t believe that it all happened. I’m still in shock. When we left we totally screamed on the way down the stairs!! They are some of the nicest people in the whole world. They are so down to earth and normal. I love them for having us and I can’t wait to see them again.

I was really not feeling well the next day so I didn’t go home. We just bummed around, got my pictures developed and watched a movie. That was pretty much my weekend.

Breaking news: Hugh Laurie wears a rug on the show!!! Who knew!!?? And though I am sure everyone knows: Dumbledore is gay!! Can you believe that?? I always wanted him to be with McGonagoll.

I have really become obsessed with Facebook. I love all the superpokes. You can throw cows at people and that’s just funny.

In other news: Dave Matthews’ label, ATO Records, are in talks with Radiohead to become their American label so they can distribute music here. HOW COOL WOULD THAT BE??? I mean Dave must be shitting his pants. I really hope this happens for both of them. Dave once wrote an article for “Rolling Stone” about Radiohead. He said that they made him feel sick with jealousy bc they are so good and he isn’t. I was in shock. I had no idea that Dave loved Radiohead like that. So for his sake I really hope this works out for him.

TV update – I am no longer watching Bionic Woman. Congrats to Pushing Daisies for being picked up for a full season. Sorry to Viva Laughlin after only 2 episodes the show has been canceled. I am interested to see when, how and who they are going to bring to the remake of Life on Mars.

Thanks to Honey for an awesome weekend. I can’t believe that we were in Stars dressing room. CRIZAZY!! Owen where ever you are thank you for being awesome and recognizing real fans!!!

Honey and I ended up in the dressing room of the 9:30 Club in DC with STARS!!!! It was crazy... we were totally hanging out with them for more than an hour. It was nuts. TV Round Up

I wanted to give some TV shows more than one showing BC I figured that some would get better. Some shows I gave up on right away and the rest are really great. I want to say that the resounding theme for this TV year is that there is a major British Invasion. It really seems to be a growing trend that Hugh Lurie (House) has started and probably does the best. I am glad the networks have been open to hiring British people BC they are awesome and Hot. I could say something really convoluted and "smart" but I figure why waste the words when I want to say "their just HOT!!"

I will start off with something I learned from Entertainment Weekly. I am actually surprised that they haven’t made the comparisons yet.

Chuck and Reaper are almost the same show if you look closely. The truth is you don’t even have to look that closely. The camp on each show is a part of the charm. They both have goofy, funny best friends. Just one is skinny and one is fat. Both work for low-level sales people who have managers that want them to do better by being assistant managers. Chuck while have a Stanford education is directionless and doesn’t really mind. While Sam has no higher education claiming that “college made him sleepy”, he is the true meaning of a slacker. Chuck lives with his doting sister and “captain awesome” who only push him to find a girl.
Sam lives with his doting parents who push him to do nothing. Both work for chain stores, one in electronics and the other in an all-purpose store. They both have the DEVIL as the boss. While Chuck works for the government, Sam works for the ACTUAL devil. Both have hot girls on the show that are only interested in the leads as friends (maybe). The lead actors on both shows (Chuck – Zachary Levi & Reaper – Bret Harrison) are undeniably charming in a geeky sort of way. The final grade is Chuck gets a solid B while Reaper is easily an A-. Reaper makes me laugh out loud several times during the show and that’s what I am looking for in a show that is campy and fun.

Journeymen – This show has a lot of holes in it. I won’t deny that. But it is still soooo good. There are rumors that maybe it would be canceled and that would be a shame BC is it better then other shows, i.e. Bionic Woman. Kevin Mckidd, Scottish import, plays for all intensive purposes a time traveler. We have no idea why this is happening but he has to go back into time and save people. It’s a very interesting concept. It’s little part Quantum Leap, Dr. Who with no TARDIS, and Back to the Future. It seems like it is also somewhat like the book "The Time Traveler's Wife" which I just started reading today. Give this show time to meld together, flush out some of the characters and it could be a very long running opportunity for NBC. Final Grade = -B

Pushing Daisies – This could very easily be the best new show on TV right now. Lee Pace (who I have loved ever since Wonderfalls) is so quirky and cute in this show as a pie maker that brings the dead back to life. He is very hard to resist. Chuck, played by Anna Friel, (Life Partner of David Thewlis; which is a connection to Harry Potter) is British in real life but you would never know because her American accent is so good. She is sweet and adorable and compliments Lee Pace very well. The colors and clothing are so bright and retro that is reminds me at times of “Edward Scissorhands.” It’s also a big plus that they have Jim Dale doing the narration (Dale does the “Harry Potter” books on tape). Chi McBride and Kristen Chenoweth are also very cute and funny playing their supporting characters at perfect pitch. Final Grade = -A

Dirty Sexy Money – I was surprised how good this show actually is. It is about a too rich family, The Darlings. They are everything that is wrong in the society in which we live. They have the morals of, I don’t even know what. But it’s hard to turn away. To the priest that has a wife, daughters and an illegitimate son, to the politician who is in love with a transsexual and to the twins who are just living off the families money makes you feel that you are really watching something that we see on "Access Hollywood" everyday. It feels weird that you find yourself rooting for the family to have things work out at the end, even if they have to literally pay for it. Final Grade = -A

Life – Damien Lewis another British import plays a Zen detective who was put in jail for 12 years for wrongly being convicted to murder. Now free he wants to find out who framed him. Detective Crews now living off the settlement that the state agreed to for putting him in jail for something he didn’t do. He works for the same department and solves crime while looking for clues to see who really committed the crime that put him in jail. In between all the crime solving and clue finding he also has time to frequently pull over his ex-wife’s new husband and eats tons of fruit. Trying to live a very Zen life he doesn’t want to be attached to “things” but finds himself often attached to fast cars. Damien Lewis looks amazing in the show with nice suits and form fitting bulletproof vests. Even though his character wakes up to a different woman everyday he is still charming. The supporting cast is exactly that. The show does not focus too much on them except for a drinking problem that his new partner has. Final Grade = B+

Private Practice – All is have to say is PAUL ADELSTEIN!!!! He is amazingly cute. I can’t take it. Kate Walsh feels like Meredith (From Grey’s) with her quippy phrases and her feelings of “missing magic”. I think she needs to detox herself from Seattle Grace so she can find her spot in LA. There is a lot of chemistry between Kate Walsh and Tim Daly. Amy Brenneman as a stalking therapist is something I think we can all relate to. Paul Adelstein as the over sexed pediatrician is perfect. Why they always make pediatricians over sexed is beyond me, if you remember Doug (George Clooney) on ER, he was another over sexed pediatrician. It’s like they are supposed to balance each other out so you don’t hate them completely. Even though they are having sex with anything in a skirt, they are really good with kids and that makes is better somehow… I guess it works because I absolutely love Paul Adelstein in this role. I also really like Audra McDonald as the replaced cast member. Let us not forget the hotness of Taye Diggs. When he smiles my mind gets mushy. I think this show will do well and I look forward to Wednesday to see some Paul Adelstein being adorable. Final Grade = B+

Bionic Woman – Truth time… this show is not great. If it were up to me I would do something quick before it becomes a money pit. Yet another import from England, Michelle Ryan, one would think it might be better. It's slow moving and is not cohesive. The action sequences are fun but the story falls flat. It got a little better with Isaiah Washington joining the cast but not that much better. This show could be great. With the supporting cast I feel that they just needed to dump these actors somewhere BC their previous shows were finished and didn’t know what else to do with them. Which is a shame BC some of them are good actors. I will probably watch a bit more but my patients is waning. Final Grade = -C

Carpoolers – I watched the first one and didn’t laugh once. The weird son of one of the carpoolers, played by TJ Miller, was the only interesting part of the show because he is so weird. But I think I have given up on the show and I don’t expect it to last long. Final Grade = D

Back To You – I watched the first one and laughed. Once. I have given up on this show and have no interest anymore. Final Grade = -D

Heroes – This is still a great show. I like that it is turning a bit into Lost with all the different theories. At times it's funny, sweet and mostly Kick ASS!! Milo Ventimilgia not wearing a shirt is also always a plus. Having EX – Sark, AKA David Anders on the show was a stroke of hot brilliance. (He’s the opposite; playing a Brit when really he’s from the Midwest!! LOVE IT). I like all the new character’s thus far and I have no complaints about this show at all. Keep rockin’ Heroes, I can’t wait to see what happens. Final Grade = A

The Bachelor – So far, so good. I know I am a huge sap for watching this show still. But I like it and I can’t help it. I am sure that no one else care about this show, so I won’t get into it, but the bachelor this year is actually good looking and seems to have good taste. Final Grade = -B

House – The pioneer of British playing an American. He is brilliant, both Dr. Gregory House and Hugh Laurie. I love the first episode when his guitar was taken hostage. House is looking for a new team this year since his old team no longer works for him. I like that he has them all competing against each other. House is running with this idea and it’s quite fun to watch. Final Grade = A

Brothers and Sisters – I love this show. Every time it’s on I always say, “I could watch 4 hours of this show. I wish it was on for a longer time.” Every single character is full, strong and real. Watching them together you feel that they are really family. They bicker back and forth, fight together against anyone who tries to hurt them and incredibly love each other. I cry with them, laugh with them and feel for them. Ron Rifkin is the sweetest man and best uncle in the world. It's a far cry from his Alias role as evil Arvin Sloan. Don’t get me started on the hotness of Matthew Reiss crying (another hot British man playing an American), David Annable crying, and Rob Lowe fitting in nicely with the show. I was happy that Sally Field won the Emmy she well deserved it. This is a great show that everyone should watch. Final Grade = A

How I Met Your Mother – Neil Patrick Harris is brilliant as the womanizing businessman (maybe he’s an attorney – he’s rich but no one knows what he does). This show is smart and funny. Like “Will and Grace” the supporting cast out shines the leads. You can tell that they are all friends and they really have a good time together which makes it fun for the viewer. Good times. Final Grade = -A

NCIS - I only really started watching this show in the summer and now I am hooked. Mark Harmon is really good. It’s sort of another CSI but not. There really isn’t anything else to watch on Tuesdays at 8pm so I recommend this show. Final Grade = -A

Criminal Minds – Again I didn’t start watching this until the summer and found myself hooked. I am probably the only one in the world, but I really like Mandy Patenkin. I am sad to see him go, but what are you gonna do? The rest of the cast is really strong and the stories are very good. They can be graphic but they are always interesting. It’s up against Private Practice and Bionic Woman which might win the time slot, but I have to say that it’s kind of a better show then both of these shows (and I like Private Practice). Final Grade = A

Ugly Betty – Love this show. Love America Ferrera. Love the camp. I just love this show. Is there really anything else to say? I think not!! Just Watch!! Final Grade = -A

Smallville – Lex is still hot and that is worth watching. But I really hate Lois. I can’t stand that actress and the character. I love Chloe and wish somehow she had a bigger role. Clark is meh and I don’t know how I feel about having his cousin arriving, unless she turns into “super girl” and that would be cool. Lana is back from China and we’ll see how that goes. As the season goes on the better it gets. Final Grade = B

Grey’s Anatomy – Oy this show. It’s at a weird point. Last season ended dark and awkward. It’s slowly moving back to normal. I don’t know how I feel about the new people. I will continue to watch and look forward to picking up it’s pace again. As always the medical stories are very good. Final Grade = -A

ER – I have to admit that I haven’t been watching steadily, but the prospect of Scott Grimes crying makes me want to tune in this week. Other than that I don’t really have any interest in the characters or the story. Final Grade = C+

CSI – I still like this show a lot. My only complaint is that I wish they would have killed off Sara. I can’t stand Jorga Fox. But I am happy that she won’t be on the show anymore as her character has switched shifts. No complaints other then that. They are still going strong and will for a long time. Final Grade = -A

Survivor – I don’t watch this show anymore. Something had to go and this was the weakest link. Final Grade = C (I have to give it something).

This is from my day out with Miriam when we saw Harry Potter and Spring Awakening. I was walking down the street and poor unsuspecting "Bianca" from "All My Children" was walking the other way talking on her cell phone. She got off the phone and she took the picture with me. She briefly told me that she is getting married but plans on returning to AMC, she never really left she just takes time off. I was very excited!!!

This is Shane and Me after the Damien Rice show at the WAMU Theater in MSG. He's great. I wish we were able to hang out longer but what are you gonna do. Look at the cuteness.

This is Brendan Buckley. Drummer extraordinaire. He was filling in for TomO (Tom Osander) who is the regular drummer for Damien Rice but was at the moment helping Lisa Hannigan (who's dating The Lighbody) with her new album!! AWESOME! Anyway, Brendan was amazing. I hate to say it bc TomO is my third favorite drummer of all time (after Carter Beauford DMB and Dom from Muse), but Brendan was so amazing that I barely missed TomO. Even Shane looked impressed during the show.

Well , well, well... The "sensitive" Damien Rice. I am so mean to him and I am not sure why. He's really nice in person. But I won't go into it BC I always go into it. But there he is NOT looking homeless. I have to say his hair is great. Nice jacket. Funky Orange chords. It's all good. Why he was wearing a ratty old baha from 1970 and torn chords after the show? It's beyond me. This is the potential he could have ALL the time... but what are you gonna do?

I am so proud that I caught this moment with my camera. I saw it coming and instead of the usual gawk of amazement I took a picture instead. This was from The Frames concert at Webster Hall. Marketa Irglova and Glen Hansard. She sang a few songs with Glen from their movie "Once" and then joined the band to sing 2 songs or one song. I can't remember. But look how cute they are!!! THEY LOVE EACH OTHER! It's too much. At one point Glen leaned over when she was at the piano and kissed her. Right. On. The. Lips!! I freaked out. I think Honey was also a smidge beside herself. It was a really sweet moment. Look at this picture I found from a show (sort of) that they did in Derry promoting the movie. I mean really there is nothing cuter.

Ya see how good he looks? Damien needs to take some lessons in fashion from his Irish friend over here. This is the way to dress. Perfect jeans with the right belt, good shirt and a nice casual jacket.
This was a good show but Honey and I both agreed that the show from Town Hall was better. We went with Cara and met up with Ian (our irish friend from Damien Rice show). It was a nice day.

And finally a touch of adorableness. This is Kayla. I am her Auntie Hoppa - why I don't know but I am. She is Miriam's daughter and pretty much my neice. She really says the cutest things. She was drinking a cup of water and took a huge sip. After wiping her lips she said very matter of factly, "That was good coffee. Don't you think so Mommy?" She's 3 1/2 going on 16.

Also on a last note: I didn't think that there could be a worse movie then Alexander, but alas I have found a movie worse then that. I hate saying so BC it has Cate Blanchett and I love her. But "The Good German" is G-D awful!!! I mean really awful. It was painful to watch.

I also saw "The Last King of Scotland" and that was most excellent. James McAvoy was amazing. As was Forrest Witiker. It was slighlty disturbing at points that made it hard to watch. Overall it was a very well done movie. I'm not sure why James McAvoy wasn't nominated for an Oscar BC he would have won. But I am not an Oscar voter.

Some Kind Of Monster

Last Night I stayed up very late watching "Metallica: Some Kind Of Monster". I honestly have no interest in this band musically. I have never really been into Heavy Metal Hair bands. Though when this came out in theaters I was always interested in seeing it because the movie/documentary takes the viewer into the inner workings of everyday band life. I enjoyed this film so much I quickly watched it again with the commentary from the band, which gave additional (not much) insight into what the band was feeling.

Metallica, starting to make their first studio album in about 3 years. You see everything in this film from the very benign setting up a studio and dealing with the record label. To the extremely personal and private of confronting each others ego's, not having a permanent bass player, daily temptations of damaging vises and the immense pressure of writing an album to support their family and band.

It was certainly surprising how intimate and open the band was with each other when the therapist Phil Towle was in the room. (On a side note they paid $40,000 a month to be at their constant beck and call over an almost 3 year period.) With all the camera's in their face it was very impressive that they could allow themselves to be that vulnerable in front of them. The band had such a disconnect with each other that they weren't even sure how to communicate with one and another. At times they weren't even sure if they wanted to stay together. Before James Hetfield (Vocals and guitar) went into rehab Lars Ulrich (drummer) and him were arguing with each other about a song. Guitarist Hammet saw the fight coming on. In his soft Buddhist way he begged for them to save the energy and use it for the music to just get the song done. Not listening Ulrich kept laying into Hetfield. Hammet in obvious frustration clapped his hand on his forehead, even that didn't make Ulrich stop. Hetfield got up and walked out of the room, leaving everyone sitting in an uncomfortable silence. Using the force of his whole body he slammed the door so hard that it almost broke the door off its hinges.

Two previous band members Dave Mustaine and Jason Newsted, one was fired in the eighties and the other quit because of the pain he apparently was putting himself through, were apart of this film as well. Dave Mustaine who started rival band Megadeath, agreed to a therapy session with Lars Ulrich. Mustaine freely admitted to his feelings of failure and always feeling like #2 to Metallica's #1. Wishing that James Hetfield was in the room, who was at a rehab facility at the time this meeting took place, Mustaine expressed how he would have liked to unloaded his feelings on him as well. Posing the question to Ulrich, "Do you know what it's been like for me?" Left Ulrich scrambling to give him an answer but he wasn't even listening to the question until Mustaine repeated it 3 times, which ultimately left Ulrich speechless.

Their were several clips of Jason Newsted "whining" about the good choice he made leaving the band and how he is better off now. Watching the commentary you hear Hetfield having absolutely no patients for this man. Newsted makes a comment about not understanding having children in the profession they have, but not saying it out right. Hetfield blurts out, "Living!?!" It makes you realize how self important Newsted feels about himself. Ulrich and Hammet make the effort to go see Newsted with his new band, Echobrain. After the show he doesn't give them the same courtesy of sticking around long enough to even talk to them even though he knew they were there.

Ulrich can be self indulgent with his feelings and pity for himself. At times his personality is as grading as his horrific wardrobe and hairstyles. The Napster lawsuit was annoying, it was annoying to watch it when it was relevant and even more annoying to watch the edited version in the film. Ulrich aptly asks himself on the album, "did I make a difference anyway?" I think we all know the answer to that one. Hetfield who goes through some life changing events during this period, one can see that he has changed the most. Not wanting to fall into old patterns he is able to recognize what triggers old habits of shutting down emotionally. Being able to see him healthy, very affectionate with his children and expressing his emotions freely (IE...at the end of making the album he says he's really sad, not depressed and is able to express why that is.) gives a sense of "happily ever after". Hammet has long been sober and has battled with his demons many years ago. His zen like quality brings a stillness to the band that is very much needed though it would have been nice if he spoke up a little more.

The band works best together after a healthy amount of therapy, rehab, finally finding a bass player and fighting together against a scripted radio station promo that their label is making them do. I loved watching these tough heavy metal men get to the core of their issues and deal with them in a very grown up manner. Filming their first video in a California prison Hetfield talks to the inmates. The honesty expressed caused him to be very emotional. Before they played saying, "Everyone is born with the same size soul. It's the choices you make that makes the difference. It's an honor to play in your house." To ending with "If it wasn't for music in my life I could very easily be in here or dead." Taking pause he collects himself, says thank you and leaves the stage. From Hetfield pointedly talking about his own anger for Cliff Burton leaving him and the band, the original bass player who died in a bus accident in Sweden; to Ulrich not being able to express himself in front of his Gandalf looking father; and to Hammet having to explain why Hetfield called him from rehab and no one else associated with the band. These men are complicated and interesting beyond anything I ever saw from their angry, warped and jaded videos on MTV. At times it was uncomfortable to watch but that's what made me want to watch. It was real. My only wish is that other bands get a therapist, put it to film and let me watch it.

On another note last night every single dream I had I was dreaming about Jame Hetfield. In the dreams I was able to tall him that I don't like his music but I loved watching this film. There is something very attractive about him.

The holidays are exhausting and are over next week. I'm glad that I get to see my friend Gutis - Devorah - bc she lives in Israel and we only see each other once a year.

I can't believe this weather!!! It's so disgusting. I hate the humidity.

I will have a week in review about all the new shows. Though my stupid VCR didn't tape some of the shows which is sooooo frustrating!!!! So I will watch some shows at work. ARGH!!!!

Damien Rice at WAMU Theater in NYC

Ok, this is going to be a short blog. I am going to write a longer one after the Frames show tomorrow. I have to say that I love Shane Fitzsimons. Seeing him 3 times in a year and a half makes me feel really lucky. Let me just say that the Damien show was amazing. He was playing and singing with so much aggression. It was loud and in your face. It was the 2nd best Damien show I've been to. I couldn't have asked for anything better (unless Lisa was there). So there is a studio drummer touring with Damien right now. Who by the way is HOT!!! He is also an extraordinary drummer. Shane at points looked so impressed and he blew Honey and me away. Everyone was having a great time on stage. It was really nice to see. The drummer is Brendan Buckley and he toured with Shakira last year (which is funny bc I met her randomly). But he was AMAZING!! funnily enough he also looked like Honey's friend mike. He could have been his brother. And talking to him after the show I found out he's from Jersey!!

After there was the usual stalking... We met this kid Ian from Dublin. I really don't have time for details at the moment. But he told us (mind you he has no connection to the band. but he knows a lot about a lot and not in a "I know everything" type of a way. But in a way that I think he knows what he's talking about.) Anyway... he told us that Tomo (tom osander) is with Lisa Hannigan at the moment. Helping her out bc her album is planning on coming out sometime next year. (I cannot wait for that.) I couldn't believe it. Honey sent me an article and I read on Damien's boards that at some show (I don't think in America) Damien called Lisa and tomo from the stage. He had the audience say "we miss you". That's a really ballsy and not nice thing to do. I love Damien and I respect him. But it's really fucking difficult to defend him (even if it's just to myself) when he does shit like that. I just don't understand when he acts like that. On a good note he was looking all kinds of hot at the show. No longer homeless man.... just vintage chord man. He got a new haircut and I love his hair short like that. He wore a jacket and orange chords. But of course outside later, he looked slightly homeless bc of that stupid baha he has. Shane also looked all hot bc he was wearing a black suit jacket with jeans and some really great shoes!! HAWT!!! I love him.

After the show we were able to spend some time with shane and that made me really, really happy. I pretty much wouldn't bc I couldn't let go. I was able to ask him if we could stay with him when we eventually come to ireland he said no. but he did say we could come to dinner if it's ok with his lady. But we were like, she's gonna love us and we are going to love her!!! we won't even pay attention to you!! it was funny. Maybe he said yes bc he doesn't think we will get to ireland... little does he know... we will... I don't know when... but eventually. Honey was of course embarrassed that I asked... but I don't care. He remembered us from last time. The exact show and city we were in. He remembered that I gave him that picture which he said that he has at home. He remembered that whole story with Lisa and Gary (lightbody). Details that we didn't even tell him, details that LISA HANNIGAN told him!!! then he said that he told her that he saw us!!! It's crazy!! He's so good. He's amazing and he's really a good person. There was a lot of hugging and him letting me hug him. He talking about his parents and said some really sweet things. Things that made me love him more. I gave him (from me and honey) come cd's of a 3 live shows. The police from Bonnaroo, Sigur Ros from NY and their own show from 5/3/04 from beacon.

I was also able to talk to Damien for a minute privately, which really means that we were face to face an inch away from each other. There is no "private" outside the bus with other people. I wanted to tell him something very private about what his music means to me and I didn't want other people to hear me. There was only a few of us anyway. But I was able to tell him and I almost started to cry. Damien never took his eyes off me and I didn't either (i tried not to even blink). Putting his hand on my arm he rubbed lightly. It let me know that he understood what I was saying. I could see it in his eyes. When he looks at me I really feel that he sees me. I sense a connection that we share and I don't think i'm crazy when I say this. I really feel it. I see the way he looks at other people and I see the way he looks at me and it's different. He remembers me from that time in dc last year. (he may not remember my name. but he remembers the conversation). We hugged, very tightly, for a nice amount of time. Honey then reminded me about keane. so I told him that when we met keane they do the opposite of what he does and what we get from him is so much more. The time and the conversation lasts forever in your head. Things like that you never forget. The connection. But with a meaningless signature and a picture that has blankness it really feels like it's not worth it. (unless it's edge or dave or alex or muse) But the thing about shane is that he can do both. He can have the conversation and the picture bc there is something in the picture. It's not blank. But Honey and I wanted to let Damien know that he was right. what he gives to his fans is worth more then any picture he could take or any ticket that he could sign. So thank you to Damien for staying and talking and understanding. Thank you for playing an incredible show. Thank you to Shane for being amazingly sweet, kind and open.

The frames are tomorrow and I am really, really looking forward to that. It's Irish week and it makes me really happy.

Porn + Harry Potter = A Great Day with Miriam

Last week I had vacation from work and I tried to relax most of the days. I did little things each day except for the last day. I was going to meet Miriam in the city. For her Birthday or maybe anniversary she got a gift card for TKTS. It was very nice of her to use half of it on me also. So she got there very early, even before I left the house and get tickets to "spring awakening". I had a miserable time parking. But we finally met up and went to lunch at her favorite dairy place called "cafe K". The soup was very good and I had a salad. Miriam had half my soup, a salad and a roll of sushi. We then walked to the theater and met someone from High School that was very unexpected. We also took a touristy picture at Rockefeller Plaza. Miriam didn't want to but I was like, what's the difference? We don't live IN the city!! So we took it. I don't know why you would get embarrassed. Who cares what other people think?!!? I don't! We finally made it to the theater and got to our seats. It's a pretty small theater and we were in the balcony. We talked a lot, which was really nice. So the show started and I was pleasantly surprised. What made it so good was the voices of the cast. If you plucked out each one of them and put them in a band they would do very well for themselves. So I've been telling the world that Miriam took me to porn!! At the end of the first act the main couple have simulated sex on stage. He took his pants off, so you could see his backside, but not his front side. Then he goes and shows off the girls breast... which was really gratuitous. There was thrusting and grunting.
I was freaking out, I grabbed Miriam's arm - who was watching intently - and saying "OH MY G-D you took me to porn" under my breath. End scene. People in the audience freaked out. some older people left. Open scene to Act 2: the main couple having sex again!!! finishing really. But come on people. there was no warning!!! Then there was a gay couple and they started to kiss and a lady 2 rows in front of me said OUT LOUD "Oh No!!" I almost lost I was laughing so hard. But I said to Miriam, if they have sex I will be mortified. But all in all it was a really good show. I found out that Hilary Duff went the day b4 so that's annoying.

After the show we walked through times square and who do I see Bianca from All My Children!!! she heard me say that and she was on the phone but she got off the phone and stopped to pretend to look at a store that she wasn't interested in and that gave me a way to walk over to her. So Miriam took our picture and she was really, really sweet. I mean she couldn't have been nicer. She is getting married so that's why she isn't on the show at the moment. but she said she has no intention of leaving. which is really good, bc I really like her. The Picture will be impending. I haven't gotten my film developed.

We ate an early dinner at Mr. Broadway and it was the best pastrami sandwich ever!! so yummy. We talked a lot. It was just really nice to spend the whole day with her. Eating, walking, talking, stalking. watching a show and a movie. Miriam and I don't get to spend a lot of time together and almost never get to in the city doing stuff. So it was really nice. Miriam didn't want to take the subway (beats me why not) so we walked 30 blocks to the Harry Potter Imax 3D theater. I wanted to get there early bc last time I went it was packed and I did NOT want to sit in the front.

We talked and looked at stuff all the way there and when we got there, there was no line, not one person waiting and no one on the food line or in the bathroom either. oops!! but we got the seats I wanted and both of us had blisters and that killed bc we had to walk back to the car. Meh. B4 the movie started I was asking all these personal questions that she actually answered. She's very frank with me and I always appreciate it. she doesn't sugar coat anything!!

I know that I've seen the movie twice in the theater, and I saw the 3d Experience already. I know that I watch it at work all the time also. But you know what... I cried. again. It's always at the same part too. Even before it happened, I said to myself, "I'm good. I won't cry. There's no need." and then water works!!! When Voldermort is torturing Harry and you see his parents and his friends with the music I lose it!! I love Harry Potter. I can't help it. (Honey notice the blue converse... I'm just saying.)

After the movie we walked back to the car and walked through Columbus circle and it was very romantic bc of the fountains and lights. Miriam said she would approve if I got engaged there. I was like, "I'll get right on that. jees." Both of us had blisters and hurting feet, but finally getting to the car and sitting was most appreciative. And that was the day. So even though she doesn't read my blog I thank her for a really, really great day.

I didn't sleep that well last night. I woke up like at 7am and really didn't fall back to sleep. I kept thinking about Big brother 8 and that is even more irritating. At least let me think about something that actually matters!!

B4 the weekend my brother and sister - n - law had food delivered to the house for a full shabbos meal. It really was so nice of him. I almost cried. It was so sweet of him to think of me and my grandmother. He's not religious so the fact that he did it means even more. I've been making meal plans for Rosh Hashanah which is coming up soon. I'm going to be doing a lot of walking which is good. I will also be spending some time with the Glazers who are moving to Israel soon and that's gonna be really, really sad. I mean I know that they have been wanting to make this move almost there whole lives, I just can't help to think about pretty much growing up in their house. Whatever... there's nothing I can do about it.

I've finished the very fine show "The Forsyte Saga." I can't say enough about Rupert Graves. It was a terrific Masterpiece theater. The amount of crying I did was shocking to me. Ya I cry at the Potter, but not British Masterpiece theater stuff. I was just really touched by the characters and the acting was really great. Damien Lewis was perfect as the controlling sycophant husband. Rupert graves had a perfect touch of softness mixed with authority. I just love everything about this mini series. I recommend it to everyone. It's really long bc there is a part 2: the later generation, but it's just as good and has all the same people. It really is quite good.

I can't believe that michelle Williams and Heath Ledger broke up!!! It's crazy. They seemed like a normal couple, really down to earth and all that jazz. They should try counseling or something. They have a kid together!! They should try and make it work.

I watched a very exciting tie breaking tennis match between James Blake and Tommy Haas. I really thought that Blake had it, but literally by a half an inch he did not. I really like watching Tennis.

I am really looking forward to the end of the week and next week. Honey is coming and we will be going to see Damien Rice... Really Shane for me. But I think it's funny that Honey and I both had a similar Damien dream the same night. and we didn't really talk about him the night before. it was very strange.

Then we are going to see the Frames and Cara will be there as well. I am really looking forward to that as well. I noticed that the small theater near me is Finally showing Once. Maybe I'll go and see it!! All the food that will be consumed is worth the excitement. I can't wait for brunch. that's what it's all about people. Eating with the people you love.

I've been reading The Buffy the vampire Slayer comic book. It's a continuation from the show and they are really good. It's a little different from anything else that I have ever read. I mean I read archie's but there is a on of narration and there isn't that much in Buffy. So you really have to read it several times to understand what's going on. But it's really good. If you liked the show I would highly recommend picking that up. I have only read the first 2 comics so far.

I've been awaiting my Entertainment Weekly issue for the TV schedule that will be starting soon. There's going to be a lot of new tv this year. I can't wait to see what's going to be good and what's not.

I went to Linen's N Things with Shira today and I hate that place. I prefer Bed, Bath and Beyond. I could (and have) spend hours in there. Rochi also came over with her poopy Jersey. It was nice to visit with both of them.

This show kicked my ass!!! it was all worth it. I have a bad cold now that my boss gave to me but I'm sure being exhausted and tossed around didn't help any. So here are the pics. I didn't take that many bc I was being pushed too much, so I'm actually surprised these came out as well as they did. The pics that I took of Chris and Dom didn't come out at all. It's sad bc Chris looked all kinds of hotness.

I forgot to mention the Cold War Kids. I thought they were great live. Very spastic, lots of energy. I know some people thought they were weird. But I really enjoyed them. The lead singer has a great voice and they all worked well together.

I need about a month to recover. Honey and I had pretty much the front row to Muse last night and I can barely walk. It's amazing!!! they were amazing. Matt was having the hottest sex with his guitar and I lost it. He had his head on the stage and it was incredible. I have never been attracted to Matt Bellamy, but it all changed in that minute. Man Alive that was a great show. I can't even write anything proper bc I am so tired. There was a lot of smooshing and pushing and hitting and it was all worth it!!! incredible...

I watched the NBC one hour special last night, Victoria Beckham: Coming to America. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. I LOVED IT, L-O-V-E-D It!! She's great. Her husband is hot and what else can you ask for. She is not at all what I ever expected, bc she looks like a bitch, but she is so soft and sweet. I thought that special was great and was saddened to see that it was supposed to be a 6 hour series. Maybe I can rent it on Netflix or something.

I am very excited that I am going to be going to see Damien Rice and band (SHANE) in September. i had so many weird dreams the other night and it involved Damien turning into my cat, Muffin. I was talking to him after he watched me sleep and then he climbed into my lap but turned into Muffin. I sat there petting him and talking. It was so weird. Honey thinks i have an unconscious crush on him, I might. But I'm awful if that's true. Bc I love shane.

I'm also very excited to be seeing the Frames a few days after with C. that's going to be a great show also. I love Glen's voice. I can't believe he's actually dating Marketa.... SHE'S ONLY 19 and he's a 37 year old man!!! CRIZAZY!!

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix was AMAZING!!! I saw it alone... which is a little sad, but no one that was in the state or the country could go. I couldn't wait to see it and I'm glad that I did. It was so great. That Daniel Radcliffe can really act. I totally cried and I can't wait to see it again. I am supposed to be getting the book on the release date, so amazon says, but I almost don't want it to come so I get it for free.

I need 4 trees in my backyard trimmed and man alive that shit is expensive. Who knew!!

there really hasn't been anything going on that's why i haven't written a blog in a while.

I am awaiting news about The Frames concert on 9/10 at webster hall. I got a new cell phone. It's a really great phone. It has a camera and games. it's very exciting. I got it for free!!! that's always special. I also got the activation fee waived. There was also a deal from sprint to get $100 credit on my bill and I got that too!!!

I've been watching "Spooks" and I love that Rupert Penry Jones. I've been enjoying Netflix and watching all these great british things. I think everyone should get netflix.

Looking directly into my eyes and seeing to me, while I was freaking out and trying to sing also. That is a great freaking moment. I mean really!!! who gets to say that!!! I was glad that I told him later that it was pretty freakin fantastic that he did that!!!

HOLY CRAP!!! Damien Rice tonight!!!

I was going to write a great blog about seeing the amazing movie Once with Glen Hansard. But after what happened tonight after the Damien Rice show I needed to quickly talk about that. First let me say that Honey and I saw Damien b4 the show and requested Insane, which he did not play. Which I will talk about in a minute. The we saw Tomo and we said hey and he made fun of my Jersey accent bc I was like I'm from Jersey like you. He was doing stuff but when he was done he totally walked over to us and talked to us for like 10 minutes which was amazing!! I was able to tell him that he is one of my drum heroes even though I don't even play the drums and he was like well I have piano heroes and I don't play that!! I was like good point. Then he wanted to know who else was on the list. so I told him Carter Beauford and he said that he used to play in a band that used to tour around with DMB!!! and I thought that was so awesome!!! The I said Dom from Muse. We also asked him to play Insane and I remember and neither happened. :( but that's alright!!!

After the show Honey and I took a seat on the grass and we waited for Shane. Damien came out first and we didn't go over to him, he had a lot of people waiting so he was talking to them. He was really nice and gave everyone food and water. Honey took a oatmeal, chocolate chip cookie and a water, I took a water. It was so laid back. Finally, Shane came out and right away he started talking to us. I can't even remember all that we talked about bc we talked to him for more than an hour!!! We talked a lot about Music. Really I was silent for a long time, bc he makes me nervous bc I am so in love with him. Honey really had the ball in her court and was asking him a ton of questions. I gave him the picture of me and him and he was SOOO excited about it. He asked if he could keep it and I was like of course!!! He said that he was going to put it up on his wall!!! and he was NOT kidding!!! Then damien came over and it was too much!!! So once Damien came over I was able to talk normally. What's also funny is that Damien, without any sort of prompting from myself, said that he remembered us from the last time he was here. He saw the picture of me and shane and there was a look on damien that, to me, said that's a nice picture I should really do that more often. But that's just just a feeling. Anyway, so I said to him, "what happened to Insane? Who dropped the ball on that one?" and he said that they were about to play it but JOEL?!!? didn't want to. whatever, then I said and what happened to I remember?!?! and shane was like we would have been there all night!!!!!! and I was like so??? then this weird high girl came over to talk to damien. shane went to put his stuff on the bus. so we were standing there with this girl and damien. But b4 that we were able to tell him that we saw once and it was amazing!!! and glen is amazing. He was asking if it looked like a home movie. And we were telling him about it. It was amazing. We told him that we expected to see him in it and he was that he was supposed to be in it but he was in the studio, but he did help glen on some songs. CRAZY!!! it gets better!!!! so this weird girl totally interrupts and talks to him. The funny thing about was that at one point he looked at me to save him and I was like I can't do anything dude. So shane came off the bus and that's when we talked for a crazy long time.

We talked about music and man crying and his birthday and my birthday. He's a taurus and he was like oh your a gemini. He was like I'm a Bull. TOOO HOT!!! By this point I was talking much more and acting like myself again. he talked about his upcoming wedding and what he's going to wear. so I told him that I think he should wear a really nice shiny tie, with a vest and jacket. He was like you should come and dress me for the wedding!!! I was like I'm SOOO THERE!!!! He saying stuff that was really hot, and I said out loud, that makes me love you more. and he loved that!!! towards the end of the night, b4 we got to get in pictures with him. We somehow got to the topic of the beacon show of theirs and how that is the best show hands down by anyone that I have ever been to. he was like really!! and I was like yes, it was transcendent. He said that in Montreal they did an acoustic show and it was amazing. I asked if anyone taped it and he said he didn't know. I said is it wrong to say that I have a copy of the beacon show and I listen to it all that time. Should I not say that? and he was like you can say whatever you want!!! The window of opportunity opened for me and I took the chance I needed!!!! I said really??? anything?!?!?! and he was like not everything. I said bc I have things and questions that I want to ask. and he was like I plead the fifth!!! I said ok, let me tell you something!!! I said the day after Damien put out his little announcement about Lisa, we saw her in NY. and shane said "oh she told me about that, she rung me up!" Honey and I freaked the fuck out!!!! I grabbed his arm and freaked out. Honey immediately said, "WHAT DID SHE SAY?!?!?!" He was laughing and said "I should have known that it was the 2 of you!!!" I freaked out more and grabbed his arm again. He said, "After the snow patrol right?" and me and honey freaked out even more!!! I couldn't believe that Lisa had called him and talked to him about us!!! We told him what we said to her and gave her a small pep talk and it was very emotional and we were all almost crying. Shane said that Lisa called us really sweet girls!!! I cannot even believe it!!! then I said we changed the subject bc we were all about to cry so I brought up you shane!!! and he laughed and we told him that lisa told us that he was getting married and I told him the joke lisa said about no ring on his finger. I immediately got embarrassed and said I'm so embarrassed. I covered my face with my hands then I hid in his shoulder. It was so HOT!!!!! Then I saw tomo again and wanted to show him that I got a drum stick and I poked him with it. we had a laugh and he was going to steal it back, but I was like hey!!! that's mine now!!! The bus started and shane and I took the YUMMIEST!!! I MEAN THE YUMMIEST!!!! picture of my life!!! he was squeezing me so hard!!! it was so great. He hugged me and pretty much held me in his nook 4 times!!!!!! I almost started to cry bc I was just so happy!!! I couldn't believe that this was happening, that any of this night happened. When we hugged to say goodbye, I told him that I loved him and I gave him a kiss on the cheek. Then we said goodbye to damien who gave nice warm hugs.

I know that there is a lot of rambling but I had to quickly write this blog!!! I couldn't hold it in any longer!!!!! I LOVE SHANE!!!! I can't believe that Lisa called him and told him about us!!!! That night we met her was special not just for us!!! Shane told us some really great things!!! It was a great night!!!! what a great night for birthday hoopla start!!!!

Reality TV has lost it's mind!!!

What the hell happened last night? First on the CW on the model's show, Natasha loses to man faced Jaslene!!! Natasha was amazing and different. She had great personality and was a force to be wreckend with. Everyone was jealous of her talent!! Honey was livid, I was just mad. They really are stupid for not having Natasha win!!! I mean this picture where she is a man is crazy good. She even took foil from a gum wrapper to make it look like she had a grill on her teeth!!! her idea!! she really grabs a consept and runs with it. She's russian and got this hip-hop dude on target!!! She's amazing and it's really a shame that she didn't win bc she totally deserved to!!!

Then on American Idol Melinda that one with all the talent (again) was booted off!! What is going on here? I really think that it's a conspiracy so now Jordyn will win. Not to say she's not good, bc she is. but she is NOT better then Melinda!!! by any means. I feel that the conspiracy is that no one would believe that Jordyn could beat out Melinda in the final, but America would believe that Jordyn could out sing Blake. Who I love, he's different and contemporary. But he can't out sing Jordyn. American Idol wants Jordyn to win bc she is easier to package and market to America. So they kicked off Melinda prematurely.

At least Lost was AMAZING last night. I totally cried. It was great. The whole Charlie dying thing is very upsetting to me. I love him and don't want him to die, but when he started to cry b4 he jumped in was very upsetting to watch. The whole ep was really great. And almost made me forget about the earlier mishaps with reality tv.

Medium was also really good. I don't know if I realized that it was the season finale, but there were no scenes for next week, so I am guessing we are now on summer break. Scanlin yelled, like really yelled, at Allison last night and it was scary, but hot at the same time. I really like that guy, I think he's great.

I think he's a tall drink of water. A little brutish. But really manly and hot. He cried once on Medium and it was all kinds of hottness. Look at the way he wears his suits!!

Ugly betty was very good tonight. It was pretty sad. Kristen Chenowelth was on and she's totally adorable.

Lee Pace is going to be on a new ABC series called "Pushing Daisies". When I saw the commercial I freaked out!!! I love Lee Pace and I welcome him back to TV with open arms. He is an amazingly hot man!!!

Let me say that Jane Eyre is an amazing movie. But what's outstanding is that it's a better book. I love getting completely lost in books when they are good. There is nothing better. I know that I watch a ridiculous amount of television, bc I love tv. But what I love better is getting lost in a book. I know that I was supposed to read this book in high school and I'm sure I read the cliff notes, but I wouldn't have been able to appreciate Jane Eyre then.

BC he's HOT!!! and I love him!! I mean like I really love him. I could and would marry him. I also think that it'll be great to see Keane. It's gonna be a lot of fun. I think Rocco Deluca is going to be good also. I have a feeling their live show is really good. And it's not out of completely possibility that maybe perhaps someone special might be there. I don't know if I should say bc I don't want to jinx anything. But the special person has a show on FOX and I once asked him 2 questions. That's the only hint.

Grey's so far is very good. Jeremy London just showed up.... maybe it's the other London, I can't tell.

Tuesday - The Frames
While walking to the show I saw this handsome man talking on his cell phone. I first noticed his awesome shoes, then his perfect jeans that looked like they were made perfectly for his body, then his awesome shirt and great jacket. Then I saw the hair and I thought he was gorgeous right away before I even saw his face. Then like a dawning it hit me!!!! The jeans, the jacket, the hair!! It was GLEN HANSARD!!!!!!!!! I instantly grabbed Honey who was a little bit in her own world and she was totally caught off guard and was like WHAT??!?!?! my eyes were huge and I was like it's Glen!!! We stopped walking and I knew that he saw me. As soon as he was off the phone I was gonna make my move. I was totally freaking out at his hottness and the shock that he was even there!!! He got off the phone and started to walk away. I saw that his manager was waiting but I called out his name anyway and we walked over to him. He was really nice, not overly nice. But honey and I took pics with him. It was a really quick conversation. He said that he was on a pretty serious phone call and both Honey and I totally just looked at him with googly eyes. I remember telling him that he was amazing in DC when he opened for Damien and that it was sad that he didn't stay after. We also said that we were very excited for the show we were about to see. There were some other things but I really just don't remember bc it was so shocking!! I love that man!! The show was amazing!!! I mean really great. Town Hall is a great venue. It's pretty small, very warm. The violinist was amazing. The way his instrument swelled with the band was very moving. It was really a great show. I think it was probably amoungst my top ten!!! I got a pick and a setlist.

Thursday - The Fratellies
This was a nuts show bc there was some moshing and body surfing. Which can be fun but at a Fratellis show? It wasn't the right moment for that. The opneing band was alright, but while they were on stage I mapped out a whole business plan for them so they can be better. The #1 thing I thought they needed was Rehab all around, then some lessons, hot haircuts and finally some decent jeans!! But back to the Fratellis. The lead singer, John, who knew that he was actually really good looking? I sure didn't!!! but he really is! During the show some people were totally moshing on me and I was not happy. I braced myself and held onto the barrier and pushed my ass back so far that it was the length of 5 rows. .
I looked over at Honey who almost fell over bc she was laughing so hard. I didn't think that she was watching me, but she totally was and it made me laugh. I was just so annoyed. I only got bothered 2 more times during the rest of the show. so it must have worked. It was a great show Honey taped most of it and after the show she actually faught for that set list and GOT IT!!! I helped a little but I don't know if she really needed it. It was so unlike Honey to fight for the set list, but I was glad that she did. I got a pick. Outside the venue Honey and I waited for a little bit and it was such a short wait. All of a sudden Barry came out and I walked right over to him and took a pic. When I was in the pic with Barry I saw John walking to their car. In my head I was almost in full panic. NO ONE else was asking for pics or autographs so he was walking away. Everyone was just standing around looking.
So I yelled out John's name while still in the pic with Barry. I felt bad bc there wasn't enough time to get Honey in the pic with Barry, but I figured that John was more important. so I hopped in the pic with him and then I asked if he could take one with Honey. He then started walking again to the waiting car and I was at least able to tell him how much fun the show was and he said that he had a lot of fun too. With that he was gone.

Honey and I were the only ones that got a pic with him. I think the night of the Frames we were the only ones that got to meet Glen. Bc I eased dropped on a roadie and a manager. They said they were leaving in like 20 - 30 minutes and there were just too many people waiting. It was crazy.

In between that I met Honey's friend Mike and his wife Kaori. What a great couple. But the funny thing is that they totally looked like they stepped out of a magazine. We had a great conversation with them. Mike told this story about his childhood dog and I totally almost cried. They were really great to meet and I had a really great time.

Friday - Muse/My Chemical Romance
So we head back to Honey's side of town. We went back to Honey's house b4 the show and just chilled b4 the concert. We headed to Maryweather Post and got there around 3:30ish. There was already a pretty serious line happening. It was going to be a long day with all the Emo loving, painted faced, zippery pants wearing teenagers. But to our surprise Honey and I struck up a conversation with the guys behind us. An uncle and his nephew. Someone that was actually around our age and his 14 year old nephew. He was taking him to his first concert. We ended up playing cards together (my Barbie cards are always perfect for that long concert line). We made a pact together to stick together. We realized that there was no way that we were going to get into the pit, but we made a pact that we would all save each other seats. So after all the waiting we had really pretty decent seats. Muse was OUTSTANDING!!! They really blew the crowd away. I'm still unsure why they were opening up for My Chemical Romance. But whatever... So after they went off the stage Honey and I wanted to do some stalking. So we left our seats and went to look for the best place. We were waiting around the VIP area and there just seemed to be no hope. We struck up a conversation with these awesome boys from the area. Joey, Mark, Thomas and Mike. They are really great guys. So I found out that we really weren't in the right place and we all decided that we were going to walk across the venue to stalk properly. We ended up hanging out with these guys the whole rest of the night. While waiting at the gate I saw Tom. I yelled, "Tom, Tom Kirk. I know you can see me." and I saw him again, and finally the third time he came over. Honey and I were able to take a picture with him and he was seriously too cute for words. I kissed him on the cheek bc I couldn't take the british hottness. He did a head count. The 8 of us. Me, Honey, Mark, Thomas, Joey, Mike, Chrystal and one more of their friends. It was gonna happen for us. But then it didn't. for the full story about the bitchy gate keeper, please read Honey's blog. Every time I think about it I get mad. I know that it shouldn't really matter bc I've met them twice b4 but I really want it to happen for the boys. We said good night to all. Hopefully we will all get to go to the Muse show with the Cold war Kids in August. That should be a lot of fun!! I look forward to it!!! Moshing with the boys!!!

While all this hoopla was going down. I became obsessed with Jane Eyre. I also became obsessed with Toby Stephens. The british hotness is surely on top of the list. The way he cries is amazing. When I got home from Honey I went out the next day and I bought the movie. I started to re-read the book. Though I don't really remember reading it (really reading it) in High school. I'm sure I read the cliffs note. But I don't really remember. I also don't think I would have enjoyed this kind of book in High School. I hated reading in High School. I love to read now, it's just hard to fit it in with all the tv that's happening. But back to the complete hotness of Toby Stephens. It's hard to believe that he is Maggie Smith's son. Maybe he could be in a Potter movie!!! Maybe not. But it would be nice. He really is a hot hot man!!! His man crying is hard to come by and I don't know of anyone who does it quite as well. It makes me love him even more. Man alive he's hot. Look here!!!

While I was at Honey's house there was something wrong with my car. I wasn't sure what it was but I knew something was wrong. Honey and her mom and I looked at the tires and we didn't see anything. so I was thinking and Honey was thinking that it might be the alignment and that is crazy expensive to fix!!! so we took it to midas and the guy drove it around and lifted it up on those things and he found that it was the tire. There was a big dent in the tire. I remembered that I accidentally went over a curb last week. oops... so we got the tire fixed and went to the mall.

I finally go my pictures developed from the night of Snow Patrol that we met Lisa, Nathan and The lightbody. And here they are!!! Look at Lisa she's just beautiful. I love her and wish her all the luck in the world!!

Here is Hot Smoldering Nathan!!! He really is so good looking it's shocking!!! He's also so gentle. But the hug he gave was really firm. He's hot!!!

And here is The Lightbody!! He's such a goober!! But I think he's swell!! They really put on a great show that night. He sounded so good. He was also really funny that night.
I can't wait for their next album to come out.

So as I am sure everyone knows that our planet is falling apart but does everyone know that WE can change that. Just by doing little things. It costs only a dollar to plant a tree. There are many different organizations that you can donate to. Click here for more info. This week and weekend there were a lot of news programs focusing on things that can be changed. abc news, nightline, diane sawyer, good morning america, oprah, there are even Going Green website. There is so much we can all do. You can buy the energy saving light bulbs and they save on energy and your monthly electric bill.

I know that it's overwhelming but we can all do our part.

also in other news: I would like to send out my prayers to all the family and friends of everyone involved in the awful shootings at Virginia Tech. This was a senseless act and we are all pryaing for you.

On Oprah the otherday was a dialog about racism and sexism in America today. Please read this very interesting, compelling, impressive, well written and well thought out letter from poet/Actor Saul Williams. Thank you Honey for sending me the link. I actually remember this guy from a few episodes of "girlfriends".

On the heels of this, spoken word poet and hip hop statesman Saul Williams offers an eloquent response to Harpo's analysis of the problems plaguing rap:

Dear Ms. Winfrey,

It is with the greatest respect and adoration of your loving spirit that I write you. As a young child, I would sit beside my mother everyday and watch your program. As a young adult, with children of my own, I spend much less time in front of the television, but I am ever thankful for the positive effect that you continue to have on our nation, history and culture. The example that you have set as someone unafraid to answer their calling, even when the reality of that calling insists that one self-actualize beyond the point of any given example, is humbling, and serves as the cornerstone of the greatest faith. You, love, are a pioneer.

I am a poet.

Growing up in Newburgh, NY, with a father as a minister and a mother as a school teacher, at a time when we fought for our heroes to be nationally recognized, I certainly was exposed to the great names and voices of our past. I took great pride in competing in my churches Black History Quiz Bowl and the countless events my mother organized in hopes of fostering a generation of youth well versed in the greatness as well as the horrors of our history. Yet, even in a household where I had the privilege of personally interacting with some of the most outspoken and courageous luminaries of our times, I must admit that the voices that resonated the most within me and made me want to speak up were those of my peers, and these peers were emcees. Rappers.

Yes, Ms. Winfrey, I am what my generation would call "a Hip Hop head." Hip Hop has served as one of the greatest aspects of my self-definition. Lucky for me, I grew up in the 80's when groups like Public Enemy, Rakim, The jungle Brothers, Queen Latifah, and many more realized the power of their voices within the artform and chose to create music aimed at the upliftment of our generation.

As a student at Morehouse College where I studied Philosophy and Drama I was forced to venture across the street to Spelman College for all of my Drama classes, since Morehouse had no theater department of its own. I had few complaints. The performing arts scholarship awarded me by Michael Jackson had promised me a practically free ride to my dream school, which now had opened the doors to another campus that could make even the most focused of young boys dreamy, Spelman. One of my first theater professors, Pearle Cleage, shook me from my adolescent dream state. It was the year that Dr. Dre's "The Chronic" was released and our introduction to Snoop Dogg as he sang catchy hooks like "Bitches ain't shit but hoes and tricks..." Although, it was a playwriting class, what seemed to take precedence was Ms. Cleages political ideology, which had recently been pressed and bound in her 1st book, Mad at Miles. As, you know, in this book she spoke of how she could not listen to the music of Miles Davis and his muted trumpet without hearing the muted screams of the women that he was outspoken about "man-handling". It was my first exposure to the idea of an artist being held accountable for their actions outside of their art. It was the first time I had ever heard the word, "misogyny". And as Ms. Cleage would walk into the classroom fuming over the women she would pass on campus, blasting those Snoop lyrics from their cars and jeeps, we, her students, would be privy to many freestyle rants and raves on the dangers of nodding our heads to a music that could serve as our own demise.

Her words, coupled with the words of the young women I found myself interacting with forever changed how I listened to Hip Hop and quite frankly ruined what would have been a number of good songs for me. I had now been burdened with a level of awareness that made it impossible for me to enjoy what the growing masses were ushering into the mainstream. I was now becoming what many Hip Hop heads would call "a Backpacker", a person who chooses to associate themselves with the more "conscious" or politically astute artists of the Hip Hop community. What we termed as "conscious" Hip Hop became our preference for dance and booming systems. Groups like X-Clan, A Tribe Called Quest, Brand Nubian, Arrested Development, Gangstarr and others became the prevailing music of our circle. We also enjoyed the more playful Hip Hop of De La Soul, Heiroglyphics, Das FX, Organized Konfusion. Digable Planets, The Fugees, and more. We had more than enough positivity to fixate on. Hip Hop was diverse.

I had not yet begun writing poetry. Most of my friends hardly knew that I had been an emcee in high school. I no longer cared to identify myself as an emcee and my love of oratory seemed misplaced at Morehouse where most orators were actually preachers in training, speaking with the Southern drawl of Dr. King although they were 19 and from the North. I spent my time doing countless plays and school performances. I was in line to become what I thought would be the next Robeson, Sidney, Ossie, Denzel, Snipes... It wasn't until I was in graduate school for acting at NYU that I was invited to a poetry reading in Manhattan where I heard Asha Bandele, Sapphire, Carl Hancock Rux, Reggie Gaines, Jessica Care Moore, and many others read poems that sometimes felt like monologues that my newly acquired journal started taking the form of a young poets'. Yet, I still noticed that I was a bit different from these poets who listed names like: Audrey Lourde, June Jordan, Sekou Sundiata etc, when asked why they began to write poetry. I knew that I had been inspired to write because of emcees like Rakim, Chuck D, LL, Run DMC... Hip Hop had informed my love of poetry as much or even more than my theater background which had exposed me to Shakespeare, Baraka, Fugard, Genet, Hansberry and countless others. In those days, just a mere decade ago, I started writing to fill the void between what I was hearing and what I wished I was hearing. It was not enough for me to critique the voices I heard blasting through the walls of my Brooklyn brownstone. I needed to create examples of where Hip Hop, particularly its lyricism, could go. I ventured to poetry readings with my friends and neighbors, Dante Smith (now Mos Def), Talib Kweli, Eryka Badu, Jessica Care Moore, Mums the Schemer, Beau Sia, Suheir Hammad...all poets that frequented the open mics and poetry slams that we commonly saw as "the other direction" when Hip hop reached that fork in the road as you discussed on your show this past week. On your show you asked the question, "Are all rappers poets?" Nice. I wanted to take the opportunity to answer this question for you.

The genius, as far as the marketability, of Hip Hop is in its competitiveness. Its roots are as much in the dignified aspects of our oral tradition as it is in the tradition of "the dozens" or "signifying". In Hip Hop, every emcee is automatically pitted against every other emcee, sort of like characters with super powers in comic books. No one wants to listen to a rapper unless they claim to be the best or the greatest. This sort of braggadocio leads to all sorts of tirades, showdowns, battles, and sometimes even deaths. In all cases, confidence is the ruling card. Because of the competitive stance that all emcees are prone to take, they, like soldiers begin to believe that they can show no sign of vulnerability. Thus, the most popular emcees of our age are often those that claim to be heartless or show no feelings or signs of emotion. The poet, on the other hand, is the one who realizes that their vulnerability is their power. Like you, unafraid to shed tears on countless shows, the poet finds strength in exposing their humanity, their vulnerability, thus making it possible for us to find connection and strength through their work. Many emcees have been poets. But, no, Ms. Winfrey, not all emcees are poets. Many choose gangsterism and business over the emotional terrain through which true artistry will lead. But they are not to blame. I would now like to address your question of leadership.

You may recall that in immediate response to the attacks of September 11th, our president took the national stage to say to the American public and the world that we would "...show no sign of vulnerability". Here is the same word that distinguishes poets from rappers, but in its history, more accurately, women from men. To make such a statement is to align oneself with the ideology that instills in us a sense of vulnerability meaning "weakness". And these meanings all take their place under the heading of what we consciously or subconsciously characterize as traits of the feminine. The weapon of mass destruction is the one that asserts that a holy trinity would be a father, a male child, and a ghost when common sense tells us that the holiest of trinities would be a mother, a father, and a child: Family. The vulnerability that we see as weakness is the saving grace of the drunken driver who because of their drunken/vulnerable state survives the fatal accident that kills the passengers in the approaching vehicle who tighten their grip and show no physical vulnerability in the face of their fear. Vulnerability is also the saving grace of the skate boarder who attempts a trick and remembers to stay loose and not tense during their fall. Likewise, vulnerability has been the saving grace of the African American struggle as we have been whipped, jailed, spat upon, called names, and killed, yet continue to strive forward mostly non-violently towards our highest goals. But today we are at a crossroads, because the institutions that have sold us the crosses we wear around our necks are the most overt in the denigration of women and thus humanity. That is why I write you today, Ms. Winfrey. We cannot address the root of what plagues Hip Hop without addressing the root of what plagues today's society and the world.

You see, Ms. Winfrey, at it's worse; Hip Hop is simply a reflection of the society that birthed it. Our love affair with gangsterism and the denigration of women is not rooted in Hip Hop; rather it is rooted in the very core of our personal faith and religions. The gangsters that rule Hip Hop are the same gangsters that rule our nation. 50 Cent and George Bush have the same birthday (July 6th). For a Hip Hop artist to say "I do what I wanna do/Don't care if I get caught/The DA could play this mothaf@kin tape in court/I'll kill you/ I ain't playin'" epitomizes the confidence and braggadocio we expect an admire from a rapper who claims to represent the lowest denominator. When a world leader with the spirit of a cowboy (the true original gangster of the West: raping, stealing land, and pillaging, as we clapped and cheered.) takes the position of doing what he wants to do, regardless of whether the UN or American public would take him to court, then we have witnessed true gangsterism and violent negligence. Yet, there is nothing more negligent than attempting to address a problem one finds on a branch by censoring the leaves.

Name calling, racist generalizations, sexist perceptions, are all rooted in something much deeper than an uncensored music. Like the rest of the world, I watched footage on AOL of you dancing mindlessly to 50 Cent on your fiftieth birthday as he proclaimed, "I got the ex/if you're into taking drugs/ I'm into having sex/ I ain't into making love" and you looked like you were having a great time. No judgment. I like that song too. Just as I do, James Brown's Sex Machine or Grand Master Flashes "White Lines". Sex, drugs, and rock and roll is how the story goes. Censorship will never solve our problems. It will only foster the sub-cultures of the underground, which inevitably inhabit the mainstream. There is nothing more mainstream than the denigration of women as projected through religious doctrine. Please understand, I am by no means opposing the teachings of Jesus, by example (he wasn't Christian), but rather the men that have used his teachings to control and manipulate the masses. Hip Hop, like Rock and Roll, like the media, and the government, all reflect an idea of power that labels vulnerability as weakness. I can only imagine the non-emotive hardness that you have had to show in order to secure your empire from the grips of those that once stood in your way: the old guard. You reflect our changing times. As time progresses we sometimes outgrow what may have served us along the way. This time, what we have outgrown, is not hip hop, rather it is the festering remnants of a God depicted as an angry and jealous male, by men who were angry and jealous over the minute role that they played in the everyday story of creation. I am sure that you have covered ideas such as these on your show, but we must make a connection before our disconnect proves fatal.

We are a nation at war. What we fail to see is that we are fighting ourselves. There is no true hatred of women in Hip Hop. At the root of our nature we inherently worship the feminine. Our overall attention to the nurturing guidance of our mothers and grandmothers as well as our ideas of what is sexy and beautiful all support this. But when the idea of the feminine is taken out of the idea of what is divine or sacred then that worship becomes objectification. When our governed morality asserts that a woman is either a virgin or a whore, then our understanding of sexuality becomes warped. Note the dangling platinum crosses over the bare asses being smacked in the videos. The emcees of my generation are the ministers of my father's generation. They too had a warped perspective of the feminine. Censoring songs, sermons, or the tirades of radio personalities will change nothing except the format of our discussion. If we are to sincerely address the change we are praying for then we must first address to whom we are praying.

Thank you, Ms. Winfrey, for your forum, your heart, and your vision. May you find the strength and support to bring about the changes you wish to see in ways that do more than perpetuate the myth of enmity.

Being a regular on a daytime soap opera, but not just any soap, we are talking about General Hospital. And you are the sister of a main character and has several story lines before you left the show...

Being a main character on a prime time soap on upn? The show in question is "American Heiress".

i have to say in my opinion I would think that General Hospital would be a better choice. I know that the other show is on prime time, but NO ONE!!! I mean no one watches it. I was only watching bc I was flipping during commercials and I saw this girl that was on my soap. and was thinking to myself why would she do that? why? The actress that I am talking about is Alicia Leigh Willis. Tell me your thoughts...

Lisa Hannigan, Gary Lightbody and Damien Rice

I titled this blog with these 3 names bc apparently everyone is finding my blog by searching these 3 people and the "scandal" surrounding these three people and what I wrote on my blog. I haven't really even been in the loop bc of the Passover holiday but Honey told me today that there was some talk on Snow Patrol boards and I found on Damien boards that some people have a problem with the truth. I can't even believe that I would be called a liar and then to call Honey a liar as well is beyond preposterous. Why anyone would lie on a personal blog is beyond me. NO ONE even reads my blog so why would I lie on it? Why would I tell a detailed conversation with Lisa and lie about that? Why would Honey post the same exact story if we were liars?!?!? Please get a life!!! If you can’t tell that Lisa was kidding when she was making ME feel better about Shane’s engagement then you need to re-read my blog. She is an amazing person who has a very funny personality and she was joking!!! Instead of being mad or jealous about Gary and Lisa we should be happy if in fact they are dating bc they are both great people who both are so gentle so it would be great if they were together.

Fantastical things happen to me when meeting bands. I have crazy ass conversations with people famous and not. Just read my blog and you’ll see. I on purpose did not post anything on any boards bc I knew that people would think that it wasn’t true. Enough…. I’m done. If you want to believe the truth then great, if you don’t than I don’t care.

Rochi has a funny nickname for Sanjia on American Idol… Sangina. It made me laugh. Anyway, Passover is tiring. Turning the kitchen over and making the first seder. It’s a lot of hard work, man. I can’t wait till it’s over bc it’s just a lot of work.

last night my heart broke... twice

I don't even really know where to start this blog. I guess I'll start it at the beginning.

I headed to the city after work and found no parking in the WV so I parked in the usual spot on 3rd and 9th instead. Honey met me in the car and while we waited for the 6pm parking time. Cara met up with us and we were talking in the car. Cara dropped a bomb shell on both me and Honey. She told us that Damien Rice and Lisa Hannigan were officially over. Honey and I looked at each other and we were like they haven't been together in a long time. Cara says no there was something on stereogum and Damien's official site that says that there creative relationship is over. I screamed and honey was yelling too. I was suddenly depressed. I thought that it had to be a horrible internet rumor but Cara said that it was on Damien's site. After some more talking, pizza and beer we said goodnight to Cara and went off to the SNOW PATROL concert!!!

When we got there we decided to hang back which was fine bc we somehow ended up of the equivalent 4th row. silversun pick ups went on and they were meh... they were very loud and all their songs sounded the same. The lead singer who played guitar was ok, but not worth it. Then Ok Go went on and they were a lot of fun. The lead singer went out into the crowd and bumped into honey and passed right by me. It was cool because it wasn't expected. They had these cool things that went crazy with air and it was neat. I guess that word makes me sound really old. But I liked it.

During the show honey and I kept saying to each other how awesome it would be if Lisa came out and sang for "set the fire on the 3rd bar". But she didn't. But he pulled up this girl in the audience from Glasgow and she sang with the lightbody and it was soooo good. I was so amazed. Honey didn't think it was that good but I did. The whole show was amazing. Gary had soooo much energy. He flying all over the stage and slamming his head. Nathan the guitarist is SMOLDERING!!! he was amazing. he really is so hot and he's just the sweetest guy. The lights were great, very u2 of them. But it was great. they kinda stole the lighting but that's alright. We still love them.

After the show Honey and I were like lets go home, then when we headed outside we were like let's just pass by the exit and see if anyone is waiting. There were some waiting so we thought we would wait for like a half hour. We were standing by the van and I decided to move Honey and myself away from the crowd and closer to the door. which was perfect bc 2 min after we did that Nathan "smoldering irish man" Connolly came out and if we were all standing in the other place he would have left. So Nathan came out and he was so flippin hot I had to ask for a hug and bless me thank goodness I did bc he is so hot!!!! I mean really hot!!! He was so sweet as well, he kept apologizing to only me and honey for making us wait outside for him. it was the cutest thing... HOT!!! He gave a really great hug as well. Nice and tight. Then in the door way I saw her... IT WAS LISA HANNIGAN!!! Oh my word. I freaked out. She came out with Gary and i litterally looked at Honey and said out loud "WHAT DO I DO?!?!?" Thank goodness for her quick thinking she said pic with gary first... ok done. we both got a pic with him and we were both able to tell him that he was amazing and his voice was amazing. He was looking exhausted. I mean he literally put his whole body into that show.

Then we quickly went over to Lisa and I put my hand on her arm and asked if we can talk to her. She said of course. And I started right away with OMG we weren't even able to be on the computer today and a friend told us what happened today. Honey and I sort of tag teamed her in the fact that when I would finish talking honey would continue. so I don't really remember who said what but I'll do my best. We told her that we were so upset and thought that maybe it wasn't true and that we were devastated. She said that when she heard about it she was also very upset. That stopped both Honey and me and made us realize that maybe this wasn't a planned or discussed decision. There were definite tears in her eyes and I almost lost it and I think Hon had tears in her eyes as well. We told her that she is amazing and that she has her own set of fans. We told her that she is absolutely incredible and that we love her, Honey actually said I AM IN LOVE WITH YOU!!! It was so meant to be that she was there and we were able to talk to her. We all just were in shock and she said that she was here to support Gary Lightbody, which I am guessing that she is officially dating him. And she should be starting on some solo work within the next couple of weeks. She looked tired, she looked like she needed support and that's what we were trying to give her. She is just the sweetest thing in the whole world. Honey told me that I was touching her the whole time and I don't even remember doing that. But it was cold out and I was treating her like I would treat a friend who is going through a hard time and if it's cold out. I love her. I don't love her like Honey love's her, but I love her a whole lot. While we were talking to her we totally missed the rest of the band. eh, what are you gonna do? We met the best one's anyway. So that was the first heart break of the night. To lighten the mood I started asking questions about Shane. Lisa told me that he is one of the sweetest, nicest people you could ever meet. I said that's why I am in love with him. And she said that he just got engaged. (heart break #2). I was like NONONONONOOOOO!!!!! I was so sad, and she said don't worry there's no ring on his finger, he doesn't have kids yet, you could still break it up. Honey was laughing and said, "Lisa!!" I also laughed a bit and said, "you're the best." She said that he thinks no one loves him and I said you tell him that I, YETTA, love him!!!! She laughed and said she would. I also asked when his b-day was and she forgot but said that she thinks he's a taurus, but that he has a summer b-day. so really who knows, but at least it's a little closer to knowing then not knowing anything. (I know I am crazy for shane). Honey and I were both able to get pictures with her. No one else talked to her except for us. When it was time for her to leave she gave us both a hug and we told her she's amazing and we love her. Once in the van I made eye contact with her and I waved and she waved back and the van was off.

Honey and I lost it!!! absolutely lost it. We called Cara right away and honey told her what happened and we freaked about it and Cara laughed at us. I still can't believe what went down last night. When I woke up this morning I was all depressed, I still am a bit. I feel a little like I did after not meeting U2 when I slept on the street. but not that severe. And then learning that Shane is engaged just made it hurt a little bit more.

Once we got home we turned on the computer and read the official statement that was on Damien's site. To say that it is cold is putting it lightly. I even heard that Lisa actually quit the band 30 minutes b4 their Munich show. but I don't know if that's true.

"After much thought and discussion Damien has decided that his professional relationship with Lisa Hannigan has run its creative course. As a result Lisa will not be appearing at any of the upcoming live shows. Lisa is embarking on her own artistic endeavours and there are no plans for them to work together in the foreseeable future. The current band on tour at the moment are - Damien Rice, Joel Shearer, Shane Fitzsimons, Tom Osander & Vyvienne Long."

I don't even have words for this. Everyone is speculating that it's Damien's fault. I certainly think it is. I really think that he told Lisa that she was spending too much time with Gary or her solo stuff and said that's enough. I don't want to be mad at Damien but it's hard not to be. He can be really difficult and he certainly makes life for himself more difficult then it needs to be.

I really don't know what to say to this. It is greatly upsetting to me and I want to talk to damien about it. But I don't know if that will ever happen. I am beyond words of thankfulness that Honey and I got to talk to Lisa and maybe make her feel a little better.

So I was watching the late night movie on ABC, some crap called "entropy" with Stephen Dorff and who shows up? BONO!!! ala popmart!!! I couldn't believe it!!! than larry and sort of Edge and Adam!!! weird, weird, weird!!! I tried looking for a clip of it on youtube and couldn't find anything related to this movie. But here's a link to the imdb. It was not a very good movie, though it involves everyone's fantasy of being friends with bono enough to get advice from him. And having Larry Mullen Jr. show up in your bedroom.

In short: He was amazing!!! check out some of these Clips from the show. I think he did a really great job playing a man who has severe brain damage from an accident that happened when he was a little boy. He pretty much played a child who had a savant ability to play piano. It pained me to see him in pain and scared. Even though it wasn't real, he was so convincing that I believed his pain and that upset me.

I loved when he called his dad, "papa". That broke my heart a bit. You know his kids call him papa and that's just the sweetest thing in the world.

The begining of the show when dave played piano it wasn't really him, but when he played later with House that was all him!! And he was amazing!!! Who knew that he was THAT good at playing piano. You can also watch clips on fox for some extra interviews. Hugh Laurie calling dave "band" is pretty funny.

I was wondering if Dave really shaved his head for this part of the show? If anyone knows let me in on the secret. Bc I could see Dave doing it, but maybe his wife was like, "NO WAY!!" You never know though.

As a whole the episode was great. The shole storyline with House was really interesting.

Nothing is really going on at all. But I wanted to post this HOT picture of Damien that I saw on Honey's blog. Bc it really is note worthy. I really can't wait to see him again!!! He really is one of my favorites. I do love that Shane Fitsimmons as well. Even though Damien has a grumpis personality, he has a really wonderful spirit. He certainly makes things more difficult for himself then they need to be. But I think he's a great person. I still can't believe how hot he is in this picture!!!

I wanted to also mention two of the most underrated television shows out there today. The first on is "Brothers and Sisters". It's such a well written show. It's the first role that I don't get irritated by Calista Flockhart. Rob Lowe isn't as annoying as per his usual roles and his hair looks really good. I love Miss Sally Field as the matriarch of this ridiculous family is brilliant. They almost hired Betty Buckley (I think - she was the mom in eight is enough) and I'm so glad they went with Sally Field. Dave Annable who plays the druggy soldier Justin, who is always almost about to cry. He's the sensitive brother and I like that. Matthew Rhys who plays the gay lawyer Kevin. He's so funny and smart. I love the way he says his "L" bc you always hear the hint of his accent, he's from Wales. Those are my favorite family members. The rest of them are good but I love these the best. All the characters have a lot of layering and the dysfunction in the family make you feel normal. I want to be in this family. The other underrated show that I love, love, love is Medium. The relationship that Allison has with her husband you would think that they are really married. They have so much chemistry together. The relationship she has with detective Scanlon is also really great. I just find him completely attractive. And he's sort of British, his dad is british and he was born in England but then moved to Canada. Who knew? Jake webber, Allison's husband is also really attractive and I also like the way he say's his "L" words bc you hear the hint of accent in his voice. This show is also so well written. I was actually scared watching it the other week and nothing scares me. It has great stories and it's a really great premise for a show.

Congrats to Lost for being amazing last night. I think next week is going to be even better. I was slightly attracted to patch man, but I don't know why - he's totally evil.

Thanks to Honey for my AWESOME package that I got yesterday!!! I am re-watching Spooks and I love it!!! i tried to watch the Robin Hood, but I didn't think it was that good. But I'll give it another try another time.

Overall I was very happy about the entirety of the show. In my opinion the three shockers that did not win were: Pan's Labyrinth - I didn't see it but everyone was talking about it and it won all these other awards. Listen - the song from beyonce blows me away and I HATE beyonce. She was robbed. I guess I have to remember that everyone is a staunch democrat and they would vote for an inconvenient truth song. And last Edie Murphy - I wonder if he's pissed. Everyone thought it was a sure bet that he was going to win. I'm not that upset that Alan Arkin won, but I do wish that Marky Mark won. But it's alright. The rest of the show was alright, I thought Ellen did a great job and she was really funny.

Alright let's get to the most important thing: The dresses!!

Cate Blanchett is my favorite actress and she looks amazing. I always admire her style and I love what she wears. She's always willing to take a chance and I appreciate that. This dress she is wearing is stunning. The whole thing was a glitter fest!!! Love it!!

These two dresses are my favorite of the night by far.

Penelope Cruz has amazing lines and I love the bottom of the skirt. What a beautiful choice. I love the color and the style. Very, very nice.

These are two lovely British women and they are dressing to kill. Helen Mirren wore a stunning dress. All the tiny detail is amazing. I love how is sparkled. There was a layer of sparkle under the chiffon. Lovely.

Kate looked gorgeous in this color. It is a very simple dress but still modern. Love it.

Mis J. hud not the best choice in dresses. I really do not like the jacket. It just doesn't look right with that dress. I love, L.O.V.E. the pockets in the dress, but she has looked nicer in the past. I loved her dress that she wore when she sang, DAMN DIVA!!! But this was just ok.

Jada - Her hair and make up looked fabu. I like this dress but it's very tight. You have to be super, super thin to pull that off. I liked it very much.

Beauties in blue. Maggie looks amazing in this dress. The color is great on her with her dramatic makeup. I love the black sparkles on the dress that matched the bottom of the dress. She was robbed out of a nomination but she sure showed them!!!

Emily blunt looks great. I love her hair. It's very old school and pretty. I like the dress as well with the bare neck line. Job well done.

Gwenyth I thought looked beautiful!! I love her hair and I really like the simplicity of this dress, even though looking close it's not simple. I really like the color as well.

Reese looked AMAZING!! This dress was everyone's favorite. I can see why. It's not my favorite but it's certainly one of the best. Again her hair looks great, simple makeup, not that much jewelry. If you notice the big trend this year was bracelets. Lots of diamonds in the bracelets. The bottom of this dress is great with the colors fading. Very beautiful.

J. Lo looked really sweet. I love this dress bc the jewelry is already attached. Like Rachel Weisz's dress. When there is jewelry already on the dress is great. The diamonds on J. Lo look hot. Her hair is really nice also. I like the softness of both colors of these dresses. I like the satin look of Rachel's dress. The only criticism I would have is that Rachel doesn't need to wear that necklace, bc there is jewelry on her dress already. But both ladies did a great job.

Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts are pretty much the same person except for the 10 inches that separates them. Nicole looked amazing. I love the color of this dress and I loved the cut of it. On the edge of the dress there is an almost metallic look and it's different and I like it. Her hair was great as well. (notice the bracelet).

Naomi on the other hand - I liked the color very much and the cut was nice. But the things on her arms? I am not feeling that. But her hair and makeup are very nice. Also the bling around her neck... Nice one!!!

Meh on both these dresses. There could be many things to do to both of them to make them pretty. Kirsten's collar and Cameron's bottom. Kirsten actually found her dress on the internet, she should have tried it on first. The dress is alright, just alright, without that dumb collar. Cameron usually looks like such a mess that this looks was ok for her. Her makeup and jewelry are great so it makes up for her sub par dress.

Do I really need to say anything about these 2 not men? Clive = MAN ALIVE!!!! Love the hands in the pockets, you exude confidence and that's your hottest accessory. I also really like your suit.

James MacAvoy - your hot!!! I love the suit with the slim tie and I like your shoes... mostly I just like you.

The beauties in blue brought there Men in black!! With dresses like that the best accessory is a fine man. Nicely done on both accounts.

I really liked this dress. I love the color and I love the simplicity of it. I really like pink and black together. The belt is great and accentuates her great body. I love the back of the dress. She's a beautiful girl and she has a great, if not the greatest, stylist today so I knew she would wear something really great. I might have wanted something with a little sparkle. but I'll get over it bc Cate Blanchett was all sparkle. Her hair and makeup look amazing. Her dress at the Golden Globes was one of my favorite of the year.

<-I do not like red carpet dress. I think she could have done so much better. ->This dress she wore when she sang her powerhouse song, "Listen" and she looked stunning. All the "Dreamgirls" wore red and I wish they would have ALL worn red on the red carpet.

The wrong way and the right way to wear a necklace. Look at that Bling on Adriana Barraza from "Babel". Her dress wasn't great but the necklace was. Meryl Streep's dress was alright, She should have done better being that she was the fashion devil in the movie she was nominated for. Prada could have given her a way better dress.

On other news THANK YOU HONEY FOR GETTING ME THE DAMIEN RICE FOR MY BIRTHDAY!!!! I CAN NOT WAIT TO SEE HIM!!! and Shane!!!

TV in general has been really good lately. The Black Donnelly's premiered last night and it started slow but definitely got more interesting. Worth watching if you haven't seen it, it will be on again on Thursday at 10pm on NBC.

I always look forward to them but I always end up hating them bc ya know why? THEY SUCK!!!

first let's say the disappointment I feel for Justin Timberlake is surprising. If I were his friend this is what I would tell him. There are literally thousands of bands and solo artists. There are so many ppl. who put out great albums this year. But how many are actually nominated for best album? 5!! 5 out of more than a million or so. And you were one of those 5. It truly is an honor to be nominated if you any sort of stock in the Grammy's. If I were you I wouldn't care bc your video for "what goes around" is brill!! You're hot in that video and you are doing great on tour. so who cares about the grammy's? Not me!!! but congrats on your 2 that you did win.

Let me move on to Brenda NOT WINNING for "my grammy moment"!!! How could she not win!??!?! it is completely beyond me!!!! The other 2 girls were alright, but Brenda was amazing!!! she is the only on that had extreme talent and had that X-factor!!! HOW COULD SHE NOT WIN!?!??!?!?!??! I don't understand it? It's been a couple of days, you would think that I would be over it... and I am not. I am over JT not winning album of the year bc I don't mind that the dixie chicks won. It's supposably a good album. But Brenda not winning really sticks in my craw!!

Crazy week of concerts!!!

So my vacation totally wasn't long enough. But I had a good time. Last I left off was the day after seeing MattyNay at the Cutting room and sort of hanging out with him at Starbucks. Honey came in on Sat and I met her in the city. We had yummy pizza at this really great place on 23rd between 7th and 8th or 6th. Somewhere around there. It's a little hole in the wall but they have great pizza. Then we went to get coffee, but first we got sidetracked at Radio Shack and we almost both bought the razor phone for $19.99 with a $36 activation fee. But we didn't and had starbucks instead. Then we headed over to msg and got to our seats. I ended up seeing these 2 girls that I know from Matt shows and talked to them for a bit.

Seeing Matt on that big stage was so nice. It felt natural. He only played 6 songs which kinda sucked, but at least he had this great opportunity. It was a proud moment. A lot of people were there for him and there was a nice response from the crowd. When he finished he almost took out John when he was leaving the stage. He couldn't get out of there quick enough. I think he either went to go vomit, went to cry into his wife's arms, drink himself to oblivion or all the above. It was a very proud moment for a Matt Nathanson fan to see him at MSG. I was proud and I hope that one day he will be there again and it'll just be for him.

Gomez were alright nothing special. It was a little boring. But then O.A.R. came on stage and the place erupted. They really have a decent following. I was surprised by it. The funny thing is that everyone is too young to realize that O.A.R. stole everything they do from DMB. But it was alright, it was nice to hear and see the energy of the crowd. They were actually filming it for a dvd or something. We left the show a bit early. I got a set list for Gomez and the call sheet with MattyNay's name on it.

Sunday morning Honey and I went for brunch with Rochi at French Roast. It was really nice. We had some laughs. I couldn't get my mimosa and that totally sucked. there's some law in NY and NJ that says you can't order alcohol b4 noon on a Sunday. DAMN THE MAN!!!

I took Honey to Grand Central and sent her off to her friend in CT.

I met Honey in the city on Wed. and we went for sushi then headed over to Bowery ballroom to see Paulo Nutini. There were 2 openers. The first guy was awful. The second band was Musiq soul child and they were really good. They had a white guitarist and he was really quite good. He was so into all the songs, it was enjoyable to watch and he looked really good in his jeans. I got a setlist from them.

Paulo finally hit the stage and he was great. At times it was really mellow, but for the most part he really was full of energy. His ass was hanging out the whole night and I was surprised that he wears tighty wighties. They were filming it for a BBC thing. He sang an extended version of 'Jenny Don't be Hasty' and it was the highlight of the show. It actually was a really, really short show. He ended with "Rehab" an Amy Winehouse song. It was really good. There were a lot of scotts and britts at the show. It was a lot of fun. After the show Honey and I waited for Paulo to come out. We only waited for a 1/2 hour or so, it was really cold out. But he came out and we both got to take a picture with him and he was off and so were we.

Honey came to work with me the next day and that was fun. She got to meet my boss and see where I work everyday. I packed a lunch for the both of us and we ate together while watching spooks.

Friday we drove back to her house and picked up her sister. We hung around for a bit and relaxed. We took the metro into DC and had some sushi. Then we had starbucks. We headed to the venue and missed the first 2 songs of Pink. Our seats were right in front of the section and it felt like I was going to fall over the edge. But it was great bc we could see everything. Pink was amazing. She ended up doing this Cirque de solei thing with the curtain/rope thing and it was awesome!!! My eyes bugged out of my head and my mouth dropped to the floor. Honey and I were losing it!! It was madness. While she was swinging and spinning on this thing she was singing 'sweet dreams'. It was so amazing.

Then JT came out and the place when crazy. I felt like a teenage girl. I was screaming like it too. The stage was set up so cool. there were different levels of the stage. It was a center stage and it came to the sides all the way up to section 100's and the floor was interesting. They had outer and inner stages. on the way outer stage there was a bar. Those seats cost $200 or something crazy. It was cool bc Justin danced and walked on the bar. It was pretty awesome. There were screens and they had his image on it and it was really cool. The band was amazing and they were on these platforms that were raised and lowered all over the stage. There were trap doors and dancers. At one point it was like watching porn, it was so awesome!! Timbaland was there and it was so cool. There was an intermission which was weird. It was a dj doing house music, with the screens and images on the screens. It was weird. this is the first concert that I've ever been to where there were dancers. It was so much fun. JT did all the good songs. I know Honey taped a lot of it and it'll probably be on you tube soon. He played piano and guitar pretty well. He changed three times. He looked really good.

We hung out for the rest of the weekend and saw "children of men" and that was really good. It was a very heavy movie. the directing was amazing. Clive was so good in this movie. It was just very well done and it's a shame that Alfonso Caron isn't nominated for best director. We had some starbucks and stayed at the mall for a while until Honey's mom picked us up.

we watched a preview for this movie called 'once' with glen hansard and his band member from The Swell Season. It looks so good, I really want to see that movie. I'm looking forward to seeing the frames when they come to town.

I went home on Monday and it was a pretty easy drive. It was very windy, but other than that it was a fine ride.

I've been watching a lot of television. I finished watching all the seasons of spooks and now I'm sad. :( I can't wait until it comes on again. I need me some Rupert Penry Jones!!! I've been watching Dr. Who with Christopher Eccelston. It's really cheesy and campy. But I like it. Heroes has been really good. Lost comes on tonight and I can't wait. 24 has been alright. slow at some points but still really good. So far it's better than last year.

Nothing else is really going on. I'll try and post some pics when I get a chance. I have midlake at the end of the week with cara. That should be a lot of fun. I really like the album. Speaking of good albums The Fertelli's are really great. The are a mix between arctic monkey and franz ferdinand.

Vacation

It really hasn't felt like much of a vacation. Everyday I've had to just do the stuff that I normally just don't have the time to do. I cleaned the bathroom, went massive food shopping, vacuumed, the poor cats had a vet appointment, I've had to help my grandmother with stuff and do a ton of other errands. Yesterday was the first day that it was about me and what I wanted to do.

I went to see Dreamgirls and that Jennifer Hudson was amazing. She can blow!! She was better then Beyonce in performance and singing wise. You know when you hear a really amazing voice and it makes your eyes water and you get a huge smile on your face. That was me every time Jennifer Hudson opened her mouth to sing. I hope she wins an oscar. She really was incredible.

Honey asked me to give it a grade and it's a strong B+. The weakest link in the movie was Jamie Foxx. His voice was the worst out of everyone and he had a really complicated character, but didn't do much with it. Eddie Murphy was good but every time he sang it reminded me of Donkey from Shrek. I don't think he should win the Oscar. Beyonce's song "Listen" was very good, and I'm glad she wasn't nominated bc she really didn't deserve one. Anika Noni Rose was also very good. My grandmother also liked the movie very much.

Then I headed to the city to meet up with a friend from The French Culinary Institute. I asked her to meet me at the Starbucks near The Cutting Room. In the back of my head I knew that Matt Nathanson was going to be there for coffee before his show, and he was. I had a really nice time with Sandy. While we were sitting there I saw the guy from the old SNL band. But I couldn't remember his name. About 10 minutes later MattyNay came in. I called him over and asked if he wanted to join us and sadly he said no. He said that he really needed to zone out b4 the show. boo!! But I was told him that I was going to his MSG show where he is opening for OAR and Gomez. So he said to get there early bc his set is gonna be really quick. The I asked how can we see him b4 or after and he was like I don't think it's gonna happen bc there's too much going on and his wife will be there. boo!! though I'm glad his wife will be there. He's like ok I'm gonna get coffee, I was like wait... So I gave him a gift card for starbucks and he's like you don't have to do that, why do you always do that. I said he shouldn't have to pay for his coffee and I reminded him about getting us into his last SOLD OUT cutting room show and we didn't have to pay. He's like it wasn't a big deal. I LOVE HIM. L.O.V.E. Him!! He sees some other fans and where does he sit?!?! right behind me. I sweetly tapped him on the back and he turned his head and was a little bit upside down... it was cute!! and I said that the guy from SNL came in b4, what's his name? and he said GE Smith, I said I knew you would know! and then he said ya he's playing tonight b4 me. I was like huh. then he said ya when he was on SNL he had a problem with (using his finger he scratched under his nose) you know. I was like really and I did the same motion and he was uh huh. Then he went back to what he was doing and so did I. I forgot to mention that he took out his journal and was writing. That's the dream people. I don't know if he was writing a set list, if he was writing a song or a journal entry... but he was writing.

It was around 8pm and Sandy was leaving. Rochi came around 8:20ish. As I waited for her I pretended to write while I eased dropped on matt. He had some friends meet him, like actual friends. Not super fan pseudo friend - that's so sad. They were helping him write the set list. His friend just called him MattyNay. I went to the bathroom and bumped into John and Eric - his band mates. It was getting later and Rochi told me she's going to the Dominican Republic for presidents weekend. Matt's Friends left and he was alone again. I tapped him on the back again and he leaned back in the same cute way. and I said Matt, ya know it's almost like we actually had coffee together. he smiled and said but we totally did. I said no we didn't. And Talie came and we started getting ready to leave, but I bothered Matt one last time. And I asked if we could take a picture together. And he said of course. And I was going to take, but then talie offered. So she took it. Then I asked again about seeing him at the msg show and he said it's probably not that likely. boo!! but reminded me to get there early. I said that we will bc we bought the ticket to see him, not OAR or Gomez. he said thanks. Then I told him our section, which I'm sure went in one ear and out the other. I also told him that his name was bigger (not just the length) but actually bigger then gomez's name and he was like really. I told him he should find a ticket so he could see it. Then I reminded him that his wife was at that Irving Plaza show and he was like that's right she was there. And I nicely asked him what his wife did and he told me that she works for a pharmacutical company working in HR. We said bye and I think there was a hug somewhere in there. oh and he also said that my sweater was really soft. I LOVE HIM!!! too cute.

Anyway - the show was soooo good. He actually played about 5 songs with his band which was really cool. And he has a new drummer and I have to shout it THANK GOODNESS HE HAS A GOOD DRUMMER AT LAST!!!!! It was a new positive confidant energy on stage and I was so happy that he has a good drummer. Rochi and Talie had a really good time. Though they left b4 his last song which was disappointing, they had a good time at least.

I left almost right away bc the show started late and it was FREEZING bitter cold out. On the way back to the car I found head phones on the ground, we'll see if they work. When I started the car it didn't start at first bc it was so cold, but thank G-D it did the second time and I went home.

In other news TV was really quite excellent this week. What a good start 24 has gotten off to, I hope they keep it up. Smallville was really good. Heroes was great. Greys is sooo good, as is Ugly Betty. Prison Break was even good. I can't wait for Lost. One of the best shows isn't even on tv here it's called SPOOKS!!! Man Alive that Rupert Penry Jones is Hot Hot Hot!!! The way he looks in his jeans is the way all men should look. He's also one of the best man cryers I know. I actually had a dream about him the other night and we were together and he was holding me and almost protecting me. It was hot. It felt natural and nice.

Honey comes tomorrow and I have a busy week ahead. We see Matt at MSG. then we have brunch with rochi on sunday. Then she's going to CT to see Lea and then she'll see Donna and Linda and her school stuff. Then we are going to see Paolo Nutini at Bowery. We hope that we might have time to stalk Alex Kapranos bc he's doing a reading from his book on the same day. But we'll see. I'm hoping that he'll be at the Paulo show bc ya know, they're both scottish. then we'll be heading to her house on friday to see Pink and JT. That's going to be a fun show. then at the end of the following week I'll be going to Midlake with Cara.

I would like to wish a Happy Belated Birthday to my first husband of rock - Dave Matthews HAPPY 40TH BIRTHDAY!!!!! I feel that I've grown up with you and I thank you for your music, your lyrics and a bit of your soul that you have showed me.

I want to also wish you luck on your upcoming tv role in House. I am looking forward to watching you go head to head with Hugh Laurie. Also, I am highly anticipating your coming movie with Sissy Spacek, Troy Garity, Rebecca Romijn, Drea de Mateo and some other ppl. called Lake City. He will also be in another movie called The Other Side with Jim Broadbent, Angelica Huston, Ryan Gosling, Jason Lee, Brittany Murphy, Eddie Izzard, Giovanni Ribisi and shload of others. He was a very busy man bc they are all in post production. Which means that they are coming out soon, I hope!!!

10. The Raconteurs - Broken Boy Soldiers
Though I haven't given this album the proper attention it deserves it's going on my list bc they were phenomenal live. I really do like that Jack White.
Favorite Song - Steady as she goes, it has a great beat and Jack's voice just compliments the whole set up.

9. Paolo Nutini - These Streets
He's only 19 but he is no adolescent teenager. His voice is gritty and soulful. The beats are mature but not too serious. I can't wait to see him at the end of the month, did I mention he's Scottish?
Favorite Song - Jenny Don't be Hasty.

8. Damien - 9
Bc I really do worship Damien he has to be on my list. I've been waiting for this album since his show in 2004 that changed my life. It changed the way that I look at music. It made me realize that so many bands are good, but I saw a man and a band at their best. It was a transcendent show, it made me realize that I should expect more from a band when I see them and settling for their mediocrity lacks in the experience of attending a concert.
Favorite Song - Me, My Yolk and I. Every time I hear it live it blows me away for the weightiness of the music and lyrics.

7. John Legend - Once Again
It was very hard for me to admit not only do I like this album, but I totally have a crush on him. I think he's an intelligent musician. I like the tone to his voice, I like the way he says certain words and I like when he reaches that high night that's a little out of his reach.
Favorite Song - Stereo, it's a great beat and very poppy but really enjoyable.

6. Wolfmother - Wolfmother
They are loud and obnoxious just like their 1970's predecessors Led Zepplin. Myles Heskett voice is over the top rock and roll. It's the kind of music you blast in you car driving down the turnpike, screaming along to the lyrics.
Favorite Song - Woman, it evokes Led Zepplin the most of any other song.

5. Snow Patrol - Eyes Open
Even though they have played chasing cars TO death on the radio this is still going on my list bc there are so many great songs on this album. They are wonderful live and it's nice to have another Irish band out there that are easier to get tickets to. They have so much energy on stage. Their lyrics are earnest with good pop rock sounds without being corny or emo in any sort of way.
Favorite Song - Set the Fire on the Third Bar

4. Arctic Monkeys - Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not
Just a Fun, Fun band with great music. They are very young but have the sound of a band at least in their twenties. Their sound seems effortless and I deeply appreciate that. I just hope they turn into a one album wonder like so many of the bands that I have liked in the past few years.
Favorite Song - Fake Tales of San Fransisco

3. Justin Timberlake - Future Sex Love Sounds
Who knew that I would be totally mesmerized by this pop album of a past boy band member. But there is no denying this boys talent... or shall I say man? Using his talents with Timbaland was a most excellent idea. For longevity purposes I think it was a very smart idea to team up with Timbaland. The beats and grooves on this album would get anyone going and it's a lot of fun.
Favorite Song - My Love. This song most resembles rock, but it's not and that's ok. I can't wait to see him next month.

2. Keane - Under the Iron Sea
After the rocky year that this band has had you would never know that they put out this stellar album. If you read into it really closely you can figure out the relationship that Tim Rice-Oxley and Tom Oliver Chaplin have with each other. It's disturbing and honest. If it's accurate. Tom Oliver Chaplin's voice is as angelic as his face. It's so pure live. It's a little messed up that he sings back the lyrics of how Tim feels about him, but maybe that's why he needed a little Rehab.
Favorite Song - Broken Toy and Nothing in My Way. Both songs sound sweet and poppy but when you get right down to it they are some of the most revealing lyrics on the album.

1. Muse - Black Holes and Revelations
They are aggressive, loud, obnoxious, over the top and could make my head explode. They are amazing live. Going to their show is very freeing and I can't wait until the next one. There really isn't a bad song on this album. Listening to them makes me jealous that I can't play anything the way they play their instruments. It just reminds me of my own mediocrity but yet I'm ok with it bc they really are so amazing and I know that I will never be able to play like them, even if I gave it my all. I hope they come back to town soon on a solo venture and not with another band that I won't mention here.
Favorite Song - Assassin. the most aggressive of all the songs, Dom takes control and pushes past all barriers of drumming and ends up in another galaxy. It's so awesome!!!!

Honorable Mentions:
Hard Fi - Stars of CCTV, Fave song "Gotta Reason" (I have the whole video worked out in my head I just gotta tell someone) and "Move on Now".
Tapes N Tapes - The Loon, Fave song "In Houston".

Bands that I have discovered this year... I know, I know it's about time
1. Sigur Ros - After getting shamed by Shane (from damien) and by Honey at the same time, I had to re-listen with OPEN ears. I did and I like. Favorite Song - "Saeglopor" off of Takk. I have no idea what it's about but it's beautiful.
2. The Frames - Headlong is a great song. I really love Glen Hansards' voice. It's like being surrounded by love. There is something very familiar about him and I don't know what it is. It's like I've known him for years.
3. The Swell Season - For all the above reasons and there's violin and I'm a sucker for violin.

Favorite TV Shows
1. Lost - Even though they haven't answered shit, I still love this show.
2. Heroes - it feeds my inner geek!!
3. Grey's Anatomy - I miss denny, for my inner weepiness.
4. Spooks - Um British hotness!!! and a lady totally killed herself right in front of me and a lady got her face BURNED off by a deep fryer machine!!! EW and AWESOME!!!
5. 24 - Jack Bauer Hotness!! He saves the world what's not to love.
6. CSI - Grissom rules all things!!
7. Medium - I really like this show a lot. Every character is appealing to me.
8. House - well dave's gonna be on it... and when else can you love a Vicodin addicted man?
9. Ugly Betty - Who doesn't love America Ferrera?
10. Brothers and Sisters - um three totally cute brothers and the mom is sally field... what's NOT to love?
11. Family Guy - There are no words!!!
12. Scrubs - I am a bad fan. I was upset when they canceled it, they brought it back and I don't watch. But I know it's still good.
13. Studio 60 - I really like the writing and relationships on the show. Who knows how long it will last... but we'll see
14. How I met your Mother - my new fave show. I love Doogie houser on this show!!! He's too funny as a womanizing funny man.
15.Survivor/The Bachelor/American Idol - my guilty pleasures.

I could live on Damien Rice concerts

I spent the weekend with honey and seeing Damien Rice in DC. It was a really nice time. Finished some holiday shopping for family and celebrating Chanukah. The roads were shorter this trip down and there was no traffic. I listened to John Legend a bit. My new crush. Then I listened to some stuff that I haven't listened to in a while. Hard Fi - great band!! Arctic Monkeys - another great band. Foo Fighters - Love them!! Tapes N Tapes - another really good band. That was pretty much the car ride. Then I was at Honey's house.

We exchanged presents bc neither of can wait for stuff like that. She gave me OPRAH!!!! it's awesome. anyone who knows me, knows my deep respect and love for Ms. O. I was shocked and very excited that I got that. We went out and did some errands. While Honey made dinner I watched my stories that she so nicely taped for me. The ulterior motive was that I knew there was going to be hot man crying by Cameron Matheson. So I wanted Honey to see and she did. And she was happy. After dinner we watched "the ballad of Jack and Rose." Honey freaked out and she's going to buy it now. DANIEL DAY-LEWIS RULES ALL!!!

The next day I had a belly ache the whole day bc I was nervous about seeing Shane. It's stupid I know... but I love him and I can't help it. It was a lazy day and we went to Starbucks and pizza. Then we drove to The Lincoln Theater and we were there early but there still was a really long line... then we found out that the line split and we were right in front... AWESOME!!! Long story short we had 3rd row, we would have had second row but they were reserved for VIP. It was awesome. If you go to Youtube I am sure that you can watch many of the video's that honey took.

The show was amazing. But let's back it up to the AMAZING opener!! Swell Season. They were amazing. The lead singer from The Frames - Glen Hansord. He's freakin adorable. And Irish.... hhmmm the Irish. His voice was spectacular. His best song of the evening, I thought, was called Leave. Damien helped write this song and you could tell. it was aggressive and amazing. Glen really looks good in his jeans... I know that's not a reason to really like someone... but it certainly isn't a bad quality. ya know?

Look at the cuteness of Glen. He told a really crazy story about ghostbuster. It freaked me out.

So Damien came on and they were fookin amazing!!! The Beacon Theater show was perfect and transcendent. This show wasn't perfect, but still had the feeling of transcendence but no one was floating this time. They are so good live that there really are no words. Lisa has an amazing voice and spirit about her. Tomo is an amazing drummer (by the way he's a Jersey boy!!). He plays deeply and loudly. Vivien is a great cello player even though there is something a little off kilter about her, she's still cool. She played Yoshima battles the Pink Robots (i think that's the correct title) by the Flaming Lips and it was crazy good. Shane is a wonderful human being and his bass playing is so clear, loud and deep. You always know it's him. Damien is beautiful and sad. His voice is soft and loud, his words are beautiful and tragic. When some bands come together it's a level of divinity at hand. I really do believe that Damien and his band are in that category of divinity. It happens when Edge, Bono, Larry and Adam play together. It happens when Dave, Carter, Boyd, Stefan and Leroi play together. It happens when Tom, Tim and Richard play together. It happens when Matt, Chris and Dom play together. Some other force brought these people together to find each other and create. I know that I am going off topic, but I want to stress the point that without each person it would be a different sort of band, it would be a different sound, it would have a different soul. This band is amazing and Damien is at the helm driving them into greatness.
If I could afford it I would have seen them 3 times this year, but unfortunately I can't afford that. Highlights from the show were: Me, My Yolk and I, I remember, Rootless Tree, Coconut Skins, Cannonball (without a mic at the edge of the stage) (edge), His stories and that crazy ass ending.

If you look closely you can see that he spilled wine all over the front of his shirt.

After the show there was nothing to steal. No set list, no picks, no sticks :( but alas, there was the call sheet. which was almost better bc it had the time they had to be on the bus. It's cool bc it had the date, place and damien's name on it. We waited by the doors of the place but then I saw Tomo walking to the bus with his stuff and NO ONE went over to him... and I was like fuck that!! and I went right over to him and asked if he would come out to talk to us and sign some things and take some pics. So he said he would. We waited for a while and he didn't really come out for a while. Finally he came out and spent some time with him. In the midst of the conversation it came out that he was a Jersey boy. He has an interesting personality. But he's really nice.
We talked about the set up of his drums, the fact that he has an Irish accent now and damien not signing stuff anymore and him not really understanding why.

AAHH then Shane finally came out. He was carrying a heavy box with all the beer and cups in it. He was trying to get into the bus, but he couldn't so Honey was like yelling at me to take the box... the box was too heavy. All the cups fell and I helped Shane pick them up. Our. knees. touched. The tour Manager took the box from him and he took the cups from me. I was already totally blushing. I asked him if he could sign stuff and talk to us. He was like sure. He asked my name and I told him. Yetta. he. said. my. name. OH MAN!!! He was making me blush bc I love him and I was totally making him blush bc I was telling him how amazing he is. I remember I touched him A LOT!!!! I remember NO ONE else talked to him (i don't get that at all).
I remember we talked to him for like 10 -12 minutes. He told some fun stories about Glastonbury. He called his boots wellies and honey had to tell me later that wellies were actually boots. I think he's amazing and I really love him. I could marry a man like that... or I could just marry him. Our picture is awesome together and he looks soooo hot!! and i have to say I look really cute. We just look good together. I really think that if there was more time he would have totally asked us to go with him to get a drink. He certainly would have talked to us longer. We hugged at the end and oh man it was a really good hug. The whole week of anticipation was leading up to that moment. The only way it would have been absolutely perfect would have been if he said - "Fook all this Yetta, Run away with me!!!" haahaahaa... oh dear

After waiting for a bit more Damien came out, but other people were talking to him, then Lisa came out and no one went over to her except me and Honey. Honey was funny she worships Lisa and it was really fun to watch. Lisa was drunk and it was so cute. She was also wearing her pj's and it was even cuter. We talked a bit to her and took a pic and she signed some stuff for us. Honey was almost bowing as she was walking away from her bc she was terrified... it was really cute of her. Lisa for sure is beautiful and has this amazing voice you would never think could come out of that small body. She sang a huge lesbian ballad (gently Joanie - or something gigolo? I think) with the girl singer from Swell Season (forgot her name) and it was really stunning.

Then came Damien, some how or another Honey and I were the last one's but we didn't even do it on purpose this time. I forgot to mention that not so scary Josh from the 9:30 club was there and he was "protecting" Damien from all the "crazies." But as soon as Damien came over to us Josh totally walked away, he was still watching but he went to talk to someone that works at the theater. I just thought that was amusing, bc Josh knows. Back to Damien. for the full story head over to Honey's blog bc I went over the whole thing with her today and I can't do it again. Let's just say that the amount of respect I had for Damien B4 the show tripled after the show. We had an interesting discussion about the fact that he doesn't sign things or take pictures with anyone. It's under a trial basis - so we'll see what he has to say the next time we see him. (hopefully he won't move on from there and not talk to anyone ever again). But when I was speaking to him the whole time his eyes NEVER left mine. And when he was speaking to me my eyes never left his. I really, really felt that he was listening to everything that I was saying. It was more then listening - what's more then listening? It was that. It was a moment of complete respect and validation and attentiveness. His eyes are stunning and you really could reach in and touch his soul. It was a pretty amazing moment. When we said goodbye he gave me (and honey) the most amazing hug. It was a double squeeze, i don't want to let go hug. It was surprising bc I really didn't think he had that type of strength in him. It was a really great night. I forgot to mention when Damien was telling a story to us he grabbed my arm and inadvertently grazed my boob!!!! haaahaa I was laughing really hard in my head when it happened.
I know this picture is really from 2 years ago. The exact date was 05/03/04 outside the Beacon Theater. The show that changed my life. Damien pretty much looks the same as he did 2 years ago. So I thought I would post a pic of him with me.

After that we talked to the driver for a couple of minutes bc we wanted to know where Glen was, but he had left. Damien's driver also drove around Tom Petty, Crosby, Stills and Nash. He was a cool guy, he has a really rough schedule. But it was funny bc he was like "I see it all. The picking, scratching, the smelling," interrupting him I funnily screamed, "Nooooo. They are all perfect in my mind!!!" He laughed and that was the end of the night.

The rest of the weekend was really nice. Just hangin' out with honey, some writing and talking about the hot men. Thanks Honey for an awesome weekend!! and this is for you: "Let him know that I love you, Maggie" A little DDL being Irish. haahaa... ahhh I haven't been able to stop watching the Damien video... I love it!!! That Frames album is also really good!!

Last night I was watching Letterman and these fantastic spanish guitarists were playing!! It was amazing. I do not have a You tube link for the letterman performance, but they were on craig ferguson. I do have to say that the letterman performance was better. But this is still really, really good!! I believe it is the same song... it's amazing. Pay special attention to Gabriela.

The band is called Rodrigo Y Gabriela and they amazing. Watch HERE!!! There album went to #1 in Ireland, beating out the arctic monkeys and johny cash. They are dublin based mexican musicians and they are quite good.

Last week was fun. Honey came for the Bob Dylan show and it was really good. The Raconteurs were excellent!! That Jack White is so attractive and I don’t know why. Seeing him on stage made him even more attractive… weird I know. I wish we had gotten there on time but there was a but load of traffic. They put in a new parking structure for Continental Airline Arena (Brenden Byrne Arena) and it’s stupid. There was NEVER that much traffic when it wasn’t there. But it was a really great show. Bob Dylan did NOT play guitar at all (which is weird) but he did wear an electric blue shirt under a black suit with a stripe of sparkle on the pant. He played “All Along the Watchtower” which was exciting for me bc I’ve heard the damn song so many times bc Dave always does it… it was nice to hear the original even if he did mess up the lyrics. We had a great time with my brother and sister-n-law. They are a funny couple.

The next day Honey and I woke up at dawn to go into the city bc we tried to see if we could get tickets for Conan O’Brien bc Damien Rice was the musical guest. Long story REALLY short… we did NOT get tickets and we did NOT see or meet the band… BOO!!!! But we did have a VERY, VERY lovely breakfast with some Mimosas!!! That can NEVER be bad. We walked around a lot and window shopped, and walked, and ate, and walked, and got coffee. It was a good day even with no Damien. We talked a lot and that’s always fun.

On Sunday I went food shopping for Thanksgiving. Even though I am going to my stepmother I won’t be able to eat anything, so I had to make my own food. That way my grandmother would be able to eat also bc she’s not coming with me. Nothing else is really happening. The stuffing I made is freakin awesome. I’m still obsessed with Daniel Day Lewis. Watching “Gangs of New York” I still can’t believe that it’s him. He’s so incredible. I also can’t believe that he’s 49 years old.

Since it’s thanksgiving I wanted to quickly say what I am thankful for. Every day I thank G-D for my friends. Without them in my life I know I would be a different person, I would be a person who does not love and respect myself so that I can love and respect others. I am thankful for my brother. He is an amazing person and I am very lucky that he is in my life. I am thankful for all the adults in my life who care for me. Even though this is a little redundant I am thankful for Honey. She is my friend, my sibling and my adult. Thank you for always being there for me. I appreciate you so much and am so thankful that you are in my life.

I haven’t written in a bit and thought I would now.

I went to Honey’s a few weeks ago and we saw MattyNay. The show was at the 9:30 club, which is always fun. When Carbon Leaf was on we talked to John (Matt’s bassist) for like 20 minutes and that was fun bc he was a little drunk. On our way out we saw Josh the 9:30 bouncer guy who had an article in the Washington Post, so we went over to him and said hi. All his bouncer friends were making fun of him. We left and Honey wanted a picture with him so I was like, lets go back then. And she was like, no, no, no. I said yes! And so I went back in and asked if he would take a pic with us and he said yes. Honey and I were laughing so hard bc he’s so the gentle giant.
So we waited for Matt outside and he knew to come to us last. There weren’t that many people waiting but he knew that we were to be the last one he talks to. I told him the story about me waiting for U2 all night on the sidewalks of NYC and never got to meet them. Matt was mad for me. It was so hot of him. We talked a bit about U2 and some other bands. He confirmed a secret about DMB that I was hoping wasn’t true and which I cannot repeat on this blog. He met Sir Paul McCartney. Both Honey and I wondered at the same time if Sir Paul was controlling or abusive in anyway… but neither of us had the guts to ask. He told us about having Edie Van Halen waiting in a line with him for something. But he didn’t say anything to him. Honey gave him presents and he was all giddy. He told us that he openly weeps at reading the U2 book, which I have purchased myself and only am up to 1978 – 1980. Damn – the book is big – and chockfull of details which I am most appreciative. Then I said to him with a slight hint, hint and a nudge, nudge, “I wish I was going to your show at the cutting room.” So he says to me you really want to go, and I was like HELL YA! Of course I do. So he said NO promises but to e-mail his myspace page and he’ll see what he can do. AWESOME!!! I knew that he was going to come through for me and Honey. I was right!! 2am the night b4 the show Honey calls me, I pick up the phone and say to her, “so what time are you coming tomorrow.” I knew that he was going to write back. He put both me and Honey on his list, his personal list!! How awesome is that?

So I meet Hon in the city and we walk to the show. On the way there we stop in a starbucks, but not to get coffee but to get matt a thank you gift card and to pee. So I go pee and honey gives me the card to write something to Matt. As the door to the bathroom closes who do I see walking towards me?!?!?! I freak for a second. Then say, “OMG what are you doing here?” It was MATT!!! Haahaa!! He gives me a hug and he’s reading his messages on his phone. He says something about having no confidence and I was like anytime you need a boost you call me. He said something about texting me and I was like “I have the oldest phone in the world and it doesn’t have texting.” Then Honey comes out of the bathroom and she was like “it was freaking me out to pee with Matt out here.” It was really funny. So we told him we came in here to give him the gift card and he was so happy. He had no hands free bc he was holding 2 coffees so Honey put it in his front pocket. Jealous – Haahaa!!! He was meeting with his street teamers so we left him and went to the show. Which by the by “The Cutting Room” is owned by Chris Noth. Just a little trivia there for ya.

It was the best solo Matt show Honey and I have ever seen. It was a really great show and he sounded so good. It was a proud moment that I felt. I really felt that he knows that it was a great show. After the show Matt came to us last again and we only had a moment with him bc something happened with his manager. I don’t want to say but it was awkward and it wasn’t. It was an interesting moment to witness. That’s all I’m saying about that.

That’s really all I’m going to say about that weekend. We saw Matt again at Irving and had to sit through Carbon Leaf, which wasn’t fun. But then Matt came on and he was amazing!!! It was the best whole band show. His last song he did “Little Victories” by himself, no band, no mic, just him and a guitar. I totally cried. I was just really proud of him. He did such a great job.

So onward and upward…

My new obsession is one Mr. Daniel Day – Lewis!!! The finest actor out there today. It started with Gangs of NY, and finding him attractive even though his character is not supposed to be.
Then I was like I need more. So I went to Blockbuster and the only movie they had was “The ballad of Jack and Rose”. Which is a truly messed up movie but he was so incredible in it. I immediately went on Amazon and bought, “the boxer,” “The Ballad of Jack and Rose,” “In

the Name of the Father,” & “The Age of Innocence.”
I am going to borrow “the Last of the Mohicans” from my brother. I saw it when I was younger and even then I thought that he was hot in the movie. But I am going to borrow it and then decide whether I am going to buy it. On my Amazon wish List I have “The unbearable lightness of being.” And I am totally gonna buy it soon. He has been nominated for 3 Oscars and won for “My left foot.” The other Nominations were for “Gangs of NY” which he was amazing in. And for “In the name of the father.” He doesn’t do that many movies bc he’s good enough to be picky. During his down time he’s a cobbler in Italy. He’s going to be in a movie that’s in post-production and should be coming out in 2007. It's called "There will Be Blood," sounds interesting. The link has a short description about the film. But I have a feeling that I am going to have to search for the movie when it comes out. !!!
One of the best things about Daniel Day – Lewis is his ability to do accents. He’s British but for the longest time I thought he was Irish. In the boxer he’s Irish. In “TBOJ&R” he’s Irish. And his accents are both different and AMAZING!!! In Gangs his accent was so good. He’s so good. He’s really amazing

I saw "the departed" Saturday night. That movie was freaking incredible. I was blown away. I talked to Honey after and she said. “It’s like being punched in the gut.” And I said, “no, it feels like I was punched in the face.” It was so good. Leo was great!!! Marky Mark was great!! Matt Damon GREAT!! Jack GREAT!! Martin Sheen GREAT!! I really hope that Martin Scorsese wins for directing this year. It was a really great movie.

I wish I was seeing Dave Matthews this winter. He is doing a solo European tour that I so very much wish I was going to. He’s going to be in all the places that I wish I was. Dublin, Glasgow, Manchester, damn it, damn it!!! All the signs are pointing for me to be there, except for one little thing… money and the lack of it. Shoot….

I’m seeing Bob Dylan with the Raconteurs on Thursday with My brother Dylan, My sister-n-law Dana and Honey. That should be really fun.

Can’t wait to see Damien Rice!!! I am yearning for his transcendence. I also can’t wait to see Shane.

Edge I haven’t forgotten about you and all your hotness. On the final leg of the Vertigo tour Edge has been lookin’ oh so hot!!!

A Long Time Coming

Oy, I haven’t written a blog in a really long time. I just haven’t been in the mood. It’s not like nothing has happened, I just haven’t felt like writing about it. I’m going to give it a try today.

I went to see Honey about a month ago. It was nice to be there and it was a really relaxing trip. Thank G-D no flat tires on the way there or the way home, I did have an anxiety dream that I did get one and that there was something wrong with the car. All was fine though. Keane was supposed to happen the Thursday after, and Honey was going to come home with me. But as we all know Tom Oliver Chaplin went into rehab and canceled the Keane North American tour. I understand that Tom made some friends while in rehab with notable druggie Pete Doherty. It makes me nervous that Tom is friends with him bc it obvious how rehab has NOT helped Doherty. I don’t think Tom needs that negative influence in his life. Though I’m hoping that Tim Rice-Oxley will see to Tom Oliver Chaplin “safety” of sobriety. Not that it’s his responsibility at all, I just know that he loves him too much to watch him go through all this again.

I digress, back to going to Honey’s house. So she cooked some kick as food as usual. My favorite things she makes really are her roasted veggies and potatoes. I could eat an ENTIRE pan of each and still have room for the main dish, which is usually steak, which is also AMAZING. I just really love to eat roasted veggies and potatoes. I could seriously live on that. So we ate a lot as per the usual and went to Starbucks as per the usual. We helped April and Patrick test out a couch at Pottery Barn. I could have moved into that couch it was so comfortable.

The Snow Patrol concert was the late show at the 9:30 club. That late show made me realize that I think I’m too old for a late show. Augustana was that opener and they were all right. The week b4 at Shira’s Shower I got their cd and a few others for free. So after the show I got them to sign it which is always fun, though I felt a bit guilty when THEY ALL thanked me for buying the thing. I didn’t have the heart to them that I got it for free from a wife of a Sony A&R guy. Eh, what are you gonna do?

Honey and I met her really nice, cool, spastic (in a good way) friend Nathan there, with his friend, whose name is escaping me at the moment (also a really sweet person). They were a lot of fun. We talked about music and stuff while we waited on line. When we finally got in we separated, they wanted to be on the floor. Honey and I took our usual spots in the corner of the balcony. Snow Patrol finally came on. Gary Lightbody has a great voice. Better than I would have thought. I hope he takes care of those vocal chords. So during the show Nathan was bopping around just as spastically as the Gary Lightbody. Nathan is so tall that The Lightbody noticed. So he was talking about the crap that he has to take for his throat and he GAVE it to NATHAN!!! Honey and I were freaking out. Then later the Lightbody DEDICATED a song to Nathan!!!! Unbelievable!!! It was a really, really great show. Snow Patrol is great live!! Then of course Nathan got a set list. I really felt that the Lightbody saw himself in Nathan. A skinny, spastic, tall, sweet guy with a great smile, the Lightbody thought, “Holy shite! That was me 10 years ago!” One look at the Lightbody and you know that’s what he was thinking.

After the show we waited for them to come out. To my surprise there really weren’t that many people waiting for them. Nathan got his set list signed and he got to hug the Lightbody. I also got to hug him and he was so sweet. We all took pictures with them, but I still haven’t developed mine yet. We talked to them all for a while. They were all sweet, and with their Irish accents I could have talked to them the whole night. Honey asked the Lightbody about meeting U2, and then I asked if Edge was pretty? And he was like, “Um, sure.” But he did say they were all really great guys. It was a great night and a great show.

I went home the next day to an uneventful week. Though on Friday I got a haircut, a very short haircut. I donated my hair to “The Locks of Love.” The minimum amount you have to give is 10 inches; I was able to give them 13 inches. It was a little traumatic at first and I cried a second right before she cut it. But I did it. I was proud of myself. I think I did a good thing. It’s already grown like an inch or so since I cut it. It’s a little annoying that I have to blow dry it, but I’ll do it. I’m glad that I was able to give my hair to someone who doesn’t have any.

That Saturday night I went to sleep over my brother’s. I had a nice visit with him and Dana and the dog. For their anniversary I bought them tickets to the Bob Dylan show with the Raconteurs, which is in Nov. Of course Honey and I are going with them. I think that should be a really great show.

When I got home I ended up getting in a huge fight with my CRAZY uncle and he tried to throw a chair at me. I almost wanted him to so I could send him to jail. I told him, “if he even tried it you will end up in prison so quickly that your head will fucking spin.” Naturally he put the chair down and he’s stayed out of my face since then. I don’t think I have even been so angry in my whole life. And I have been really angry before, my throat was killed me from screaming so load. I talked to Dylan and Dana and they made me feel better. Then I talked to Honey and she made me fell better more. Bc when I talked to D & D their way of helping is to pile more pressure on me that I need to get a better job and to move out. Which I know I need to eventually do that, but they also have NO clue what it is to live in this house. I am the one that has to take care of EVERYTHING. I have to go to work, make sure that my grandmother gets to her doctors appointments, make dinner for her (usually), clean the house, buy the groceries, take care of the cats, pay a ton of bills, go visit my mother, take care of all my mothers things; like paying the nursing home, depositing her checks, making sure that things are getting done for her, I was the one who had to get her Medicaid. I was the one who had to choose the nursing home. Last week I had to go through all my mom’s clothes and decide what was useful for her and what wasn’t. The things that weren’t useful I gave to the Salvation Army. I know it’s a good thing, I gave them 3 huge garbage bag full of clothes and really nice clothes. But it was really hard. It’s something you do when someone passes away and it was really sad that I had to do that. Once again I digress: back to the anger that I was speaking about, if anyone read Honey’s blog about “anger” that would come close to how angry I was feeling. But thank G-D for D & D and thank G-D for Honey. I have never had a friend my whole life that has understood me and some of my dysfunction like she does and I love her very much. She really is a sister to me.

On September 26, U2 were going to be at the Union Square Barnes & Noble signing their new book. Neither C or Honey won a chance to get into the signing so at the last minute on Monday night I decided that I was going to stay on the sidewalk all night long so I could get in. I convinced C to wait with me. Surprisingly enough she agreed. I am not going through any details bc it’s too upsetting. We were given #’s and I was 99 and c was 100. We spent the whole night on the sidewalk. At the last minuet people cut in line and we were not let in. They let in the first 100 ppl. I was doing my best to fight with them, I hopped out of line and got the book with our names, I asked to speak with the manager and no luck. They wouldn’t let me. They were ASSHOLES!!!! I was crying. C was also. It was very upsetting and we had no sleep. We walked to the W Hotel and try to talk to U2.com staff but no luck again. It was getting later and later, and I was like I have to go to work. I can’t wait here all day just for a maybe. So I ended up driving one of the guys to Penn Station that waited with us, and I went home. I slept for about an hour or two. Then I heard my phone ring. It was C – She met them!!! Met them all!!! She totally deserved to meet them. She’s liked them for like ever. I totally felt like crying bc of exhaustion and jealousy. It took about a week to get over it. It made me even more determined to meet them. I will meet them!! I will have a picture with Edge!!! I will tell Bono that he’s amazing!!! I will tell Edge that I’m in love with him!!! I will tell Larry he’s hot and should do more videos!!! I will tell Adam I think he’s great (even though I give Honey a hard time about him being her favorite. He’s still Adam!!)!!! I. Will. I. Will. I. Will!!!! And Honey will be right there with me!!! They will fall in love with us!!! They will invite us to go to dinner with them and all their friends!!! They will then bring us to their hotel and…. Ok, I think I’ve gotten a little carried away. It. Will. Happen. If I can meet Dave Matthews 4 times, than you would think I could meet Edge once? Wouldn’t you?

The TV season has started and there are some really good shows out there. There are also some really crappy ones. And then there are some that I like that I know are crappy. Let’s start with the good ones that are good without question.

Family Guy – The jealousy that I have that Honey met Seth MacFarlane and not me is crazy. The guy is funny and hot. The show is ridiculous and gross. I love it.

Prison Break – Though last season was awesome, the jury is still out on this season. William Fichner plays a pill popping FBI agent who needs a bust bc otherwise he’s going to kill EVERYONE, is really good. Wentworth is still really, really hot. But is it worth another season, meh. I’m not so into it. I put it in this list of good shows bc a lot of people still really like it. I really think that this should be the last season.

Heroes – SOOOOO good!!! Not to mention it has Adrian Pasdar; he’s all kinds of hotness, even though he may or may not be a total jackass in it. His brother in the show is also really hot, Villo something. He’s really cute. Hiro, the Japanese office drone is soooo great. What a great power he has and he’s really funny.

Studio 60 – I really like the writing of Aaron Sorkin even though he’s probably a self righteous, pompous ass. He’s good at his job. I also really like the casting of everyone in the show. Matthew Perry is doing a great job, as is Bradley Whitford.

House – this is just a great show and that Gregory House is so great. The writing is still good and the illness’s they use are still weird. Good stuff right there.

Lost – Oh My!!!!!!!! What a show. There are always going to be millions questions asked about this show. Is anything ever going to be answered? Sure, but they are just going to be leaving you asking even more questions. The man crying that was done by Jack (Matthew Fox) was so hot that there are no words for it. The sexual tension between Sawyer and Kate is palpable, and it’s all done with a look or two. I look forward to each episode. I can’t wait for next weeks’ episode. It really is the best show on television.

The Nine – At first I was like, what’s the point of the show, then it got really, really compelling. WHAT HAPPENED IN THERE?!?! Good show.

Kidnapped – I forgot to watch the first one, but then Honey said that Jeremy Sisto kicks some serious ass and I watched and he really does. Even though they sent this show to die on Saturday nights, I think it proves that Sisto can and should carry his own show about him kicking ass.

Ugly Betty – I love America Ferreira, she’s a great actress and she’s normal. I think most ppl. can identify with her. She was great in that “traveling pants” movie and she’s great in this. Her boss is hot, even though in the beginning he was an ass, he’s vulnerable with her, he tells her things and he’s open with her. It’s hot. It’s a little campy, but it’s a really good show.

Smallville – Lex is totally hot even though he’s turning to the dark side. I think that makes him hotter. Lana and him totally did it, and it was hot! I’m excited to see where this show goes. I really like it.

Survivor – I haven’t been into this season like last year, but I do like it anyway. I just think it’s a great show. It really pushes ppl. to their limits and I like watching that.

Grey’s Anatomy – I love this show. I have complained about Ellen Pompeo since I started watching this show. But so far she really hasn’t been so annoying. She gave a great rant last week that ended with, “I wanna feel like a freakin’ lady!” It was really great. And this week she was on morphine and said some pretty funny things.

CSI – damn! They have put their CSI’s through soooo much this season and there’s only been 3 shows. But 3 really great shows. I have to say color me impressed! I think maybe they know that Grissom sleeping with Sara at the end of last season was Shasta McNasty bc they haven’t really mentioned it. There have been looks but nothing else was really mentioned. But it really has been very good.

Ok onto the shows that I still watch even though they are crappy:

Brothers and Sisters – I will still watch this. I think it might be canceled but I love Sally Field and that guy is really hot. He was in the short-lived Fox show Reunion. So I’m still gonna watch till it’s dead.

Desperate Housewives – I don’t watch this show anymore, I have given up bc it is indeed CRAP!!!

7th Heaven – I just have to watch this show until it’s done. I have watched it since the beginning and I have to see it through. But please finish soon, bc it’s not so good anymore.

The Bachelor – I just like this show. I don’t know why. I even think that this season the guy is gross, but I still like watching it.

Smith – This show just got canceled to my chagrin. I think I knew it was crappy but it was a good idea for a show. Having Shoreh Agadlashoo as a bad guy was fun. Ray Liotta was hot with Virginia Madsen. Johny Lee Miller is just hot, so that’s sad for me that they canceled the show.

Jericho – This show is a little scary, especially with the whole North Korean thing having nuclear capability. It’s not a very well acted show, which I think will lead to a cancellation and the writing isn’t terrific. But the subject is scary.

ER – I put this show here bc it’s like 7th Heaven, I have watched it since the beginning and will stick with it through the end. But please ER end soon, you are not good anymore. You try and sell it with having bigger and bigger guest stars, but I think your time has ended in being a good show. Please go out with some dignity that you are slowly losing by staying on the air longer then wanted.

There are other good shows out there that I just don’t have time to watch. NCIS, Criminal Minds, How I met Your Mother, The Class, are all good shows. I think I watch enough tv for an army. Then I can’t forget the shows that are on later in the Season, like 24 and Medium. That doesn’t include my daytime stories and Oprah that I tape everyday. Man I really do watch a lot of television. I could really tell you almost anything about TV. I might not now character names, but I could give you a brief synopsis about most if not all primetime shows. It’s one of my magical powers.

Movies I want to see: The Queen, The Departed (“You gonna chop me up and feed me to the poor?!), The Last King of Scotland, Little Miss Sunshine, The Prestige, and a bunch more.

Justin Timberlake was on Kimmel last night. I have to say that he was sooooo funny and they had him play 2 FULL songs and they were AMAZING!!! Also, Kate Walsh was on from Grey's and she LOVES BONO!!! Who doesn't!!!??

I think U2 should have special guests on their next album. Bono was on Oprah on Friday and he really can be very sexy. He really is hot, especially with that awesome haircut. He should always have that hair. I think someone in the street even commented on his hair. Anyhoo – he did a song called “Africa” with Alicia Keys on vocals and piano. Just a piano and 2 voices it was really good. They really sounded good together. So watching Alicia Keys with Bono was amazing. It gave me the idea that U2 should do special guests on the next album. I think the guests should be Alicia Keys, Dave Matthews, Missy Elliot, Thom Yorke, Kanye West, Bruce Springsteen and I think that would be enough. So who ever is listening please do this, I think it would be cool.

I think this blog has been long over due. I’m sorry if it was long I just needed to get some things off my chest. Until next time, hopefully I won’t wait too long. I am seeing honey next week and we are going to see MATTYNAY!!! I can’t wait. Then the week after that I am having a sleep over with Honey, April and Patrick at my house!!! And again we are seeing MattyNay!!! Hopefully I can convince C to come. I really think she would have a great time and totally fall for the shnay!! I am also trying to convince that guy I drove to Penn Station bc I totally have a crush on him. So hopefully I will be writing sooner rather than later. I am also working on “Rules of Stalking”. I want to come up with a better word, something like, pursuing or hunting or chasing or following or questing or sporting. I think of the right word. That doesn’t sound as scary as these. I am also working on the “Stages of Fandom,” an example: Stage 7: Sleeping out on a city sidewalk to try and meet the band in question even if it’s for a second. Sometimes this doesn’t work and sometimes it does.

I'm sad

as everyone knows C met U2. I did not. I slept on the sidewalks of NYC and I got nothin. :(

I was 99 on the list and at the last minute of waiting all night and not really sleeping we were locked out of the line. Due to people cutting and people who were on the line to sell their books on e-bay, C and I did not get it!! I was pissed and try my hardest, with proof of a list, I spoke with many people who worked for Barnes and Noble and nobody cared. I was brought to tears, but not in front of them. I asked to speak with the Store Manager and he would not speak with me. I walked to the W hotel and try to speak with someone from U2.com but I just couldn't wait an longer and I left. It was incrediably hard for me to walk away, bc as everyone know "I am NOT a Quitter!!!!" and to give up like that sucked. I mean really sucked. I talked C into coming with me and too have neither of us meet them was awful.

At a quarter to 2 in the afternoon, I was sleeping bc I had to go to work, and C called me and said she just met them. ALL of them. She went back on her lunch break and went behind B&N and they were just coming in and they stopped and signed everyone's things. I am so incredibly happy for her. She has loved U2 for a crazy amount of time and she really deserves to have met them!!!! Go you C!!!

anyhoo - when I actually have some sleep in my body I will have a chance to write the full events of what happened.

I Can Not Believe it!!!

The Keane show for Hammerstein Ballroom on 9/27 has officially been canceled. I am really sad that I will not be seeing them. In fact the entire North American tour has been cancelled. I know the band is doing the best thing for Tom Oliver Chaplin and I hope he gets well soon. Tim Rice - Oxely said somethings that might be of interest to some. Find it here. It did seem a little too soon to go right back on the road. It would have been only 28 days in Rehab. I know that's the usual amount of time, but for someone who is suffering from Drug and Alcohol addictions, I would think you would need a little longer to cleanse your body and mind. Not only that, it takes a serious toll for the people that love the one who is addicted. It's exhausting. I hope I will see this band come around next year when they are all healthy and rested.

The Emmy's 2006

This was Keifer's first Emmy of the evening and his first Emmy, I think ever. He's been nominated b4 but never one, until now!

He thanked his daddy and his daddy was totally crying and it was a really hot moment!!! Just look at how this man wears his clothes ~ He's flawless.

Jeremy Piven won for best supporting actor in a comedy - Congrats!!! I have to say that I have believed in you forever ~ even b4 your little show called "Cupid". You deserve to win and I got a lump in my throat when you almost started to cry and thanked your dad. Congrats again... just one question... Why the ascot?

This is Keifer with Emmy one and Emmy two. One for Lead Actor in a drama!! WOOHOO!!! The other one is for Best Drama Series~ since he is a producer he gets an Emmy for that!!! GO Mr. Hottypants. I'm so proud. I'm so happy that the show won for Best drama. It's also Fox's first Emmy for a Drama Series. Well done Keifer.

Conan O'brien hosted this years Emmy's and he did a really great job. The opening sequence was him "falling" through different shows. first it was lost, then the office, then southpark. When he was in southpark they totally made a reference to Tom Cruise coming out of the closet. It made me laugh very hard. After his opening molologue he went into a song and dance routine that used the music from "the music man". Also very funny. He totally made fun of NBC sucking and it was a funny moment. the hat on his head just made him look totally ridiculous but absolutely committed.

Mariska Hargitay - It's so cool that she won!!! It was a nice surprise, bc I really did not expect that - though I didn't want anyone else to win. I'm really glad she one. I'm not crazy about her dress, but she did just have a baby like 2 weeks ago, so I suppose she looks really good for just having a person come out of her.

Look at this beautiful lady!!! I absolutely love, love, love this dress. She wasn't nominated for anything but she should be just because she's stunning. I watched the finale of Grey's bc it was that kind of day. I was crying within the first 10 minutes of the show. When "Izzy" is screaming and crying to "Denny" it's so emotional.

Mr. Grissom, Mr. President. Both these men looked really sharp. They are both very attractive gentlemen in that older man sort of way.

The after show - TVguide had a great party first with P-I-N-K - she's awesome. this is her entering the party lookin' all pretty and this is her during the show kickin' ass. No doubt she put on a great show. Pink is the new Blog was there and he got some great shots.

Lately, I have been thinking about Damien Rice and The Beacon Theater Show in May of 2004. One of the best birthday presents ever!! It's the best concert that I have ever been to. It was transcendent. Lifting me up it changed me. The music was deep, it was dark, it was beautiful. I spent the better part of the weekend downloading a whole lot of Damien Rice from many different shows on YouTube. Here are what I think are the best. Of course there was nothing from The Beacon show that I went to, which is a shame. I do have a copy of the show and it's still just as unbelievable everytime that I listen to it, which is often. so please enjoy ~

Baby Sister - This is just a sad, sad song. Damien's voice is so low and sad. It's a really beautiful song. He wrote this song for a friend that wrote a story or something.

Eskimo - This song is a slow burn. Damien evokes such sadness.

Cold Water - Lisa is just phenomonal. She makes it look so effortless ~ she's amazing and she's beautiful. Damien told us at Beacon that this song is like lying in a tub and covering your whole body with water then going underneath all the way and holding your breath until you can't hold it any longer. He has an amazing soul.

I remember - This is one of my favorite songs. Lisa's voice is sooo good. It's so soft and so strong. The song starts off almost sweetly and then is just blows up in your face with amazing intensity. The fact that he can make that sound come out of his beat up old guitar is mind blowing. And by the way you can see Shane alot in this song and he looks hot.

The Professor - Damien really yucks it up in this song pretending to be like Bob Dylan for a few seconds. It's a really great song and he gets the band to smile the whole way through.

Woman Like a man - It's an angry song and it's amazing to watch. Lisa sings hauntingly behind him. Good stuff.

Me, My Yolk and I (clip 1) (clip 2) - This is for sure my favorite song. Honey doesn't understand why and sometimes I don't either. I just know that it's intense and I love it.

Me and Shane Fitzsimons, he plays bass for Damien. Look at this hug. Notice his eyes are closed and he's smiling. He's a really great hugger. What a nice man. He's totally my new crush for the moment. I just haven't been able to stop thinking about this lately and I don't know why. 5/03/2004
