It's all about the Hoopla!

Alrighty people!!! This is going to be another blogger for the record books. I’m not even sure where to start.

I guess I should start with my mom. Thank G-D she is really doing much better and I know that it’s going to be a very, very long process but I know that we all need to be really strong. I thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for everyone’s prayers and I know that they have helped tremendously. Please don’t stop though. On Sunday, when Honey was at my house we went with my brother and sister-n-law to visit some rehab centers. The first one made me totally sick to my stomach and I guess I wasn’t expecting the reaction that I had and I was crying and wanted to vomit. The second one was the place we ended up choosing. I felt at ease and there weren’t old ppl everywhere so it wasn’t as depressing and the person that took us on a tour was really nice. I’m glad that I have that over with and I can breathe a little bit. I have the Medicaid appointment on Monday and that I am a totally nauseous about. But I put all the shit together that I needed and that I’m not nervous about. It’s just the whole process and I know that after the interview I will have a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. But that’s another story.

Chris Martin from Coldplay

I haven’t written in a long time and I just wanted to recap a little before I get to the HOOPLA of this weekend. Last month I went to see Coldplay at Nissan Pavilion and that was a FANTASTIC show and we were in the pit, in my opinion the only place to be. The gay love between Johnny and Chris was H-O-T!!! Chris had so much energy and it was a great show. But let me tell you that I will never, NEVER go there again. The traffic was horrific. It made the whole rest of the evening fucking SUCK!!! They need to change that situation. The fact that it should only be about a 40min drive and it took us 4 FUCKING hours to get there is maddening, and that was a month ago and the fact that it still causes agita is pretty incredible. SO NEVER AGAIN!!!!

Me and Matty Nay!

Onward and upward: Let’s just move on to the Hoopla!!! The in between weeks were just stressful and boring. Honey, April and Patrick came over late on Friday and we just prepared for the next day events. This is the day in fast forward: woke up, went to hospital to visit the momma, city, walk around, window shop, ate pizza, had cupcakes, saw Frank Whaley and didn’t say anything bc he was with his kid, but he totally saw us and I think was waiting for us to say something to him, but we didn’t. But I think we made his day bc no one knows who he is. Then we went to Sushi for Dinner and that was really yummy. It was a really good food day. Then we went to Starbucks and looked at ppl and had a good laugh about “Brush Ups” and some other things. Then we headed to Irving Plaza for the MattyNay show. The opening acts weren’t that great. The guitarist from Matt Wertz was really very good and Honey and I (really me, but hon agreed) told him later that he was reminiscent of Tim Reynolds and he thought that was awesome. So then the Amazing and talented Matty Nay came on stage. The amount that he has grown as an artist and musician since just last year is amazing!! It’s just makes me happy for him, bc he’s so special. He SOLD OUT Irving Plaza and that makes me so proud for him. I just love that boy. His new stuff that he played was amazing and he was so aggressive and switching it up by playing an electric guitar was incredible. He just is sooo great. The stories were pretty good as well, there was one point that my cheeks were hurting me bc I was laughing so hard. The audience was great to and at the end when he was saying goodbye his eyes got red and glazed over bc I think he was about to cry and that’s just another reason to love the boy.

After the show I was scoping things out and was talking to John and he gave me a pick and no other valuable info, he just didn’t want to promise something he couldn’t. But then we headed outside and it was good that we did. We were only waiting for about 30-45 min b4 the Shnay came out and talked to us. He was amazing as always and he said that he remembered my face from last year but not my name and I was like, “I don’t care that you don’t remember my name, just my face was fine.” And he gave me a big hug and I told him all I have been doing is talking about him and he was like cool. Then I asked him what happened to Aben and he said that they got rid of him so I could concentrate only on him. It was hot. Then Honey gave him a SHLOAD of Cd’s and a dvd of U2 stuff and he was all over honey and that was hot too. I thought I got a lot more pics of that but there were only 3, maybe I thought I took more, but I really didn’t. Then PattyNay was all-gay with him and that was really sweet to watch. Matt’s wife was at the show and we saw her and she was not what any of us expected. But I think I like that she’s a total normal person. B4 we left I gave MattyNay a rub on the back for good luck. Then we went home and that was our day.

Sunday: Patrick and April left to go home. Honey and I went to my brothers’ house so she could meet him and the dog. We stayed for like 30 min. it was a pointless drive but I was glad hon met the fam. Then we went to rehab centers and lunch and had a great day with them. And I have to say that they have never been funnier. They were just like joke, joke, joke all day. It was too much! They are awesome!!! Considering what we were doing it was a pretty good day and I was glad to have the time with Dylan and Dana. I am going over this Sunday and we are going to my step mom’s for the other side of the fam visit. Next…….

Monday: woke up, hospital, city- we ended up parking in a lot and we never do that but it was getting late and there was no place to park. So then we went to the health center for honey for something and that took awhile so I whipped out the cards I bought the other night with Barbie on the cover and played solitaire. Then after that we went to sushi for a snack, then we went Shopping. I got the new Franz cd/dvd, vertical horizon, and the Dane Cook cd/dvd. Then we went to store after store looking for my green converse and NOTHING!!! Then we went to claires and I got honey an earring tree and I got myself a plastic colorful ring. Then we went to more stores for my shoes and nothing. Then Honey spoke to robyn who we were going with to the Franz show and she was asking what time we were meeting her for dinner. And it was getting late and we were gonna be so late meeting up with her. Robyn was still waiting for a reply from this guy she knows who is friends with the manager from Franz about getting us free tickets and she still hadn’t heard anything at all. But Hon had tix so there was nothing to really worry about. So we head back to the village to put our shit in the car and to check one last sneaker place for the converse and there they were AAAHHH!!! My green converse!!! (Which you will see later in the blog). They are so awesome that I wore them out of the store, then we ran to the car place and found that car and trunked it all, then grabbed a cab and headed to dinner at Zen Palate. Yummy…. At a near by table there was this lady who is a famous writer and she was on Oprah once and I have no idea what her name was, but I pointed her out and honey knew who she was from her face, but no name either.

Pre – Concert: We head down to msg and robyn is thinking that she and her friend Diana were not going to both be able to go. But hon and I were like you have to at least check the will call window and robyn was like alright. And sure enough there was an envelope there with her name on it. There were 2 tix inside in sec. 300 something and a little piece of paper that is below:

The invite

Our reaction was WHAT!!!! So robyn said that we should all check if we have envelopes in our name… honey checked and nothing… I check and there it was another envelope with 2 tickets and that same piece of paper. Then we were thinking about what we should do with the other this pair of extra tickets and the extra GA ticket? So we decide that we are going to try and sell it outside. So Honey and I go outside and walk around for a min or 5 and there weren’t any fans outside. So a scalper comes up to us and asks what we were selling and we show him and he’s trying to haggle and then all of a sudden this huge white guys comes out of nowhere and hugs the guy (at first I thought he was a friend) then he proceeds to hook his arms and puts the GUY IN HANDCUFFS!!!! First reaction: RUN, second: look at honey, Third: do what you are told. The cop tells us not to go anywhere, I am feeling like I want to vomit and shit my pants all at once. I look over at honey and we are both in shock, then the guy was like “they were trying to sell me the tickets,” which was true… and the cop asks to see my id, then yells at me that there is no pic, then I give him an old id. He walks away for a minute, I say to honey really quickly under my breath that we’ll tell him that a friend asked us to sell them bc she couldn’t go to show. The cop asks us what happened and I tell him exactly that, he asks for the tickets and I give them to him. He walks over to the dude and unhooks his cuffs, for a split second I think he’s going to put them on me, then he puts them away, I have tears in my eyes and my ass is sweating and I am totally shaking. He hands my id and the tickets back to me. He says that we are not aloud to sell tickets and tells me that if the tickets were fake then he would have arrested me. Honey and I just wanted to get the hell out of there so I was like, I will never do that again!!! And we got the hell out of there. We take a minute to breathe then we find robyn and tell her what happened. Honey said that if I was going down she would have gone down with me. That’s a good friend!!

Awesome

Concert: When we got our bracelet’s to go in we saw this chick who was asking us questions: long story short Honey(bc of Karma) gave this girl, for free, the other GA ticket and it was so cool of her. She was really grateful. Then we get to the floor and get a great spot, 1st band was Cut copy and they were pretty good, very appropriate. 2nd band was tv on the radio and they sucked big hairy doody balls. Then out came the Franz… They were seriously the best band I have seen all year!!!!! People were jumping up and down so much that the floor was shaking and it was incredible!!! The amount of energy that was going on was insane!!! They are just so awesome live. And let me tell you the amount of complete sexiness that oozes out of Alex Kapranos’ and Nick McCarthy's pores is just unparalleled. They just have this raw sexual magnetism and it’s pretty crazy. They were amazing, during the 2nd to last song the outsiders there were 3 ppl on ONE drum kit and it was completely unbelievable. We find out later that David Bowie was there. Cool…

"Outsiders"

They signed the cover!

After Concert: We go to the fucking after party at the Tribeca Grand Hotel. There was a line and the worrying started, are we going to be cool enough? Honey checked out the people on line and she thought we were going to be fine. We wait for about 45min – 1hr on line and it’s starting to get cold out. Then we see Johnny Knoxville go into the party, cool. Then we see Nick show up AWESOME!! We get to the person with the list Robyn goes first: Guy: “what list are you on?” Robyn: “I don’t know” Guy: “well, there is the label list, band list, management list.” And robyn’s like: “I guess the label list.” He’s like: “What’s your name?” and she’s like: “Robyn”, Robyn what? Robyn lee. He looks at her kinda funny and says are you really her, I need id, she shows him and he’s like well, just to let you know you are on the band list. You should know that it was really kinda surreal and I was plotzing. Next it was us, What list are you on? I say: same as she was, Name, Yetta Wood. He looks then says what a spectacular name. Get wristbands… WE’RE IN!!!! we check out the seen, everything was downstairs, there was a lot of drunk dancing ppl. Somehow we make it to the front where there was a stage set up and we groove a little. I start getting antsy and I was like there is no way that they are going to play their own after party. My feet are about to fall off. I need to sit, there was a small spot right on the stage and I try and sit, then I end asking this girl about what’s going to happen and she gives me the lowdown, sons and daughters were going to play. And she was like I should know bc I work for the label. Nice one!!! So I talk a bit with her and she’s just like franz are the nicest boys and we shouldn’t feel shy about asking for autographs or pics at all.

Long story short there, saw her later, she gave me her card and said I should e-mail her and maybe I’ll get something special. Already have that in the works. We listen to sons and daughters for 2 songs it’s already 1:15am, we head to the lobby area and sit on these huge couches for a sec and all of a sudden BOB HARDY is there and we go over and I talk first and I was like your awesome and I love you and can you sign this, this is my friend, she loves you too and can we get a pic? Yes, it was awesome and he was really hot. We kept seeing him through the night and I was like… hmm bob. Then we saw Paul Banks from Interpol, and it was funny bc no one else wanted to go over to him, but I wasn’t sure which one he was. It was really funny. So I tapped him on the shoulder and was like we couldn’t help notice that you are paul from Interpol, we think you are awesome, pic? And he’s like only if I take it…. (chirping crickets)… HUH?!?!? Only if I take the pic.. um ok.. sure… We all get pics but robyn. More sitting and waiting. Diana and honey meet Danielle Kessler and I just sit there, hon said he was really moody. Diana leaves, soon after Robyn leaves. Cute boy says hello to me from the stairs and me and hon have a laugh. It’s 3am and we want to do a walk around and then leave. Alex and nick are for sure gone. But honey is like I bet nick is djing he does that, and I was like why would nick do that? Then we walk into the dance area and the lights are on and there is PAUL THOMSON standing right there leaving the dj booth for a second, I run over and tap him feverishly on the shoulders to get his attention, talk about out of it… he cannot hear a blessed thing I am saying. I point to the thing to sign and he takes the sharpy and signs away. Then I point to the camera to ask for a pic, Honey goes first and I motion for one more and then I go. It was crazy. Honey then realizes that I as calling him paul and she totally confused nick and paul. It was kinda funny, but it was 3 in the morning, much like it is now.

Bob Hardy, bassist for Franz Ferdinand

Paul Banks from Interpol

Paul Thomson, drummer for Franz Ferdinand

We leave and take a cab to the car. We get to the car and we can’t find the clicker for the door lock for the car. After about 10min of searching and the guy not really helping honey found it in the back seat, on the floor of the passenger side. Why someone put it there is beyond comprehension. Still hyped up we drove home and fell into bed after honey so awesomely packed for me, bc we were going to her house the next day for awesome U2 in dc!!!

So, Honey and I wake in the am and get all our stuff in the car and we go to the hospital to say goodbye to my mom. We had really good drive listening to Franz and talking about what happened to us the night before. Then we start listening to Dane Cook and I am laughing so hard that I am crying and it wanting to pull the car over bc it was just too funny. Then the highway was shut down and thank goodness I had Honey in the car bc I would have not known where to go. We go in reverse and get off at another exit and take 29 back to her house and bypass the traffic. That was a close one. We get back to Honey’s house and I take a quick nap, honey makes dinner and we eat then go to see Rattle and Hum. It’s the U2 movie and it totally got us pumped for the show the next day and during one song I totally cried. We went to the show to see if we could win tickets for Patrick and April, but we didn’t win. We saw an awesome movie though. We get home and watch some things and look at some pics on the internet. We go to sleep relatively early.

Next day, we get out of the house around 11:15ish. We get to the venue at 12:30ish. We find our place on line, bc there were fans that were giving out numbers to make sure ppl were keeping there place on line. I was glad they did that. We were able to leave the line for lunch and the bathroom, and we also left for a while to go see if we could wait for the band to come in and they usually come out and sign things. Then after an hour or maybe longer, Rocco (a roadie) came out and sad that since Bono is doing stuff on the hill that he will not be arriving with the rest of the band until a half hour before the show bc they are also NOT having sound check. So we contemplate with the ppl we have met and decide that they are not coming and we go back on line and met more ppl. We start playing cards and tell some stories about our different concert experiences and meeting famous ppl. It was a lot of fun. We had a plan and a buddy system with this guy Todd, if he got in the egg and his friend did then they would take us and if we both got into the egg then we would take him. But we get there and NO ONE that we hung out with that day got into the egg, but we all did get to stand together and hang out during the show, and that was awesome. Bc Honey and I are so awesome we left and got everyone food around us and they held our spots. Honey is more awesome bc she treated everyone. Then we went to the bathroom and I told the room we were coming back and then when we came back NO ONE was moving out of the way and then there was some pushing and we finally got back to our spot.

U2 concert

The Edge is HOT!

Edge

Edge again!

As soon as the show started this huge bitch that sidled up to the front was behind me and every time she would jump up and down she would hit me right in the back. I finally turned around and told her and she tried to blame on of the friends we met that night, and I was like, I don’t think so. Then there were 2 ppl in front of us and they left, so me and Honey took there spot and it was on the barrier and it was incredible. It was an incredible show and during with or without you bono brought a girl up and held her the whole time and I was in tears. Then the edge was coming our way and did a song like right in front of us and HE HAS MY SHOES!!!!! He has black converse, so honey took a picture and it was insane!!! He is so hot up that close that it’s ridiculous. Man that man is hot. What a good, good show. Bono was also really hot. And so was Larry. We go to the metro and my feet are killing me and so were honey’s. We get back to her house and I tell her I want to watch Rattle and Hum, we watch that for a bit, then she puts on this video with Larry making out with Samantha morton in a tub and OH MY G-D!!!!! Holy Hottness batman, he is one hot mother fucker. Man I keep think about that video and my mind becomes mush. Man that was good stuff.

Green Converse baby!

Edge's converse!

Bono!

I wrote ½ a blog that night and finally went to sleep at 3:30ish and I was exhausted. The next morning we really woke up around 11ish and did nothing the rest of the day. We watched this Dane Cook thing and he made a crack about Kiefer and Honey and I were howling and she quickly shut it off and it was funny. Then Honey’s mom took us out to eat and that was really yummy. Then we went to the mall and got our pics developed and did a bit shopping then went home and watched tv and I just realized that’s when we started writing our blogs and that’s when we went to bed around 3ish.

Then we woke up around 11ish again and I left that morning. It was a pretty quick drive, I had to get gas on the way home and I got my period that morning. Then I spoke with the bitchy social worker from the hospital and told me that there was a year wait at the rehab center. And I said that I would have to call her back when I got home. There are a lot of things still up in the air, I had a Medicaid appointment on Monday and that was awful. There are still things that need to get done, but at least I have that over with.

If there is any portion of the blog that I am leaving out, please refer to Honey’s blog.

Let me also say thank you to Honey for an amazing week. It was so much fun as always and thanks for treating me so good. I can’t wait until November. I love you.
